Yes, he does! It's right on his goddamn shoulder! It's the exact same goddamn symbol! There's two goddamn pictures showing it! Are you blind? Are you one of those people that refuses to admit that you're wrong even when shown photographic evidence? It's the Temur symbol on his shoulder. It's as plain as day. Anyone that says that they aren't the same symbol is either delusional or an idiot, probably both.
Yes, they are clearly the same. They are clearly EXACTLY the same.
Even if they are the same, there is no law that states every clan member has to use or be all the colors of the clan. Just like Elspeth was never bant colored. Just like Gideon being a member of Boros. Clan/Khan/Shard alliances mean nothing when it comes to the colors of the walkers.
Also don't know if anyone posted it, but we got these postcards of the five Khan leaders
Can anyone upload pictures of these? It would be interesting to see how the other four leaders look like!
Sure. My photos aren't great, but I'm a bit surprised someone hasn't posted these clan leaders already. If they have apologies and feel free to delete this post. If they haven't apologies for not posting these earlier, but I kind of figured someone would post way faster than me.
They are:
1) Anafenza - The Khan of Abzan
2) Narset - The Khan of Jeskai
3) Sidisi - The Khan of Sultai
4) Surrak Dragonclaw - The Khan of Temur
Zurgo Helmsmasher was already spoiled, but he is the Khan for Mardu.
I'm obviously not at home and can't scan them, but there are higher quality versions if someone could scan the post cards they gave us.
And I predicted that those characters in preview art in announcment post are orcs and gobos. Also Aven, Cat-folk (Leonin yet to be seen), Ogres, Naga, Salamander(on Sultai picture, left side) Undead (same picture right), and the biggest mistery: is that a DOG-FOLK on right side of Temur picture (character holding an axe in a winterhood) and an Goat/Ox horned-folk? Damn, this set is just EPICLY rich when it comes to races and I love it.
About the plot: Dragons killed off, Sarkhan comes back with dragons, everybody is like "wtf this is god" and sarkhan takes control of all the clans, warlord of Tarkir, Khan of Khans, sounds simple as hell but I bet it will look like that. Or a bit more advanced.
Oh nice. Mono color commanders just as I'm trying to build a mono red one
Looks exciting. Still don't know what is it they're returning or doing anew that has been wished for?
Wonder if that hedron piece gives Sarkhan the power to time travel and he tries to use this ability to undo the extinction of dragons only to cause a whole new mess because of time travel. I guess that would increase the likelihood of new Sarkhan being Temur colored if Vol himself is indeed the time traveler. Still thinking he's gonna be Jeskai colors.
Personally I hope the problem is that he meets I-No from guilty gear in the time stream and he ends up bringing Gears to Tarkir instead.
The strange draft scheme suggest that both large sets will be wildly different and that the smaller set will play nicely with both. My prediction: Khans will be in the past, wedge multicolour. The third set will be in the present, shard multicolour (that's why Sarkhan is Jund colours). The second set may be about time travel and have multicolour pairs (a la Ravnica) which will play well with either shards and wedges. All that said, I don't expect multicolour to be a main, or even big part of the block, since we just left Ravnica behind.
Also, my bet for Sarkhan is that he will be mono red.
Sarkhan is in khans he have a hedron pierce in his staff--- the set takes place in the present
Dragons have gone extinct in tarkir
second set : Dragons of Tarkir will probably take place in Tarkir's past were we will see the dragons the clans take inspiration from...
Sarkhan could be Jund colors in Khans of Tarkir. the set is Wedge colored but this don t rule out some random shard cards in it.
I know that this is present Sarkhan. What I am saying is that he travelled to the past.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

