Dunno man, it's live only if they let the 4/4 upgrade actually resolve, and it doesn't play nice with Figure of Destiny's other best friend (Blood Moon is awesome in tandem with FoD, I've come to realize).
That said, card's either gonna be stupid good because someone found a way to consistently keep it live as a 1cmc Negate, or it's gonna be dropped hard due to being a worse Spell Pierce where that counts. It's definitely a cute non-Charm Uncommon, though.

A turn 2 ensoul'd citadel could make things tough for them with this (and if you thopter springleaf'd turn 1 then you can even cast this turn two with the ensoul.)
stop killing my funny i mean i can level it up with ease just have to lead them into bad situations. and im only stating figure because a recent tempo list used mana tithe to some success online so why not more haha

Nah it totally works, hell I'm on a similar plan too with Tithes and Figures.
But going Jeskai with the mana just makes things really crazy.
Hey I wonder what kind of creature could play into this gameplan of dropping a Sylvan Caryatid or Rattleclaw Mystic on turn two and having four mana open on turn three...
This slots well into Temur. Slow down your opponent so that your ferocious creatures can hit the board via ramp or hardcasting. A nice way of tying into creatures matters.
Naw, just as is. I don't think a regathan firecat in two colors would be that oppressive for one less total mana. Plus, it could be our solid ferocious enabler. It could be like this set's watchwolf.

The new (and inferior) Force Spike is here!
I don't think players will latch onto this thing. Ironically, if it didn't have the second ability, they might. But players HATE cards that have effects on them they can't take advantage of. Very few blue control decks have 4-power creatures in play, especially early on when playing counters for 1 mana is important. That makes the second ability useless most of the time, meaning most players will shun the card. If the primary effect was closer to the real Force Spike, they might overlook the dangling ability, but that's not the case.
For all this discussion about the number of counters in Temur, you folks just all have to ask yourself one question: Isn't countering really just punching a spell in its face?
Swan song doesn't counter planeswalkers and gives the opponent a flyier... that seems relevent if you are playing without them and your opponent is some kind of jeskai tempo.
It will depend on how easy it is to have a 4 power creature... Atm I think black has too much removal.
For those wondering where Jeskai's control elements are... you do remember we've got still over half the set to go and even though it didn't get the watermark, the Jeskai have the wrath for this set right? I'm sure we'll see more counter spells (and the Mindswipe can slide into any Jeskai deck as well as Temur)
So im curious. Everyone has talked about goyf and modern with this but what about modern/legacy fish. If fish doesn't have a 4/4 by turn 4 it probably lost anyway.. so for fish this can delay the w.o.g one turn. And then counter it forever after turn 4...
I welcome any of the clan abilities on any type of card if it makes a fun card. This seems like a fun card even if this clan should be about creatures. A counterspell with ferocious seems like something great to have in the game as a whole.
...and on second thought it kinda works if you think that the clan might need to protect the big spells they play against someone else's countermagic or removal

Probably with "can't block" or "must attack".
Tapping out for a removal spell hey?
This card is going to make the pros play the game differently.
Every time they gonna be sitting there in the tank "He's got blue.... AHHHHH"

Yeah, temur is gonna be pretty unplayable. It's like midrange-tempo which just sounds horrible.

They've got blue man. BLUE!
Red and Green can tear you a new one, but blue's gonna counter you no matter the circumstance.
