The Lithomancer/Nahiri (if that is indeed her name) does seem like the best bet at the moment for "character we know but maybe not by name", and would likely be white.
As for "new character from a plane we know", I'm thinking Lorwyn would be a fair bet since it seems unlikely we'll ever go back there. And there are no walkers born from there thus far. If blue and white are already taken, then I could potentially see:
- A black faerie or goblin planeswalker. Seems unlikely, as they'd both be off-color from their typical tribe color.
- A green treefolk planeswalker. Not sure they'd pick this over Freyalise, but who wouldn't want a planeswalking tree some day!
- A green elf planeswalker. If Nissa is moving away from elf-matters mechanics this could be a likely candidate, though I believe Freyalise could focus on elves too?
- A red goblin or flamekin planeswalker. I'd personally really like to see more flamekin, but that's just wishful thinking.
So, my guesses would be:
White: the Lithomancer/Nahiri
Black: Leshrac
Red: A new planeswalker (from Lorwyn)
Green: Freyalise
People, it ain't that hard. Of all the Planeswalkers present during the Time Spiral Block, only Teferi survived. Literally every other oldwalker had to sacrifice themselves (or someone else) to seal the rifts. Jeska, Lord Windgrace, Freyalise, Leshrac, all perished. They shouldn't be back. If they are, it's a huge continuity error.
You could argue for Radha as she was similar to Venser, but it is implied that her essence was spent by Jeska to close another rift (althought she survived). We already know Bolas is kickin' around.
Also, Feldon is actually dead (from old age) in the current continuity as well. I like to think of the new legends as 'snapshots in time' of these characters.
White - I'm thinking this is either going to be serra, or lord windgrace. The article said the guy who designed the white deck was a huge fan of cat tribal. I'm hoping for serra. I also am not quite positive what windgrace's color truly is.
Black - I really dont know, I think this might be the new character from a plane we've seen before. which plane though? probably a lesser-known one if they are making a new character. a kamigawa character would rule!
Red - i think this will be the lithomancer (nahiri). With the emphasis recently on red/artifact interactions, the red walker being a master of magic stones seems like the correct call.
Green - I really have no idea. freyalise would be cool, maybe, but she's definitely a fire mage and I think she's R/G so my hopes are down. If they do this I really hope rebecca guay does the art!
I'd love to see feroz get a card. We don't know much about feroz except that he hates on creatures and founded the wizard's school after telling baron sengir to GTFO. This probably means he's not going to be the green walker. Feroz is probably blue or U/x so he's probably out.

There's nothing red about Nahiri's magic, she uses binding magic, AKA control magic, and she's a Kor.
Plansewalker by Rebecca Guay would be a dream come true. In this age of ugly digital-looking Magic art that would be a breath of fresh air. Never going to happen of course.

I agree about the ugly art that magic has had of late - it's all so dark (visually, not thematically)! I look at many of the cards recently printed and I have to squint and bring it close to my face just to see what the heck it is.
The art from khans was a lot better. Although a lot of it is very digital and, imho, ugly-looking (like master of pearls) - at least it's been brigtened up quite a bit. I'm hoping that they will use art with more diversity in style like magic's old days, and bring back oil and watercolor.
possibly - have any other planeswalkers changed their name once they ascended? or after losing a spark? not sure.
Tevesh Szat changed his name after his sister died.
Just throwing that out there, but that's a pretty obscure fact, and he wasn't a black walker as Tev Loneglade.
About the digital art: there are still a LOT of artists that paint with traditional media, mostly working in oils, so just because you might dismiss something as digital, it doesn't actually mean it's digital.

yeah, im not saying digital art is bad per se, just that I haven't liked a lot of the digital (and probably "analogue" art) that has come out in recent years. I prefer brighter, more stylized art. I miss some of the artists from the old days like drew tucker, guay, melissa benson, etc. I think there seems to have been an effort to monogamize the art style, and I think more variety is better.

