I see the irony in WOTC saying that this is for people who missed out on the first 4 duel decks.
First. Only US and maybe Canada can get it for a reasonable price.
Second. Well, considering how this is pretty much a "limited" run, even though they say it isn't, it looks like it is. From that standpoint, stores are going to jack up the price making this hard to get anyway. If the base price in Australia is $200, stores there are going to jack it up to $250 or more anyway, so everybody is pretty much paying more to get this, unless you find a nice store who sells it at MSRP, in which case, you are not going to get it because someone else would have bought this already.
So um, WOTC isn't really accomplishing anything with this. It isn't like the original first 4 duel deck were super expensive when they came out, meaning that they were probably easier to get back then than it is to get the duel decks anthologies now.
WOTC must also realize that just because this product is for people who missed out on the first 4 duel decks, it doesn't mean that the people who already own the first 4 duel decks won't buy this.
"We are going to reprint this product for people who missed it the first time". It feels like these people won't get it the second time.
My LGS, which is an advance store, is only going to get as many as the FTV: Annihilation
My local hobby shop is only getting five. Why is WOTC limiting these to the level of the the FTV sets?

It's hard to gauge demand for a product like this because this set's value is about 90% in it's collect-ability. There are a lot of people who wouldn't buy this unless it were $50-80, so by limiting supply, they ensure that only people willing to pay MSRP or above purchase it, also ensuring that stores can charge MSRP or above and don't have to worry about losing money.
What if certain players only wanted 1 or 2 for their collection?
This kinda stinks IMO...
I also find the idea of packaging 4 into 1 being more expensive as ludicrous. I thought that things that were repackaged together should be cheaper. I mean that's the definition of a deal, right?

I want a suitcase full of money, doesnt mean I get it. Buy it, sell the rest? Whatever, Wizards doesnt need to release a product that specifically caters to your needs.

Wizards is already "printing money". Packaging it in such a way that is accessible to more people might help LGS and customers as a whole. But this is the way they wanna do it, so be it. People vote with their $$$.
The decks dont contain any "really" awesome cards, so a price of like 100 bucks is allready totally fine (probably too high allready).
Who ever pays more, fine, be happy with it.
The point about a limited product is that the store can pretty much ask for whatever price they want and simply see who baits, as some customers just dont care for the price at all, which in the end, influences the overall price, as thats what you "can" get.
I agree, there is no real money cards in here. I looked through the lists to what was in them, I was surprised to see there is nothing that is that good. Demonic Tutor is pretty much the only card worth something. You are probably better off spending money on the commander decks. Anything over $80 is not worth it for this.

Bracing for the inevitable tears when someone gets 2 Garruk vs Liliana instead of Divine vs Demonic.
That's actually a good thing to point out, considering all the quality control issues the recent Commander products had, if I actually did buy this product I'd have someone record me opening it as proof for wotc in case what you mentioned does happen.

I would buy them the Anthologies if you have the ability, that's a MUCH better product for a starting player. 60 card casual is very popular, possibly more so than Commander. In addition, you'd be saving yourself a ton of money if you get Anthologies. Better yet, why not a Duel Deck (Heroes v. Monsters, Speed v. Cunning, or Jace v. Vraska), a Commander deck, and a Holiday Box? That's the cheapest option of all and leaves them open to whatever format they want. For an added bonus, get them an Event Deck! You could get all 4 for under $100 if you shop smart.
It's $189.99 US on amazon and it's no less that $140 on ebay: all my local LGS have it for $125.
I was thinking that it would take less effort to turn one of the Commander decks (probably the red one) into something competitive down the road, but we did end up ordering Anthology yesterday: it was only $10 cheaper than the commander decks bought as a set, but it comes with the 8 boxes and life dials which he should like. I wanted to let him try different sleeves so we also got 3 80-packs of black KMC Mat, 2 100-packs of blue UltraPro and two boxes of the "New Gold" Dragonshield, that way he can replace the penny sleeves on the infect deck he already has (I'm also slipping two Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon in) and still have enough for one more deck for whatever he makes out of the other cards we're also giving him. I want him to try out all the sleeves so as get him more of the duel decks we will get the UP matte, the old Dragonshield, KMC super and Hypermat, maybe even some Star Wars sleeves.
I will freak if this happens especially since I have ordered 4 O.o
Hoarders and speculators are why we can't have nice things for decent prices. Core stores only get 5 and even Advanced Plus stores only get 12-15.
Don't really think I am a hoarder since duel decks are the only magic product I buy and I do open the box and play with the decks. hence my signature. I would have been way more happy if I didn't have to jump through loopholes just to get this product.

Wizards should have an online store for preorders of collectables. I was so excited when this was announced, then the inevitible lmitied run + crazy markups has just frustrated me and I'm sure many others. The closest game store to me is 2.5 hours and they've offered their limted amount to the poeple who come in to play regularly (which I don't blame them for). Which means do I overpay or not get it, sadly it looks like it will be the latter. (end rant)
I just have two quick questions.
1. What is the language of this product in the link?
2. How much does shipping cost if I live in the US?
Unless something has changed in the past few years, Japanese Amazon does not ship to the US and you need to go through some third party company. Usually that means extra fees and increased wait time. You also cannot use your American Amazon account either.

Sealed products (that is not singles) like this are not allowed to be shipped internationally by card shops as per WOTC policy. This is the reason my set costs $200, yours is $150 and the Japanese is $80. They are independent markets. You could have someone over there buy it for you and then send it over, depending on what connections you have this could be as expensive and buying one locally.

The words "ordered four" applies exclusively to playsets of singles and hording. I can not see a reason to have more than two of these, as that gives you one to play and one to keep as a shiny mint condition collectable, and allows another person to do the same.

Back about 10 years ago, there was a company called Rinkya that I used to purchase things through Japanese eBay and other Japanese-only outlets. Basically, they bid/purchase the item for you, get it shipped to them, then mass ship all the items to the US once a month. There was generally a 20-30% fee associated with the initial purchase plus some pricy shipping. At the time, it was the only way to get a few obscure Japanese things I wanted (notably, this Beatmania Arcade controller for PS2). The controller itself was only about $200US, but ended up costing over $350 after all fees, shipping, and unfavorable exchange rates. I'm sure there are businesses that still do that now, and they may be cheaper now, but I would only recommend such action if the item is just not available stateside any other way. That, or if you know someone in Japan who can pick it up for you and ship it directly over.
