Kill your Mystic tap your Courser attack for a bunch of damage, seems like a great tempo play.
It's another in the line of Fire//Ice and Electrolyze but the inability to split the damage and lack of a cantrip makes it inferior to either. Still a great card though.

While I completely agree, I'll just add that we don't have anything that makes this play worthwhile (yet). That is to say there aren't any powerhouse blue or red creatures for 1 or 2 mana that you'd want to connect with immediately. If this did a (1-guy) Frost Breath or Unsummon rather than a simple tap it would be great, but as it is I'm not sure how making one creature unable to block is going to be worth the time and mana. AHH. It's very close to being very playable in Standard.
I like modal spells, and this one is decent. Not amazing or great, but reasonable and fun. I wish it could hit players but oh well

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Not useful outside limited. Burn is like creatures, it looses a lot of value as cmc increases. 2 damage is a very small thing in a cmc 3 card, smaller then it seems. And the card does nothing against walkers and provides no reach. Compared to white and black permanent removal or red's strong burn this is nothing.
It could be useful on a pure UR shell but paying removal's cost for a condition and/or temporary solution is the very reason why UR decks struggle so much.
Limited-wise I wonder why this is uncommon as there are many commons stronger then this and this is nowhere near the level of other uncommon instants, such as the charms and the multicolor beaters.

I can't be unhappy with another removal fitting in Temur. Surely that's not the greatest thing ever, but seems quite good.
They're the clan of elemental shamans. Fire + Ice.