You have to read in context...:
Kahmal the fallen was saying he would be WRB and that it would fit for reanimating dead dragons , i said w doesnt like to mess with order etc and say its more a rg rgb thing and say he will be jund colored the guy goes on no mode and other guy say to look at Sarkhan art, i see Tamur symbol in shoulder he says no and say the symbol don t have a point ....
I saying he would be URG was a typo ( like the guy before me saying he would be WRB cause colors of the art... )
To everyone speculating about Sarkhan's color, it was explicitly stated by Maro that in the story Sarkhan was previously a part of one of the clans, left and then planeswalked away. I can't remember for sure which clan it was, but I know it wasn't Abzan, Jeskai, or Sultai. That leaves Temur and Mardu and my gut says it was Temur. Again, I can't remember 100%.
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
To everyone speculating about Sarkhan's color, it was explicitly stated by Maro that previous Sarkhan was part of one of the clans and left and then planeswalked away. I can't remember for sure which clan it was, but I know it wasn't Abzan, Jeskai, or Sultai. That leaves Temur and Mardu and my gut says it was Temur. Again, I can't remember 100%.
HOWEVER, someone in the audience did explicitly ask Maro about three color PWs returning and in a non-direct way Maro said they were interested in returning to that idea, but not in the near future. That implied it was not in this set, but you know how Maro is.
"know how Maro is"
You mean he never straight up lies? If what he said is true about 3-color planeswalkers, we can be sure there is not a 3-color walker in the near future if it was said in the recent past.
Well, if the second set takes place in the past, and they print a 3 color walker there, then a 3 color pw comes about in the past, not the near future technically. It's a twisting of things, but not beyond Maro to do.
Gideon was my first thought as well. Promo art showed him with a Boros logo, I think he even had red on his outfit. At that point I declared 100% that he would be RW. I mean, there is even storyline justification through his relationship with Chandra... but we all know how that turned out.
So, even if Sarkhan IS a member of one of the clans, he may still only be RG or even just R.
As far as MaRo never straight-up lying, it is important to pay attention to his exact words. He's like a genie in that way. Did he use the phrase "we won't see tri-color PW in the near future"? Because if the set takes place in the past...
With the time travel theme, we're looking at, what? Present-day Tarkir, second set takes place in the past, third set is present-day Tarkir but with the dragons alive?
If that's the case, then there's some interesting story stuff. Like, it would imply that the clans wouldn't be around in the present (since they're based off the extinct dragons) and instead, the five dragons themselves would be defining the different factions.
Also, I think it's amazing that Khans is cramming in like, everything that fans were wanting. Morph, wedge-colors, time travel storylines, more races, an Asian-inspired setting, a focus on more traditional-style artwork, a better solution to prerelease rares... so much stuff. I see now what Maro meant when he was talking about how much cooler than Theros this would be.
All you people gushing over Innistrad and RtR blocks will be weeping seas of tears if/when Wizards returns to either of these planes, since they will be at or lower than the power level of Theros.
I don't know about Innistrad, but Ravnica will be at the high end of the power curve every time we visit it. Not only does Wizards have a hard time balancing it (with the multi-color, hybrid mana, and ten new mechanics) but R&D is also in love with Ravnica and they know the players are as well, so they push it more then they would other sets to insure they don't make a behated Ravnica set.
Really? there are people that actually wanted morph to return? The rest of it is pretty good hype though, looking forward to seeing the video of the panel, and the khans of tarkir video.

I somehow find it tragic when an attacking Traveling Philosopher gets blocked by another Traveling Philosopher, which normally results in two dead philosophers. Shouldn't they just sit aside and start discussing?
"This is really exciting, so much to find out about, so much to look forward to, I'm quite dizzy with anticipation . . . Or is it the wind? There really is a lot of that now, isn't there? And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming toward me very fast? Very, very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide-sounding name like . . . ow . . . ound . . . round . . . ground! That's it! That's a good name- ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me? Hello Ground!"
Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the Sprouting Phytohydra as it fell was Oh no, not again.
Really? there are people that actually wanted morph to return? The rest of it is pretty good hype though, looking forward to seeing the video of the panel, and the khans of tarkir video.

The one downside to this information is that it means Surrak Dragonclaw will likely end up using the art dwchang posted, which means the bearpunching art will be on a non-creature spell. Here's to hoping it ends up on an awesome one, though.

Just a important information, the Surrak Dragonclaw image shows him using a bear's hide, that comes from his punching bears habit
From Maro's tumblr:
zebesiansafari said: Is the guy punching the bear a philosopher? Is that the block synergy between Theros and Khans? Bear-tough thinkers?
The guy punching the bear is the khan of Temur. In his picture, you can see him wearing the bear’s hide as a cloak.
