I was excited when I saw "instant" and then sad when I saw "nonland." Is a Vindicate reprint really too much to ask for? The Exile part is nice, but I wish it could kill lands.
Yes and no. No because it's sorcery and mulitcolored. Yes because for 3 mana you can destroy anything. And that cheap mana cost is probably the reason why it won't be reprinted.
I think most of us would agree that a sorcery 4cmc vindicate would not be that crazy. 3cmc eh, I can see it being too good in modern and standard, the nonland part feels to me it's a development change for standard, if I had to guess. 4cmc instant exile is fine still, I can definitely see some modern decks giving it a couple trys before dismissing it, 4cmc is a tad slow but the instant exile could be relevant in WB colors. It can go both in BGw and esper if they *really* wanted it, the question is if they do want it. Probably BGw doesn't, but maybe esper can use it?
Still it's a fine design...

For 4 CMC is it really too much for it to target lands also? I just think it's too expensive for modern, especially because black-white decks typically run Bob. Now if it could target lands, that's another story.

From an EDH POV:
That's not exciting. Add 1 mana and make Vindicate and Instant. Keep it the same as vindicate and add the non-land clause. But to add both just makes this almost unplayable in EDH.
It also exiles which is important in EDH.

Protection from reason (Decadent_Creed can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by reason.)
Wow, an exile anything except land at instant speed? Seems legit, at four not sure how many will be included in decks? Possibly a 2 of mixed in with other remoVal?
lum: It would appear that cards with art/flavor from a Clan that is in the Clan's 'opposite colors' (WB for Mardu, GU for Sultai) don't get the watermark.
Which seems... odd, to me, but it's what they wanted.
Another much-needed answer to planeswalkers in Esper control. Also doubles as maindeckable artifact removal, which Esper is lacking in Modern and Standard.
chained to the rocks and banishing light got a whole lot weaker
Chained to the Rocks becomes basically unplayable post rotation, anyway. Outside of R-splash-W decks, you can't support the mountain count Chained requires.
chained to the rocks and banishing light got a whole lot weaker
Both of those are cheaper than this, and Banishing Light can be played in monowhite or any color splashing white. 95% of the time, Banishing Light is permanent removal, so this isn't really a replacement for it. If anything, this card will make Esper/Orzhov/Abzan/Mardu control decks much more a thing and make Banishing Light see even more play.
I think the extra mana is worth the added ability to take out gods, planeswalkers, and artifacts. Also, exiling is a bonus.

quit wishing and just play the game. if you want to play vindicate so badly then play legacy. vindicate is too strong for standard, and WoTC ought to know that.
good card, but 4CMC is a lot for a kill spell. but maybe it won't be that bad when ran in abzan since they can ramp.
Very happy about this! I was starting to feel uneasy about Banishing Light with people maindecking Reclamation Sage and with the new Sultai Charm, and the 3-mana slot in my theoretical Abzan deck getting cramped.
I really can't believe people think this should be hitting land. Do you all think land destruction is fun? Do you like not being able to play your spells?
Since this is the NWO design, most land destruction begins at 4 mana: Bramblecrush, Wrecking Ball, Demolish. I can see why some players are complaining that Utter End cannot hit lands. However, since Utter End exiles at instant speed, that might be too powerful as land destruction. It would definitely be unfun for new players not only to lose land, but not have any means of getting them back.

I think land destruction is no less fun than counter-control. The complaints leveled against land destruction are pretty much just as valid against counter-control. You play spells to prevent your opponent from playing spells in either case. I like there to be as much variety in deck options as possible in a format (I also wish they'd bring combo back).
That said, I think the card will prove plenty strong without the land destruction option.

I think Icefeather Aven has the Temur watermark because Sultai doesn't have any aven. Wounder if a Izzet aven would get a watermark.

In all other formats... meh. Seems worse than:
Vindicate
Maelstrom Pulse
Unexpected Absence
Council's Judgment
and probably even Abrupt Decay, too.
Fine card, but boring.
