Hello, not sure if this is the right section of the Rumor Mill but I'm posting it here.
I was taking a practice test on the DCI page since I'm trying to become a judge. I got a question wrong and clicked on the link to the Magic Tournament Rules provided in the description of why the right answer was right. It took me to a list of documents and one of them was KTK pre-release information. Unfortunately there were no promo names but from the image, the following is in the pre-release kit.
• 5 Khans of Tarkir booster packs
• 1 seeded booster pack, including a promo card
• 1 activity insert with Planeswalker Points code
• 1 clan identity sticker
• 1 clan information card
• 1 Spindown™
life counter
• 1 clan identity button
I thought it was cool we get a button and a sticker as I missed out on the RTR block pre-releases and so I don't have any of those things.
Here is the link to the actual file if anyone is interested:
They had buttons for the Guilds for the Dragon's Maze Prerelease.

"A card is considered functionally identical to another card if it has the same card type, subtypes, abilities, mana cost, power, and toughness." - Wizards of the Coast Official Reprint Policy
Hmm. I don't recall that from my experience there, but that could be due to any number of factors, up to and including my own memory being faulty. Thanks for the correction, then.
They had them at Dragon's Maze, they just weren't part of the prerelease packs. At my store they were up front in a pile. They didn't announce anything about them though, so most people didn't know (or care) to get one.
On an unrelated note, one of my LGS's offered to sell me the clan banners Wizards gave him for $10 ($2 ea) after the pre-release. Is that a fair deal or is he being scummy (inb4 just being smart business guy) seeing as Wizards gave them to his shop for free?

It's not exactly scummy. Most likely they would just end up taking up too much space if he were to keep everything that wizards gave him for free, so they would end up going in the trash later instead of going to someone who would actually want them.
Edit: This isn't exactly something that wizards supports though and I believe they are actually suppose to destroy them after the event if they don't keep them. At least that's what's suppose to happen with extra promotional cards from what I was told. Either that or they're suppose to be given out at other events.

I mean my main gripe with it is how he came about putting a price on it. Saturday after Commander, I asked him where he got those and if I could get some for myself. He said he could put me down for a reservation to get them and asked me what I thought was a fair price. I asked how much Wizards charged him and said "I mean didn't Wizards give them to you for free?" and he said "How is that relevant? I think $10 is a fair price for all 5". It just seems to me like he is trying to make a quick buck off of them and if he isn't supposed to be selling them I'd honestly have no trouble reporting him just because of how he put a price on them.
I think 2 each is very fair. I know alot of stores were selling their Garruk stand ups for 100$+
I doubt your the only one who wants them either. He only got five, not enough for everyone.

OK when you put it like that, it does seem fair. Guess I was being a bit too harsh on him.
Every person that taps lands sideways feels owed/entitled more than any other group I know of.
Man... It's an LGS let the man make a buck! At least he offered it and resonably. He could say "sorry there are a lot of ****** that would rather report me and let me store burn over ten bucks...." Then go right to ebay and make more.

... Whoa, really? I'll have to give the guys that run my LGS store super extra double thanks (I already thanked them a whole bunch of times) for giving me my Garruk standee for nothing! (I have no intention to sell it, btw). They also gave me the (empty) Helvault after the Avacyn Restored event.
I'll definitely ask them what they're going to do with the banners, depending on what they look like. I don't always expect to get these things from them, but none of the regulars at the shop seem to be interested lol.
It looked like icy blast was the promo anyone else see what was in the promo pack?
Yes it was...That was a pretty damn good kit thought, Even when HD didn't helped recognizing most of the cards I could spot: A Polluted Delta, Icy Blast, Surrak Dragonclaw, Savage Nuckleblade and Wooded Foothills among some too-blurred rares over there

I seem to recall doing it at Alara Reborn. So yeah, for a while now.
