I am not 100% on the history of clone effects in Magic... Is this the first card that can clone a Planeswalker?
Also, is this the first card that can clone either an Artifact or an Enchantment; or, clone either a Creature or Enchantment?
I tried to search for cards that can do these things and didn't have any luck, but I'm probably missing something as there are a lot of cards that can have copy effects with different variations or wordings.
Has there ever been a "copy permanent" (or at least "copy nonland permanent") effect before?
Impersonator might singlehandedly make walkers decks unplayable.
Why would it make them unplayable as opposed to slightly less advantageous?
It wouldn't. If anything, Superfriends decks would love this card. I know I will. I can copy a troublesome fattie of the opponent's, or use a minus ability of one of my walkers, then cast this guy to copy it and use the new one for more hijinks. Good times had by all.
Besides, only a few decks will reliably run this card in their mainboard with those UU in the mana cost. Maybe you'd side it in against a walker deck, but remember, the clone is going to be a turn or so behind the opponent's walker, and will go ultimate later on, if at all.
I wish it had provoke, but it doesn't untap the defending player's creature, which was a huge reason why provoke was decent to begin with -- I think that makes this pretty lousy, unfortunately, and a missed opportunity to handle mana dorks and creatures with Outlast.
The clone really is a spectacular card. If it's really a brand new ability (and I can't find existence of a previous one that does the same), then it's pretty exciting! Copy enchantment is not a common effect as is, and it's unheard of on a modal card that can copy more than just enchantments. Copy Planeswalker is brand new. Copy anything but land? Thank you very much! I have a feeling this will be a pricey mythic rare.
Cool idea for an X burn spell. Power greater than 4 is kind of a lame turn on but hey, still a righteous card.
Big news here is the new super clone. That thing is a BOSS. Cant wait to copy people's Planeswalkers and junk clever indeed

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Impersonator is both very cool and feels like it will definitely see play. Copy all the things! Also like Crater's Claw: In a deck where you turn Ferocious on, it's a Shock/Strike that gets better, and it can still work as a finisher otherwise.
Intro rares don't have to be good, but man...can they at least be interesting? The only one I like is Ankle Shanker. I really feel like they put 0 effort into the Tusker.
Impersonator is amazing though. I figured they would make a super clone one day.
The Clone and the burn spell are good. I don't find it better than Phyrexian Metamorph though, at least not for modern. Copying Planeswalkers and Enchantments are not worth U more cost.
For EDH and standard this is an awesome card, and will see a lot of play.
Im just gonna put this out there and let it sit a second. Jund walkers has potential to rakdos return for 12 on turn 5. This new burn would then deal 15 in the same situation. Thats effing nuts. I was thinking of going temur instead of jund after rotation and with the new clone able to copy walkers too its too broken not to. Temur walkers is going to be nasty. Sarken, nissa, xenagos, courser, carytid, claws, kiora?, new clone?, Fetchs??? Sounds strong to me!
Wow... I mean, this new Clone isn't just good, this is "I just literally pooped the crap out of my pants" good for Standard! And I'm super excited about the Utter End promo too! No disappointing news today!
Serious question...is the clone standard playable? For cube, EDH, etc...it's a slam dunk. I know nothing about standard, but is this effect worth it at 4cmc? Surely only a 1-2 of at most?
An UWR 3/4 flier... Cool card, but does this mean no Lightning Angel reprint?
Lightning angel was not a possibility. There are no angels in tarkir.
Also, one of the developers specifically said they didnt like wedge cards like that.

I actually like the Tusker. It lets you use your outlast guys on your turn, and then untap so they can block.

Okay, same ability, same cost, same toughness, but six power instead of four. Alright Avalanche Tusker is better in my book. In a way it acts as removal as with six power you want that to take out a big wall or big possible beater. Plus it basically does have provoke on it as your using the tusker to allow another one of your dudes to get through.
I also like the burn spell as X+2 as long as Ferocious is enabled is actually pretty nice. I swear to Urza, if the khan for Temur has 3 power...
I like Crater's Claws a lot but wish it had been pushed slightly more (ie. instant rather than sorcery). The into pack rares are the standard boring stuff except that goblin seems really interesting, and the Sultai and Jeskai ones seem fun and strong in limited. The omiclone is also AWESOME! I really hope the price isn't too prohibitive so I can grab some.

I really wish that Wizards would make future cards similar to Avalanche Tusker like this:
When [cardname] attacks you may choose to remove it and target creature defending player controls from combat. If you do, those creatures fight.
Sure it would suck for the purposes of pushing through trample damage (which not nearly enough Elephants have by the way), but if my attacker is able to hunt down specific prey, it shouldn't matter if its potential victim is able to block it or not.
I guess that would help with creatures that can't block, but it would really mess with things that care about blockers/blocking like Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile, plus with your wording it wouldn't work because the blocker technically isn't in combat yet at that point. Flavorwise, I always saw it as more of a taunting type thing to goad a creature into blocking them rather than hunting down a creature.
The clossest you might find is Phyrexian Metamorph

Provoke would wreak havoc on morph creatures though.
