I wouldn't be surprised if the lands named in this article (Kheru Temple, Ukud Necropolis, Qarsi Palace, The Gudul, The Gurmag Swamps, The Marang River Fortress, The Sagu, Molderfang Falls, & Crocodile Pits) end up being 9/10 of the lands we don't know so far btw.
The Rakshasa is another crossover from Dungeons & Dragons. I guess one of the interesting things about WotC acquiring TSR is that they are free to bring over any D&D creatures they want (and probably vice-versa).

A Rakshasa is a spirit from the Hidu faith, and not under copyrite by any company.
Well Ruthless Ripper is a welcome addition to the game, in my opinion.
Strictly better than Pharika's Chosen and Typhoid Rats (I'm saying strictly better because of the morph abilities tacked on, but creature types play into it too, right? Swarmyard makes Typhoid Rats much better, but there are way more positives for the Human type than there are the Rat or Scorpion or Snake types that the other 1 mana deathtouch cards have, so I think this type is better for sure, right?). Better than Sedge Scorpion too, except for the color factor. Probably don't like it as much as Wasteland Viper, but that's green and this is black, so I'm liking having a similar deathtouch trick up my sleeve in black now too. This has the benefit of being a Human as well. There are a lot of cards out there that care about Humans, so you could potentially get some extra mileage out of this in the right deck.
Rakshasa offer deals that sound advantageous to those who forget who they are dealing with.
Those poor, unfortunate souls...
its sad. I know....
Anyway I really love the design of these morphs, how they fit so nicely with the wedge cards.
Interesting that info about the morphs all trading if under 5 mana.
lazy designs perhaps, but anyone who thinks any creature with morph is bad in limited is mistaken.
ALL morph creatures, no matter how terrible the design, are playable and arguably quite good in limited.
Bash them now if you want, but these cards are going to be making your sealed decks, and will be drafted highly.

Not just strictly better, massively better in a deck that doesn't want Swarmyard. It can be cast as a 2/2 for 3 if you need damage more than deathtouch and it saps life when you turn it face up.

Not necessarily trading, but nothing that's going to completely trump a morph on base stats. For example, the blue one doesn't die to an opposing morph when it flips, but it won't kill the morph either. That's obviously a very conscious design choice, given that they're highlighting it this early, and really helps simplify things, I think. It does mean we won't be getting any Exalted Angel type cards, but I think the improvement to the limited environment is worth the hassle.
These cards don't feel wedgie or multicolor to me... Definitely smells of a bad set/block. And the stench came all the way from Theros!
But Khans will be the best-selling set of all time thanks to the fetchlands, regardless of the power level of the rest of the set. And then Wizards will think that it's doing something right and keep right on trucking.
Am I missing something, or does Marshall say that "No morph, when turned face up, will outright trump another face-down morph in combat for anything under five mana" right after revealing the morph goat with first strike that does in fact trump all the other morphs revealed bar the blue one?

Doubly so since the set's designed as a tri-colored format.
Other note: I'm trying to decide whether I like the four great ancient capitals reference in the planeswalker's guide or not.
The black and blue ones are playable on body alone outside of limited. Pharika's Chosen and Typhoid Rats both see a little bit of sideboard play and will likely see a little more if there isn't a Doom Blade/Ultimate Price replacement. As for the blue, that is a ridiculously huge butt for 2 mana.
It says a lot about how crap Red is that a 2/2 for 1R is given a drawback.

you can generally tell the easiest road to victory by how many players congregate on it; and the road of counterspells/control has been the freeway of choice in magic for quite some time.

What I find offensive is not that Wizards is endeavoring to make the game more accessible, but the attitudes of elitists who act as though no one of any age should show their face in the Magic public without first having mastery over the complexities of the game.

That morph goat is not in this set (it was printed in Onslaught). It was shown as an example of what they're *not* going to do.

...
It says a lot about how the color pie works that a red bear needs a drawback. Red doesn't get bears with no drawback, it's not how the color is balanced. Green doesn't get direct unconditional creature removal, but no one questions that. (Well, Beast Within happened, but MaRo has publicly said that it is a blue card and should've never been printed in green.)
That's how the game works, not every color gets bears, not every color gets fliers, not every color gets creatures with haste. Otherwise, what's the mechanical difference between colors?
Also, this is a red bear with more upside than drawback. That's something.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
EDIT: Just because there hasn't been a red 2/2 without drawback in the past doesn't mean it can't happen. Also Borderland Marauder is a 3/2 when you attck. Or Bogardan Lancer is a 2/2 if you dealt damage to a player when you summon him/her.
Those both count as drawbacks.
All the morphs seem perfectly good in limited, especially the black one. Not needing to keep mana up is big, and it forces anyone with a giant ground creature to question running into a black deck's morphs.

Foundry Street Denizen saw plenty of play prior to the printing of Rabblemaster.

Ha that's what I was missing.
And to those complaining about the red one:
Red doesn't get 2/2 for 1R with no drawback. It has never happened so far.
