Don't know if anyone has mentioned it or not, but this particular Hydra has a particularly favorable interaction with the new Hardened Scales enchantment.
As in it gets one more counter/snake? Or like, is there something I'm not seeing?

Yeah I don't see the synergy with Hardened Scales really. The design seems a little awkward with morph tacked onto our generic hydra for the set. I'll still windmill slam this dude in draft, but I don't see much potential in constructed.

Is the only reason this has the Sultai watermark because it's snakes? It seems to work with every other green clan better -- it automatically qualifies for Azban's "+1/+1 counters matter" theme and it will usually give you Ferocious. It doesn't seem to have any special interaction with Delve at all.
Actually quite good. It leaves behind bodies if it dies, meaning it's good post removal, and the Morph cost is more than reasonable. I'd be surprised if it wasn't somewhat playable in Standard.
Also, is awesome to continuously flip into with Vesuvan Shapeshifter, as it'll grow by 5 each time.
If the average MTGS poster is correct, the only cards seeing play in constructed are the charms and about 3 rares. I guess the next standard is just going to be Theros and M15... or let's wait and see how wrong they are.
Focusing more upon the morph aspect of the card, I like the fact that you can have multiple good (read: playable) morph creatures in a deck. I'd love to see a decision tree where an opponent doesn't use Mardu Charm on this morph creature and then pays for it later...or if they do use Mordu Charm upon it while it's morphed and they find out they just threw away a removal spell for a Rattleclaw Mystic.
Blue's iconic creature type is actually Sphinxes. Hydras have become green's iconic; it really shouldn't surprise anyone to see a mythic one in every block any more than seeing a mythic angel every block for white.
On topic: bonkers with Doubling Season and/or Primal Vigor. Gives major value on board wipe. The morph effect is cute. Plus, what's not to love about the idea of a hydra made of cobras? All in all, I really like it.
I hate this card... because now I have to get two: one to put in my snakes deck and one to put in my hyrda deck. It also seems like it could very well be standard playable.
Reminds me of the Symbiotic cycle from Onslaught. If you are playing mono green and feel like having something that pays off big time when it dies then this might be for you, although I guess Hydra Broodmaster makes better tokens.
So am I. Who the hell wants to dump so much mana into a big creature that has no form of evasion? Hydras are so much worse than Baloths as the Green iconic.

I don't understand why green needs an iconic. Green is about the wilderness and nature, there are lots of wild creatures. Why force an iconic creature, when there really isn't an obvious one? Nature is diverse.
I dunno about this, but it makes me think and feel that Hydra Broodmaster could and should be mythic. This one is really subpar compared to the latter...

Baloths were never even considered to be green's iconic simply because they don't exist outside of Magic. People don't seem to understand that the iconics exist for non-efranchised players to be an apotheosis of the color's playstyle and philosophy (and no, giving green no iconics is not an option). Hydras are huge creatures that get better with green's mana acceleration, all the other creature types just don't exemplify that as well.
Honestly, the only difference between hydras and, say, dragons, is that the latter got more playable cards as of late. That is not to say that hydras have no playables, but they're on about the same level in terms of creative card design. Then again, people often complain about getting Yet Another Dumb Dragon, like in Innistrad.

Yeah, because Baloths are so flavorful, and have much more evasion than Hydras...
as I knew morph don't use stack but can we downfalled hydra before getting 5 counter when unmorph?
I believe the "as" functions the same as a hydra (or a planeswalker) entering the battlefield. Since you can't respond to morph, there will be no chance for you to downfall anyway (until I pass priority).
So outlast is the only mechanic that doesn't appear on a mythic while morph appears twice? Every clan gets two mythics except for Sultai who gets three and Abzan who gets only one? Why?

A hydra is more like a bundle of snakes with legs.
