It's also generally easier to make aggro decks that skew a little lower in rarity, which they need to do because the event decks only get so many rares. There are tons and tons of exceptions to this, of course (budgety control decks and very spendy aggro options), but it's true-ish in general.
Additionally, event decks have to be designed with a certain amount of lead time, meaning that they don't necessarily know exactly what the format will look like when the deck hits. It's easier to design an vaguely competitive-ish aggro deck that will at least sort of make sense in any format than it is to design as control deck that will.
So why do all the aggro decks get the event decks? I kind of hate it that they do. Mardu seems to me like another boring aggro clan/guild like boros. I feel the Abzan should have had it not Mardu
These decks are aimed at newer players and an aggro-like strategy usually works best for them
Control, which Abzan is, however; not so much
While this is true, aggro isn't always for a new player. Try to pilot any deck you're not familiar with. I love Bogles for instance, but you have to pay attention to triggers and how it plays to succeed with it.
As for control, I only find it annoying and boring to play with or against. Especially with those darned permission decks.
Still, nothing beats my old Stasis/Kismet/Time Elemental lock with a Juggernaut, Serra Angel, or Mahomotti Djinn.
If they put a fetch in it, as most players want, they wil go bananas just for a card!
On the other hand, if they put a fetch in it, means that they will not be dust blockers on selves as other event decks. Journey into nyx event deck, I'm looking at you.

True. I forgot about that. Oh well, at least I got lucky and picked up Coursers when the price temporarily dropped.
