I like how there's less downside to playing it than Torpor Orb (since it's a creature), it having flash makes it a stronger combo hoser (you don't have to telegraph that you have it), but it's also easier to remove so it's less miserable to play against with your fun blink deck.
So I know everybody thinks that this is amazing, but let me play devil'sadvocateherefor a minute.
Ignoring the fact that "dies to removal" is overdone, hushwing isn't really concerned with removal because you can flash it in to crumple whatever combo they tried to set off. It is the same reason why no one really cares if their Snapcaster Mage gets bolted. It has fulfilled its purpose at that point. Surviving to hit my opponent in the face for 2 is just gravy at that point.
You played JESUS?!?! I heard none of his guys stay in the graveyard, and once you think you have him beat he ALWAYS comes back to win within three turns. I like...WORSHIP him.
Woah, this is really good... agaist my highlander deck. I was wondering if I should buy a box and when a card like this appears, it seems that I'll be buying that box.

Against Splinter Twin Lightning Bolt works as a red version of Dispel. So it actually really does matter if your opponent has an untapped land and 1 CMC instant speed removal in his/her deck. And its ability is a static ability and not a triggered ability so it doesn't quite work the same way that Snapcaster Mage does. It also really does matter if Splinter Twin starts playing Gut Shot in the sideboard just because of this card.
I don't like it because it's white. An artifact creature with flash and 2/1 flying and the ability would have been awesome for other colors to appreciate.

Only problem is you flash this guy in to stop an incoming ETB effect and they bolt him in response (while the creature with the ETB trigger is still on the stack) and the ETB effect happens anyway.

I agree. White already has Stony Silence, Rest in Peace, and all the hate bears. Some of the other colors could really use some love when it comes to sideboard cards. It just seems like the rich keeping getting richer.
I just need to know, this card also is a no go with Ephara, God of the Polis right? Because her ability triggers off a creature coming into play, and because of this creature, you will not be able to draw a card on your opponents upkeep? I gotsa know!

It does trigger Ephara because her ability triggers "at the beginning of each upkeep." So go ahead and try the two out together.

white has all of the hate it is strong in modern just for that (and path). torpor orb is great because it is colourless.
I'd of also liked it to be a black effect just so the hate could be spread to other colours... all black hates is the grave and even that has moved to white.
I hope there are more cards with this effect printed in the future
Cloudman, randomdragon, I believe you are both wrong in your spell interpretations of frying the hippogriff. Let's say that a U/R player puts a splinter twin on a pestermite. They tap it, and the stack creates an incoming, but not yet present pestermite. The W/x player casts the hippogriff in response. It's a spell until it enters the battlefield. So right now, bolt's and other kill spells should not be able to target it yet while it's on the stack. The stack has to resolve first and it has to become a creature on the battlefield, before it can be legally targeted by those kinds of spells. Which means that the Hushwing comes into play, shutting down the incoming pestermite and wrecking the combo because of last in first out. Now you can bolt it, doomblade it, etc. but it's stopped the combo for that turn. Which means that unless the U/R player can drop a second untapper, like an exarch, etc, the W/x player now has one turn to respond, but that one turn offers the chance for sorcery speed removal to come into play.
ToporObird is hate against D&T(not much, but still) , against KikiPod, against MeliraPod, and Against SplinterTwiin in Modern ...
I don't know thought who would play it ... Maybe RW lockdown (as sideboard) or maybe RWU american ( control and agro/midrange-control), maybe even pod decks can use it ...
Does this mean BBE might get unbanned in modern? Any possibility at all?
Cascade triggers when you cast Bloodbraid Elf, not when it enters the battlefield. The Gryff doesn't affect the Elf at all.
sad panda
And even if it did, that wouldn't mean anything. Design for M15 ended a year ago. that was before DRS became problematic so they couldn't have known that DRS would be banned, making BBE safe.
Give Zaliki a CardI must have all the cats!

This is the most exciting card in M15 so far, and probably will be the most exciting card full stop.
Really needs reminder text saying (This means that if your opponent is playing Splinter Twin, they need to start crying now).
So awesome, my head just exploded
