dig through time is real, so sick!!!
in standard, after just trading some resources(i mean 3 answers and a fetch and its already just 4 mana's), the first one will be like 2 to 4 mana's, and this card is really good at 4, best 2 out of 7 thats better then fact or fiction for the card draw function, at instant speed. you cant play 4, but 2, maybe even 3 are great
4 would probably be pushing it... but I think I want to try. If its your only scry card (and you don't use the black finisher) you "might" beable to get away with 4.
I feel a little bad for Wizards that all the cards they're previewing are now being scooped my MythicSpoiler.
I have a feeling they're going to do their best to get someone in trouble for whatever led to all those cards being spoiled ahead of schedule.
I do love all the new cards though. The early spoiled cards left me scratching my head, but everything in the last few days has been awesome from my perspective.

Assuming you meant delve, not scry I think 4 will be too much, but maybe not if it's the only delve card. This, murderous cut and treasure cruise all seem like playable delve cards for standard, and maybe empty the pits as a control finisher. Obviously no deck would use all of them, but I feel like a lot of decks would like to use at least two of them.
As for villainous wealth, I love it. Not as good as genesis wave because of the no land clause and the randomness of using it on an opponents deck rather than yours. Being able to cast any spell, though, is nice. I'm already trying to brew up a standard sultai control deck that uses it + ashiok to either steal opposing win conditions or just deck the opponent.

Yea. Agreed. If you use any other delve card (pits, cruise, etc.) you can not include x4 Dig through time.
If you don't... then it might actually be quite good. I'd argue that you only really need 2-3 cards in your GY for it to be effective (I'd argue a 5-6 CMC instant that digs you 7, draws you 2 is VERY playable). And when you cast it, it goes into your GY
Villainous Wealth seems busted. I guess its drawback is being horrid vs aggro the likes of Rabble Red and all that Mardu is getting. But still....omg it tears up Jund and Junk.
It's not busted at all. Compare it to Genesis Wave and you'll see that it's a lot worse. It has a more restrictive cost (when X is sufficiently big it shouldn't matter, but still), it doesn't put lands into play, and it relies on your opponent's deck which makes it harder to abuse. It does hit non-permanents and that's the biggest plus, but not always relevant. If you look at the mana investment and payoff it starts to look bad.
4 mana = Look at top card and hope that it's a non-land that costs 1.
5 mana = Look at top 2 cards and hope there are non-lands that costs 2.
6 mana = Look at top 3 cards and hope there are non-lands that costs 3.
7 mana = Look at top 4 cards and hope there are non-lands that costs 4.
8 mana = Look at top 5 cards and hope that it's a non-land that costs 5.
Clearly the odds look better as X goes up, but for 8 mana you get to see 5 cards and maybe cast 2 of them? And you don't really have control over what those 2 are? At least with Genesis Wave, for 8 mana you can easily make a deck to play 4 of those 5 cards flipped.
I think 9 mana for X = 6 is where the money is. It's definitely sideboard material in this environment, depending on your meta. But vs Junk or Jund you should hit value every time, no need to name them all but an Elspeth/Nissa and a Heros Downfall alone is game changing.

Yes. Is a 9 mana sorcery that doesn't say "I win" really going to cut it in Standard though? I really don't know.
just saw the any number of nonland cards clause on villainous wealth. I thought it was 1 card with cmc x or less. With a slow standard, this thing will be such a blowout. G/B decks were already good. Adding blue was hard. Now it isnt. BUG all day.
I can see Dig Through Time eventually being a 4-of in control builds similar to the way Sphinx's Revelation was. It will be less powerful late-game than revelation (though probably not needing to delve to cast at that point), but more useful mid-game to find a wrath or the right answer.
I actually disagree about it being that similar to Sphinx Revelation....
I mean, late game, if your deck doesn't care about graveyard you'll be able to cast this for just UU
look 7 cards, choose 2 and gain a card advantage of 1....
also, as it's late game, you'll be able to actually cast one of those 2 cards if it's an instant.
for revelation to give +1 card advantage, it costs 2WUU, nets you 2 life, and doesn't let you choose anything, it just draws 2 cards and that's all.
This card gives an absurd amount of tempo if you actually have a bunch of cards in the graveyard to Delve it's cost to UU.
It may be actually MORE powerful than Sphinx's Revelation in a vast amount of time.

My thoughts on the impact is that vs the two top tiers I named, it should be game ending. Their decks are grinding and I could see this deciding the matchup, which could push BUG to the forefront of tricolor midrange. I may be seeing the pipe dream for this card, but for nine hitting 3-4 of my Junk spells at once seems crippling.
already said the first time some1 posted dig through time, that its pointless in my eyes, to give cards delve and make them overpriced on the other side.
also it should put the rest of the cards into the graveyard and not on bottom of the library.
BUT WHY IS THIS RARE ?!?!?!?!
we got draw cards at uncommon level that are better.
i would have expected this one to be common, since its so overpriced and if u use delve for it, u probably cant delve for another card
i know there are allways crap rares, but this card is so full of mistakes, i really liked the set so far, but around delve wizards developement team did no good work
I don't think its overpriced. If you delve 3, its a 3UU instant dig 7, draw 2.

which uncommon draw is better than this?
well, there's Brainstorm... but brainstorm is WAY over the power of stuff being printed nowadays.
this card is situationally better than Sphinx's Revelation and the latter was a powerhouse.
Also, I don't think Delve is a mechanic you should hoard while building your deck....
there will be no "delve.deck", regardless of the power level of stuff with delve as the mechanic is detrimental to itself.
I love these arts. I love these effects. I love everything about these. I really like Villainous wealth in UBG. At first I was like, woah woah, should be UBR, but then I realized any non-land permanents so green works nicely in there. Very very cool stuff today GO SULTAI!!

it's quite possible in a deck with a fair amount of looting, for example.
Jeskai Ascendancy comes to mind.
Villainous Wealth is going to see some hard abuse in other formats than standard. I can already see ripping apart someones deck in 1 turn and playing it against them. I'm ready to start doing evil things with that card.

it's possible....
but.... if you're doing this why don't just play Genesis Wave or.... Banefire?
it costs the same amount of mana, has the same time restrictions, can be responded in the same manner, and will win the game exactly in the same way....
except, with Genesis Wave you have control of what it may fetch from the deck, because, well, you're digging the deck that you constructed.
I doubt this card will see any play outside of kitchen tables for this very reason.
Villainous Wealth wants a ramp deck, but we don't actually have the kind of mana base that supports a fast enough ramp.
Still, may see play in other formats simply because it can eat your opponents gameplan, but I doubt it'd be more than a one of. Is there even a BUG Ramp Deck?

Kinda surprised VW isn't mythic, that's a brutal effect wow... like Spelljack on steroids.
Absolutely hilarious to pull on an aggro deck if you manage to get off a big enough cast - yeah i'll just take the remainder of your beaters and bash YOUR face in with them <3
Good times. VW is the kind of card that can produce table flips in the right situation.
