So what happens when you Chord for an Ob Nixilis, Unshackled? I don't mean in game terms, I mean doesn't that Ob feel like an abpmination? Seriously, that Ob be hating himself.

Yea, the Noble Hierarch fiasco was one to forget. It's kinda ironic Wizards gave SCG to preview this card.
Love the rub ins to the cartels.
Wizards: "Here you go, write something sweet about it... and lower that ******* price will you."
I think I completely missed the fiasco you were referring to.
Noble hierarch wasnt printed in m13, but did they state it would, or was it a fake 'spoiler'?
Exalted was the mechanic of M13. So many people expected a Noble Hierarch reprint in order to drive down that 40 dollar price tag. But she was completely absent and people were annoyed.
I didn't want a Hierarch reprint in M13 because it would have been the most miserable thing ever to have T2 Geist of St. Traft with exalted.

That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating. Take it back!
Much appreciated, this scares me about green devotion though, with them aready splashing for phrika, having hard to deal with devotion in tower archer and witchstalker, now they have the Predator to combat elspeth, and cord of calling to have to only play one polu, one nylea, and one arbor colossus. really streamlined their decks.
I love the reprint. Bit ups Wizards. Now where are all the people that don't want major reprints to happen? Or people that "just" bought there playsets and are "out" all that money? This is one of the most positive threads that I've ever seen on this site. It does seems that everyone that is willing to say something love this reprint and others.
This is sweet. These are the only thing I was missing for pod. Being reprinted at rare will hopefully make it affordable at $10 or less, as this card isn't an all-format allstar like thoughtseize.

Nothing that you thought of will happen.
He clearly hates tutoring, how will he live with himself once he knows a shuffle effect brought him into this world?
It's about time they gave us a modern staple in a core set that uses the mechanic. It was a huge mistake not putting Noble Hierarch in the core set with exalted.
What can we do with this card though? What decks run this card?
u srs
Yes I don't know too much about Chord of Calling Except that it's a tutor for creatures, but I feel like that kind if mana is hard to reach in standard. I feel like this is strictly for UG. I'm okay with that though because I have a UG deck.
Clearly they learned their lesson after M13 and Noble Hierarch.
To be fair, that was because Exalted was only in White and Black in M13, not Green or Blue.
Slivers were White, Red and Green and yet Black and Blue each had one rare one. There was no reason at all not to include Hiearch in M13. The best card with a mechanic you're putting into a core set that wouldn't even remotely break standard should be included - like Chord of Calling.
This core set has already more value than THS/BNG and JOU all slapped together.
It shows how bad THS block is.
Low value overall does NOT equal bad in my opinion. I enjoyed what THS block had to offer. This game isn't Pokemon, power creep is real and must be tempered.
I love it when I see people claim that Theros block is low value. What do these people think is going to happen when Return to Ravnica block rotates out? Historically speaking, the oldest block in a set tends to hold the most value until it rotates out because it's staples are already established.
I was feeling bad for trading my Chord of Calling that I had pulled at the prerelease for the original Ravnica. Now not so much. I traded it off at its highest, and now can get another to replace it at half the cost.
I call that a win-win.

Going to have to pick up at least two playsets... Looks like Green's the way to go at the prerelease.
