So the first batch had people kvetching about sexism, this one has race covered, can't wait to see the third one (Maybe political affiliations or religion?) :33.
The next batch will be pony versions of the planeswalkers.
Gideon's always seemed a bit tan, and Tezzeret lost his pigmentation post torso mauling/Agent of Bolas.
Wouldn't be surprised if Tezzeret and Bolas were chosen because of their relation to Sarkhan, + Bolas being the most prominent antagonistic planeswalker. Needed more baddies in the second wave, plus some other popular non-Lorwyn 5 protagonists.
Likely getting Elspeth and Kiora to go with my Ajani and Nissa, definitely gifting Kiora + a copy of her card to a friend. Already got their girlfriend the Hot Topic Chandra + an M15 copy of Chandra, Pyromaster.
Really hope we keep getting these guys, even for dead or depowered 'walkers. Teferi, Xenagos and Venser would be sweet in this size. Hoping for a little Ashiok- I'd gladly buy one for myself, and do the same deal as the above giftings for another friend.
Suuuper hoping Ob Nixilis gets their spark back so he can get one of these figures, and that any new 'walkers in Khans are worthy of the same treatment. These things are great.
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
Rhys the Redeemed
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
Sen Triplets
The Mimeoplasm WUBRGSliver OverlordGRBUW WUBRGSliver Hivelord(Superfriends)GRBUW
Well, well, well now. This is some BALLS, WOTC is showing with these figures. I would've imagine they'd go beyond the first batch with these (I wonder if these same characters would have LEGACY versions as well?)
I'm hoping we can get the "extra" planeswalkers too. Like Tibalt, Ashiok, Ral, Domri, and Tamiyo. That would be a nice set of 5.
Talk about a rag tag group for Ral to lead. Though I have to say, if these fellas would also get Funko POP figures then that would be some major addition to WOTC's guts.

The next iteration of Kiora will be Kiora, the Gaping Blue Sniz Face?
I can't seriously be the only person who looked at that figure and thought "Uh, that looks an awful lot like something that looks like it should be somewhere else on her body..."

I have this sweet Eight and a Half Tails resin statue from back in the day.... Wondering why the hell they dont do stuff like that anymore! Dont get me wrong, these pop figures are nice, but they could sell something soooo much nicer.

What are people talking about? Gideon was always vaguely middle-eastern in terms of ethnicity, his skin tone here is spot on.
Look at the cards and this figure side-by-side. If you still feel that way, you might have some kind of color blindness. The Pop figure is several shades darker, which would be the opposite of "spot on."

I'm not the only one who is pointing out the obvious difference in skin tone. Regardless of how anyone feels if it is appropriate for his character, we have had no strong indications that Gideon has ever been anything other than a Western Caucasian.

Yes, this is completely the same as the color of that funko pop.
Well, 4 out of the 6 are interesting to me. Gideon looks good but isn't Gideon in the end, and Kiora is just...no.

I never thought of Gideon as a dark-skinned character, either. But as neither of us have ever been given art direction directly by Wizards, and Igor has, I'm willing to trust him in this particular situation.
All this time WOTC has given art direction to artists and every time they produced a Caucasian, then Pop figure makes a dark skinned version. I don't care if the lead creative art designer at WOTC says Gideon is supposed to be black - there are obvious inconsistencies between all the art we've seen and this figure, so it throws people off. That's really all I am saying.
Kind of dumb to try to argue about an obvious observation anyways; you're not going to change my mind that the depictions in the card art does not match the skin pigment in the funko figure.

Sarkhan is obviously his Khans incarnation/costuming.
His three images demonstrate that.
I also see what looks like a chunk of hedron (Zendikar) hanging from the blade of his spear that resembles a stylized nine-ring guan dao. This is a weapon that hints at Asiatic flavor, and his other weapons in the past looked like glorified tree branches.
EDIT. I seriously hope this is an indication that they're returning to the story line of Bolas and his two minions (Tezz' and Sarkhan) because I miss it and want to see a resolution.

We can certianly conclude that these aren't the Khans planeswalkers. Elspeth is dead and they aren't bringing back 5 planeswalkers for a block.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
