O where art ye, Vorthoses?
Look at that banner. Its visible part doesn't seems to match any of 5 known clan banners. And with that flavor text, could this card be a hint for extinct sixth clan? Maybe affiliated to dragons as a whole or to just one particular currently dead Dragon?

Um IDK about you, but that Naga and seemingly Sultai-esque banner in the background would indicate to me this is a Sultai affiliated card...considering the Sultai are all about death, it also makes sense (the flavor text) so sorry but you are definitely reading WAYYYY to into this card.
Not as great in limited but B-B-B-BUSTED in standard. As mentioned, all the planeswalkers not named Ashiok, Chord of Calling, Stormbreath Dragon, End Hostilities, on and on. Yeah, black & red aggro decks are looking better.

Well, Naga is obviously Sultai, but that banner doesn't looks to be Sultai's too (or any other clan's as well, which is the point of my original post). Otherwise, why would he/she cleave it with her flaming sword? And regarding affiliation, I've meant not the card itself, which is quite Sultai-esque, but owners of that destroyed banner.
This is similar to, but almost always weaker than, Mana Leak. (It can be better than Leak super-lategame, but that will not come up much as games get closed quicker now than they used to, especially with Revelation rotating).
The card is fine and will probably be maindecked but frequently sided out.
Been asking for the reverse of this (CMC 3 or less) for like ten years.
That is never gonna happen in NWO. Maybe in a commander-like product.
I often wonder if people know what NWO means. NWO is a particular model of design meant to keep a balanced level of complexity at Common, in order to make the game easier for new players. A reverse of this spell would be perfect under NWO, what makes it quite unlikely is its power level, which would be insane at 2 CC.
Well, it's also used a shorthand for their entire current design philosophy, which is perfectly reasonable.
No it isn't. NWO is about complexity at common, nothing else.
This is an efficient counter for tempo decks. It deals with all sorts of problematic cards (wraths, Planeswalkers) without having the narrowness of Negate (which has been playable in the past). Good design, good card.

I think this is one of those cases where people try to argue that the incorrect colloquial usage has become so commonplace that it has become a correct definition on its own. Like "literally". Languages evolve and all that. It annoys me to no end.

There is Thoughtbind, though not as kind with CMC. Anything less treads on being near-Mental Misstep level of busted in eternal formats.
You mean those same eternal formats that have Counterspell and don't play it (Modern isn't eternal)?
Bleh everyone knows it's not eternal, but non-rotating is such a TERRIBLE TERM as the catch all for it. I wish there was something better. I much rather use eternal incorrectly than have to say non-rotating.

Well... I'm kind of Vorthos so let's see... honestly I think this is Sultai hating on Temur.
1. Obviously we have the Naga there but with the banner I see kind of the arch of the Temur claw design on a flapping banner.
2. It makes sense with the hating on cost 4 or greater and that's the kind of thing we have to keep our eyes on. Yes, Temur cares about "POWER" 4 or greater but the 4 or grater thing seems to imply Temur.
3. This is one that I know because I'm an aspiring illustrator. When dealing with a flapping object and something covering it, painting for reproduction at a small size, one can end up with indistinct shapes.
4. The Wing, the Eye, the scale and the fang don't even look close to the kind of shape there. The arch shape we see there corresponds best to the Temur from what we know.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Counterspells are generally worse in limited than constructed.
The card seems perfectly fine for standard, even if only in sideboards.
EDH Decks
BGGlissa, the TraitorGB
URTibor and LumiaRU
WUBOloro, Ageless AsceticBUW
UBSygg, River CutthroatBU
RGXenagos, God of RevelsGR
UGVorel of the Hull CladeGU
GBSavra, Queen of the GolgariBG
URGMaelstrom WandererGRU
But yeah, it should have some implications on casual, as well as block and maybe standard.
