*sigh* Guess I'll have to eat my words. I was thinking we'd not get wedges OR fetches and I was wrong on both counts. Oh well. Now I really have to decide how much I'm going to put into Khans. Also, perhaps I'll go ahead and get my Ob Nixilis playset and do a reanimator deck to punish this. *shrug*
REally? fetches and no tri color rare lands? dam wizards and his money grab reprints, this standard will suck. The rest of the set probably will be bad so they reprinted fetches just to compensate for it :/

We have tri-colour lands at uncommon. What did you want, rare tri lands that were just strictly better than duals? And they've already shown some cool cards so the rest of the set being bad doesn't really make sense.
So this seems like Wizards printing money. Seriously, this will sell so hard.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
I'm not asking where he got pictures of the fetches. I'm asking where he got those particular pictures, which are of higher quality than the other ones we have, and clearly not photographs. He didn't get them from photographs at the party, that should be apparent from looking at them.
Third, to all the people talking about how these aren't particularly great for Standard or have anti-synergy with scrylands, I beg to differ. If you remember ZEN-SOM Standard, the fetches were pretty useful. We had the fastlands and checklands to pair them with. Yes, they helped the checklands etb untapped, but they still only found basic lands. Personally I feel like they have better synergy with the current lands, because:
The scry lands do push stuff to the bottom, but late game you may want to shuffle things up. Say you had to push Elspeth down because you need lands and only had 2 in your deck. I'd be glad I can shuffle up and get another chance to draw her.
Since we're working with painlands now, fetches can really help avoid taking too much damage over time by finding the color you need to avoid pinging yourself.
This may only help a subset of decks, but having Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in Standard enables shenanigans with fetches since they can produce mana.
Fourth, there are actually some nice synergies with running more basics in Standard right now, which has been a non-basic orgy over the past several blocks. Burnished Hart and Nissa's Expedition could represent some awesome ramping opportunity for decks running more basics.
The real tragedy in my mind is that Deathrite Shaman is rotating, likely salivating at the thought of all those delicious fetchlands in the yard. Oh well, probably best for Mono B not to have the ability to ramp.
I don't understand either why people think Fetch lands are not great in standard. I played in the Zen Block and fetches at that time were an auto include in almost every Standard deck I see. Heck I see a pretty good synergy between Fetchland and Courser to Kruphix and that alone will make it viable in standard for green decks. in all actuality I'm tempted to play standard just because there is fetchlands, well it worked back in Zendikar, so why not in KTK as well.
On another note, Courser of Kruphix is now Out of Stock in SCG, and i predict it will still go higher than before, good think I kept 3pcs and I might play GW in the coming standard.
zendicar had landfall.... we dont have this now. fetches of course will be played, and noone here said they are bad. BUT they are definitly not as good in standard as they are in legacy or modern. if you only play 2 colors you can be fine even completly without them, even if you would probably play them for better fixing.
As has been mentioned, Ob Nixilis just got a MASSIVE boost in power and should replace Desecration Demon in mono-black without much discussion. 3-color decks will now have fetches, painlands, scry lands, and the seemingly inevitable wedge lands a la the Shards tri-lands. That's a remarkable variety of fixing that also manages to be completely fair; two color decks can use the first three, but three color decks have to decide whether it's worth playing the basics to make the fetches worthwhile or running more heavily non-basic but having most of their lands ETB tapped.
On a personal note, I had just started playing during Onslaught and missed out on the original fetches. Having an opportunity to get them again, en masse, at rare? This is a major boon.
We have tri-colour lands at uncommon. What did you want, rare tri lands that were just strictly better than duals? And they've already shown some cool cards so the rest of the set being bad doesn't really make sense.
Murmuring Bosk , really, i know fetchs are going to be used widely on standard, but scrylands are widely used too just because they are the only choice.....
I don't play Modern, but I'm guessing that the reason fetchlands are good is because they can find non-basic lands that still have land types? Like the Shocklands, etc? I dunno, I'm just not that impressed by them - they just seem like glorified Evolving Wilds to me. And a lot of duals have caveats attached to them - ETBT, loss of life, etc.
lol.
is this a troll or are people really like this on salvation?
fetches are some of the best lands ever printed in conjunction with duals and shocks.
According to Maro, Theros is the best selling set of all time
For now. Khans is about to blow it out of the water.
