"In response to your Rite of Replication: Go infinite." Just seems great. This dude goes infinite with a lot of stuff, and it doesn't have to be yours. A few cards even let it kill the table immediately. (Heat shimmer, twinflame, and Breaking // Entering)
Things just off the top of my head this goes infinite with: (Even if you're not the one casting it)
Keep in mind that all of the ones that involve returning it from graveyards require a manaless sac outlet.
It also goes infinite with any non EoT blink spells if you have something like a Soul Warden out.
Dude goes infinite with basically everything.
EDIT: Also, in Riku if you make a token copy of it, it goes infinite with any instant/sorcery that has populate.
I can see those clone effects winning you the Game, but all those blink- or entomb-plans need additional Support like Storm or other mechanics that reward a high spell-count right?
Storm doesn't work since you're not casting. All the recursion ones either A) Kill on their own (Like Breaking // Entering) or B) Go infinite with most of the Sac outlets you'd use anyway. (Bloodthrone Vampire and friends.)
The blink cards I put on that list specifically go infinite on their own. Ghostly flicker is infinite mana and infinit any etb triggers because you have a second target every time you loop it, for example. There's also things like soul warden or purphoros that just make blink or recursion with an innocuous sac outlet still accrue value.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
You played JESUS?!?! I heard none of his guys stay in the graveyard, and once you think you have him beat he ALWAYS comes back to win within three turns. I like...WORSHIP him.
This card is quite bad in Legacy. The only time he "doesn't cost extra mana" as some posters are strenuously insisting is when you're relying on your opponent to cast spells. Relying on your opponent to cast spells while holding up 1RR is a bad plan. Also Snapcaster is way more flexible, apparently flexibility doesn't cost anything?
Fork is completely unplayable in Legacy, and a 3 mana fork with RR in the cost isn't playable either.

Its for sure not a auto-playable card as some suggest here, but the card works fairly well in burn and UR delver style decks and especially in legacy, we have some prime targets to copy (but still its 1RR to cast, or a vial at 3 counters, so its more an answer to opponents spells than combo with your own) ; but the combo with your own cant be totally ignored, it works with a bunch of effects in endless loops, either by flicker/reanimation so it will allways have a "combo potential" flag above its head (which is a nice thing for potential sleeper cards).

He doesn't cost extra mana if you're casting spells because you still get the original spell. With snapcaster, to get a 2/1 and your spell twice costs (Original Spell Cost*2) + 1U. With Dualcaster, the spell costs 1RR + original spell cost. Snapcaster will cost more mana with any spell costing more than 1 mana, only works on your spells, and has a worse body. Dualcaster must be cast at the same time as the spell. In a deck where you want to leave up mana anyway, it's perfectly fine. Fork is a terrible comparison, that's like saying snapcaster is bad because Recoup is - leaving behind a body is a big deal in terms of card advantage.
This is the important factor here. It's true that Dualcaster isn't as good as Snapcaster since Snappy fits into more main decks and costs 1 less. However as people have pointed out, there are many applications in combo or in his ability to simply be a 2/2.
Except for the fact that Regrowth, Recoup & Steelshaper's Gift are all way more playable (and see way more play) in Eternal formats than Fork is (or does).. Based on that, I would predict all three of those creatures rightly see more play than will this guy.
Again, this card is really cool though and I do like it!
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm you may have a point sir. Maybe its better than I thought. My gut still says that people are over zealous about the strength of this card. I guess we will see :):):)

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
I think the biggest strike against this card when comparing it to snapcaster mage is the lessened element of surprise. There are so many spells that are ever on the stack at any given time, but being able to choose from graveyards, especially in a multiplayer format, opens up a lot more options.
Also, I don't see why people are fussing about the cost - yeah it's a little harder to play, but once you cast it, that's it, you're set.
a more expensive missdirection but it can cancel out a force of will so this could see some legacy play. Its a little early to tell. interesting card though. could also be used to cancel out a council's judgement and get a little more if they go to exile your own TNN.

Although I am not by any means a professional magic player; I'd like to point out the Steelshapers Gift also doesn't throw equipment a into play so they can't be countered. Also Recoup isn't in a relevant color for legacy. You play snappy because you can reuse that brainstorm or counterspell and get a chump blocker for your control deck AND you have a card to exile for Force of Will. The only real comparison is Regrowth and Eternal Witness, but I believe the only deck running Eternal Witness is Nic Fit, a deck that is built to abuse her. dualcaster will most likely be the same, built around for combos but not thrown into a burn deck because it has a body.
In terms of EDH, Dualcaster is super abusable will most likely see tons of play. Even in the premade deck you have a recurrable play for him with Feldon.

True, my mistake - though I still find myself having more cards to choose from in my graveyard than I do in my hand.
A card in hand
is worth two in the yard.
Worth three to copy
Is it really that hard?

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

This really is true. Burn doesn't want to run Fork either..so, with all due respect to those suggesting otherwise, please try again.
Card is cool though.
