Is this even possible? apparently this went up on the Wizards website for a few minutes...If this for real I can't even imagine the repercussions...

MAGIC: THE GATHERING OFFICIAL REPRINT POLICY / VINTAGE MASTERS
July 26, 2014 – RENTON, WA – The time has come for Wizards to modify our Official Reprint Policy. On June 16, 2014 Wizards of the Coast released Vintage Masters on our Magic Online client with great success. Wizards of the Coast today announced Vintage Masters, the second installment for the popular “Masters Series” franchise to be printed. With this release, scheduled for January 2, 2015, Wizards will be making sweeping changes to the Official Reprint Policy.
Vintage Masters will take the paper game to a whole new level, and allow players access to some of Magic: The Gathering’s most powerful cards. In order to release this set Wizards of the Coast has repealed the “Reserved List.” We did not take this decision lightly and considered the consequences carefully. Vintage Masters is a set that will be similar in size to Modern Masters, available only in 15-card booster packs. Vintage Masters booster packs will retail for the MSRP of $4.99, and each pack will contain the following:
9 commons
3 uncommons
1 rare or mythic rare
1 premium foil card (any rarity, including the extremely rare premium foil Power Nine card), OR 1 Power Nine card
1 Foil full art land, featuring art from several of Magic: The Gathering’s first sets
There will be premium foil versions of all cards in the Vintage Masters set, including the Power Nine!
All art will be the same as the online versions; however, this printing will not make the digital versions redeemable. This is due to only 144 of the cards sharing platforms; the other 181 printed cards will differ from the Magic Online Client.
This printing comes as the Magic Community is experiencing an influx of fake cards turning up around the world, and Magic Players are suffering. The decision to print Vintage Masters was made to both protect the Magic Community from these fakes and to expand the player base of both the Vintage and Legacy formats. This printing will effectively quadruple the number of PLAYABLE Power Nine in the hands of the players.
Addressing Value- The Reserve List was created as a promise to the Magic Community after high volume reprinted cards destroyed the value of the originals. We believe that Vintage Masters will both increase the value of the original cards while making “Eternal Formats” more affordable for the average player. This is based on tracking values of All of the cards printed in Modern Masters prior to as well as after Modern Masters’ release and seeing an increase in value.
With the printing of Vintage Masters Wizards of the Coast will be eliminating the “Reserved List”.

MaRo has stated repeatedly that the Reserved List is not going anywhere, despite the fact that they want to abolish it. This strongly suggests that there is some sort of legal reason why the Reserve List must be maintained.
I would be incredibly surprised if they chose to do this.
Also, the fact that they list the packs at $4.99 instead of the $6.99 MSRP that Modern Masters has makes me extremely skeptical.

All of these "Let's eliminate bad cards" crusades are simply ignorant. And when they start to devolve into "WotC is conspiring to give us crappy cards," they just become embarrassing. MATH is conspiring to give you crappy cards.

Looking at the Reddit post, the OP later gave the supposed link where he had found the release. Another user pointed out that the link was inconsistent with the site's numbering system. So....shenanigans!
If anyone thinks this is real for a second, I have a bridge to sell you.
If they actually did a Vintage Masters in paper, my guess is that it would be hobby shops only, very exclusive print run, and recommended pack MSRP starting at $19.99. The chances of a "Power Nine" card would likely be less than current mythics (likely 1 in a box). Foil Power Nine would likely be 1 in 6 boxes.
So 4.99... yeah not a chance in hell.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread before it degenerates into a discussion about how the Reserve List should be abolished. If any more information on this surfaces that would make this even remotely plausible, please PM me and I will unlock it

Besides, even MaRo said he wanted it gone, but couldn't dump it, so this is even less likely to be real.

No, you have no reason to believe it real, and a whole host of reasons to believe it false.