For the sole reason of these Fetches. Wizards sure knows how to get players to throw money their way
This. People are saying they weren't going to buy any KTK and now they're buying two boxes. For what? Because there's 5 fetches printed in the set and you might get a few of them in a box? Jeez just buy singles then. I mean, we don't even know how good the set is yet.
This!
Some people are talking about buying 2 to 4 boxes. I'm sitting here thinking the lands at most will likely be 15 to 20 dollars. But hey I'm fine will lots of boxes being opened. Means singles will be cheaper.

I'm waiting until everything settles down a bit before I decide whether to buy this or how much. In the meantime I'm just saving my paychecks and keeping my magic spending down while I decide what deck or decks I'll play.
Either an artifact at 229 or three new non-basics (not including the Monastery and Outpost) in between Flooded Strand/Polluted Delta would lay any speculation to rest.
Posted this last night, but now that Ugin's Nexus has been spoiled...
Not saying it's likely (in fact, I still think it's VERY unlikely), but if they want to stick to the full 10 land cycles per block thing AND have fetches rotate out at the same time, they would have to be in Khans or in the middle set.
Lol all of the hoarders in my town have been complaining in their facebook group all day today. Thats what they get. Love this reprint and cant wait to have the other five brought back down to a reasonable price.
I'm in agreement with some other posters here about the ZEN fetches being reprinted in the 3rd KTK set. I am willing to bet $5 MTGS dollar bux that the enemy fetches will be printed in either the 2nd or 3rd set WITH art that depicts living dragons and flavor text that is the inverse of what we see on the KTK fetches. This will be supported by the block story of time travel.
I can't possibly be the first, but my prediction: The ZEN fetches will be reprinted in the third set of the block (Louie), so that they stick around when the Onslaught fetches rotate out when the next Fall set is released (since the new rotation scheme come into effect then). The M15 painlands will complement the ONS fetches perfectly until then, since it gives every wedge a painland and a fetchland with the main color and one secondary color each. This also works perfectly to bring the ZEN fetches down in price a bit now because the ONS fetches can replace them in quite a few decks at a lower price, but not replace them entirely, and then take the ZEN fetches down another step when they're reprinted in the third set, as opposed to a surprise reprint of the ZEN fetches in this set which would cause them to tank overnight and make players think twice about buying any inflated card in the future.
Edit: This also makes perfect sense if they print allied dual lands in M16, since M16 and Louie will make up a block and thus contain one cycle of allied duals and one cycle of enemy duals, just like M15-KTK-Huey, which is a "block" rotation-wise, now will contain one cycle of allied and one cycle of enemy. Calling it now.
Their reason for stating that they're going to be doing full land cycles during BLOCKS (specifically during blocks) is because they found that having imbalanced 5 land cycles really screwed with the Block constructed format options. The core sets are not part of a Block constructed, and therefore they don't have this stipulation.
I can't possibly be the first, but my prediction: The ZEN fetches will be reprinted in the third set of the block (Louie), so that they stick around when the Onslaught fetches rotate out when the next Fall set is released (since the new rotation scheme come into effect then). Everyone read this guy's post, he's got it figured out.
80 dollar fetches is bad for Magic. I agree completely.
800 dollar Goyfs is not bad for Magic. There I disagree whole-heartedly.
Landbase is something that all decks require, and is such a basic element of all deck construction that having it be prohibitively expensive is bad for the game.
Goyf is just a card and it can go in some decks. If you don't want to pay for Goyf, play one of MANY different deck that aren't that expensive.
Totally different. Lands that are modern legal should not be prohibitively expensive, but anything else is more or less fair game because there should be cheaper strategies, but without being able to even afford the land, there are very few strategies that are going to be good.
Not to derail the thread, but the official reprint policy was a terrible knee jerk reaction by WotC based on a terrible knee jerk reaction by article writers and fans of the game. An $800 "entry point" for green is a blight on the game. It's all because it has always been a "mythic rare" even back when it was called a time shifted card, which pretty much had the same rarity as a mythic. No modern frame card should be much more than $50 each. That's just my opinion, but that's the point of forums, to express yourself. The point of core sets originally were to give players access CORE cards, staples of Magic. Now that MaRo and Wotc are killing off the core set, they can still reprint cards in beginner sets, pre-con decks, and Modern Masters. I think that they gave us a second goyf is great. I am not saying they should flood the market with goyf to the point that they drop to $2 each, but the supply and demand has gotten out of control.