I totally understand where you're coming from in that, but unfortunately, as an IP, it does serve them to have a more consistent art style and look. It's, sadly, a business decision.
There are plenty of artists that I miss too, but I don't blame the new artists for what they do. (not saying that you do this, just making the statement)
But I did just feel the need to comment, because I get really really tired of seeing the "boooo digital" argument when there are a lot of artists that don't use digital media for their work.
yeah I dont want to generalize like that. I am really happy with the look of khans overall. I wonder what discussions have been had about the art and art direction at wizards recently.
I, for one, would love to see the art on a flamekin walker... maybe Ashling somehow gets her spark ignited. And any red walker that isnt another version of Chandra would be a welcome change.
in the article, they said they'd reveal some of the new token cards for C14 today... has anyone seen something?
They said today?
EDIT: As I thought, they phrased it "Tomorrow". Since the article was supposed to be published monday, that would mean it's actually Tuesday that we'll get those spoilers.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
in the article, they said they'd reveal some of the new token cards for C14 today... has anyone seen something?
The article was supposed to come out on Monday, but they decided to publish it after someone posted the two cards. They just forgot to change the text to go with the fact it was published 3 days earlier.

That's why i said digital-looking. Not because of the method, but because they look "artificial" CGI as opposed to a lot of art from the old times which looked like actual paintings.
Are there any plannswalkers floating out there that haven't gotten a card yet from Time Spiral forward?
Dack Fayden got his card after being hinted at for a long time, so did Kiora, Ral Zerek and Ugin all have cards, Ugin being the next one. Who else is left that has been hinted at in articles, duals of the planeswalkers and other media?
The guy from Duals 2014 that Chandra was after, Ob Nixilis, and Nahiri right? We know all of their names, so I don't think they work for the "know who they are but don't know their name slot".
Are there any other hinted at walkers out there? The hint to me means someone other than Nahiri, but that is mainly because I really don't want her to get a card in something like this over Serra
On and Nahiri should get cards during blocks, not fan service products like C14!
I'm new to posting on MTGsalvation, but not new to Magic (I've been playing since Fallen Empires). I have some predictions for this thread that I hope you'll find hold some weight:
White Deck: My initial go-to was also Serra (we'd all Love to see her card). She fits the Angelic Field Marshal and is a Very well-known and Nostalgic character from Magic's past. My other thought was Nahiri, the Lithomancer (I know this could be 2 separate characters). The flavor article "Sorin's Revelation" (Uncharted Realms) practically names her this as "Sorin felt a small, unsettled feeling rustle inside of him like a snake, coiled and ready to strike. Nahiri was gone and her silence disturbed him, but Ugin should have sensed the danger. Why hadn't he come to Zendikar?". In the Ob Nixilis flavor article (Dreams of the Damned) he talks about Nahiri cursing him with a hedron. It seems to me that Wizards wouldn't make 2 separate characters that both wield hedrons to bind things (the Lithomancer imprisoned the Eldrazi on Zendikar with the network of hedrons). A lithomancer by definition works by divining through the use of talismans or charms. All this said, I think Wizards will create a Nahiri, the Lithomancer planeswalker card when we return to Zendikar (one of the most successful sets ever released - certainly one of the most drafted with booster boxes still going for several hundred dollars). I think we'll return to Zendikar after Ugin is awakened by Sarkhan in Fate Reforged and that we will see an Ugin card in the set after FRF. This makes Serra more of a possibility.
Blue Deck: Teferi (duh - Wizards said on the "Love Letter to Vorthos" that they settled on 5 walkers for C14).
Black Deck: My first thought is that Yawgmoth would be cool, but he was never a planeswalker. Leshrac isn't quite as big of a deal as Teferi, but they both had Time Spiral legendary creature cards. Also, Leshrac was a necromancer and fits well with Gisa.
Red Deck: My first incling was Jaya Ballard, but she's a Lot like Chandra. Then I thought about Jeska, but her character was all over the place as Karona and as Phage (so her story doesn't make her exactly red-aligned unless you just look at her as a pit fighter - which was before her spark ignited). After seeing Feldon, I feel like the Red deck will be geared (haha) more toward artifacts which makes Slobad, the Tinkerer (also already a legendary card: Nostalgia!) a good possibility.
Green Deck: I said Freyalise from the beginning, and I'm still leaning in her direction. She was a very big influence on green in the days of Ice Age and doesn't necesarily have to feel like Nissa. She could do things for green that we might not expect like dealing direct damage...
As for "new character from a plane we know", I'm thinking Lorwyn would be a fair bet since it seems unlikely we'll ever go back there. And there are no walkers born from there thus far. If blue and white are already taken, then I could potentially see:

Gee, I hope I'm right!
The creator of the plane that became Phyrexia
The unknown Lithomancer that helped imprison the Eldrazi.
Serra's Assassin
The Ancients
Unnamed characters with possible but unconfirmed walker status.
The Third Guardian of Shandalar
Xavis's creator
Xavis's Intended enemy
Not many choices really.
