I'm very curious where these leaks came from. I'm sure Wizards is going to look into it and try to make sure that it doesn't happen again. This may be a one-time Christmas spoiler season
It's really way too late in the cycle for anyone to care. We get the full spoiler from WotC on Friday morning.
It's not like during the New Phyrexia or the Conflux seasons (or even worse, the Judgment season) where the whole set was pretty much spoiled with weeks or more to wait.
Wizards is still going to want to know where the leak came from. The last thing they want is another New Phyrexia spoiler season where everything is spoiled before they have a chance to build up hype the way that they want to.
Also, I hate the wait, too. I wish they would just spoil the whole set right at the outset so we know what we're getting into right away.
To me, Trap Essence feels really scary and more worthy of a rare slot than the likes of Mystic Genesis or Counterflux. It might not be a universal counter, but it still helps you establish board presence, gets rid of a blocker (which makes answering the Temur fatties even more difficult), and even has great potential of activating Ferocious out of nowhere: all you need is a 2-power creature. Imagine casting it after flipping a Rattleclaw Mystic. The only problem I see about this card is that I'd rather spend my turn 3 by casting Savage Knuckleblade than leaving my mana open: the Temur are obviously a proactive clan, with all their disruption being more like answers to answers.
. Mystic Genesis and counterflux are much better cards than this (especially counterflux). This is 3 Cmc and 3 colors. If I'm paying that much for essence scatter, I expect something way better than 2 counters. This card should be common.
Retribution of the Ancients might be Modern playable. It's badass with Undying creatures. Geralf's Messenger is a beast already, but to be able to reset it so it can "undie" over and over again, while killing (or at least weakening) creatures in the process? Um... yes please!
Disowned Ancestor is cool with the Kin-Tree Invocation... An on-color 1-drop to set up a Kin-Tree on turn 2 bringing out a 4/4? Very nice play, seems like it will fit nicely in Abzan aggro.
Can't wait to cast Kin Tree Invocation off of Rotting Mastadon...or that white wall. 7/7s on turn 3 are good, right?
Also, is anyone else a little disappointed there's a vampire? I liked the idea of Sorin being the first one on the plane, spreading his own "infection" as he searches for a way to remedy the one released from Zendikar.
I dig the defender crocodile too, delicious flavor. That + a chump blocker and a little mana open makes attacking very unnattractive.
Altar of the Brood 1
Artifact
Whenever another permanent enters the battlefield under your control, each opponent puts the top card of his or her library into his or her graveyard.
Jam multiples in your Abzan limited deck for slow mill wins. Realise you're playing against Sultai delve. Cry.
That's what you get for giving offerings to the Sultai Rakhasha and not to your ancestors.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
Reading what Ride Down does is eerie. A couple of days ago I started working on a set for fun, and one of the first cards I designed was just like it, except that instead of outright destroying the creature, the blocked creature would deal damage equal to its power to the blocker.

It's not the matter of them being good or bad, it's the fact that counterspells with an upside is nothing new for the rare slot, especially in multicolor. Just because two effects are usually seen on common cards when on their own doesn't mean that they don't make a rare when put on a single card. Does gaining 3 life sound rare to you? Yet that is the reason why Absorb is rare when compared to Counterspell.
You're only paying 1 mana more than Essence Scatter (it might be colored, but that won't be a problem in the environment with fetchlands and Rattleclaw Mystics and other mana fixing), and I'd say that 2 +1/+1 counters that suddenly make most of your deck better are worth more than that.
I love the commons and uncommons every clan has it's theme, clearly different of the others, it seems that is going to be fun to draft. Temur seems to have all the counters in this set.
lol at bribers purse, that there is a really cool card. Especially when you use it against silly creatures, like leviathans or elephants or fish.
'here fishy fishy, have some gems and plz dont kill me!' haha

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Remember when I said that I hoped Outlast would be this set's Unleash?
Yeah, that hope is starting to look more and more like it'll be a reality.
To be fair, Outlast is way down on the list for reasons why the Azban are good. As far as I'm concerned, their +1/+1 lords are the real mechanic and Outlast is just a really bad enabler. Everyone loves Slivers, even the ones that look human.

What are you talking about? Black has access to all three of those. Granted, mostly in tertiary, but it still has a history of using those keywords.

You sure its not the Urza's Legacy One?

Dig Through Time is nuts!
Roar of Challenge is really cool.
Brave the Sands seems good.
Erase reprint is awesome. Courser players aren't going to like that.
Ride Down is amazing.

Creature - Kirin
Pretty sure that Kirin are spirts, not "kirin'. My spirit tribal EDH demands to have this corrected.
