If this is real perhaps this is an indication that Junk will revolve around +1/+1 counters? Maybe contain some sort of graveyard interaction a la scavenge or something similar? Good find.
Interesting. Looks legit to me, though I'm far from an expert on such matters. Seems Abzan will have a +1/+1 counter theme.

Wasn't it already spoiled that this dude would be an intro-pack rare?
That clearly looks like intro-pack packaging.
Hopefully this means at least some of the intro packs will have the tri-land taplands in them, which will help keep prices down on those (already being uncommon will of course help).
Working with creatures that have +1/+1 counters hints that Abzan will have a mechanic involving +1/+1 counters, which some people have speculated about already, and makes sense with their endurance theme. Likely synergizes nicely with Monstrosity at intro pack noob levels of play, but I have my doubts this will see constructed play.
Nice toughness and potential pseudo-vigilance though.
For sillier people (not at all competitive), you can potentially get up to some silly tricks here with some kind of tapping method and inspired triggers, +1/+1 counters on inspired creatures, and this guy to get them to untap each opponent's turn to get extra inspired triggers, which can potentially make this slightly better than giving vigilance in some weird fringe cases.
Seems like a pretty weird mechanic setup overall though, in comparison to just giving things with +1/+1 counters vigilance. Maybe due to concern over some kind of tapping mechanic that some other warband gets?
Five mana for a 5/7 seems completely reasonable for standard. The interaction with Inspired also seems interesting (if ultimately still bad because inspired is a really hard mechanic to trigger).
It interacts very well with EDH generals in these colors, too. Doran says "You're a 7/7," that Fungus general says "Everyone untaps!" and so forth.
This seems in-color and very reasonable. Probably true.
Wait a minute, is anyone else noticing that on the image, the deck has smooth black all around? I have never seen a deck unsleeved that looks like that even taking into account the new border. There should be grey behind the cover card. The way the cards look like in the photo just seems a bit weird angle wise. I hope I'm making sense. If I'm not I'll do a mockup to explain myself better.
If Abzan got the returning mechanic, the mechanic is almost certainly Undying. Long game mechanic, has +1/+1 counters, works well with Fortress.
The returning mechanic is Morph..?
My understanding is that it's been confirmed that 1/5 of the clan mechanics is a returning mechanic, in addition to Morph (which is not clan-specific).
Possibly the Abzan have the mechanic from edge of malacol(if this creature would untap, you may put a counter on it instead). And why is anyone here surprised that intro rares suck, at least Timmy will likely find this rareworthy unlike Eater of Hope.
Looks pretty terrible. Most of the time this is just going to be a vanilla 5/7 that's hard to cast.
Yeah, but it's really just an overcosted combo piece for Ghave.
Cathar's Crusade, Earthcraft, and crap like those work well with it so there will be a few people who try it out before realizing that they can go infinite for half the mana.
Still, love seeing non-legendary Junk colored cards that aren't... whatever the one they've printed was called.

Well, they did say there was more than one returning mechanic. Undying COULD be it, but I dunno, seems somewhat unlikely given that we just got Undying a little bit ago.
What other mechanics put +1/+1 counters on creatures in these colors. Devour seems very anti-white and anti-Abzan. It also sounds like Abzan draws its power from being in groups. (We don't know yet how black exactly fits into that.)
A reworked version of Amplify could be one possibility. Less likely is reworked graft.
Actually, why not reworked Modular? I'm not ENTIRELY sure how that would work, but I could see it.
This is why I don't like gold sets: cards with interesting abilities that I'm never going put in a deck. I like the mana fixing options these sets generate, but that's basically it.
I appreciate that wedges as a theme is only going to be the first set.

It could very well be Scavenge, at least one clan has a returning mechanic. I hope it isn't though, because scavenge isn't even out of standard yet.

Reinforce could work.
More likely it's completely new, though.
