The Vault's flavor text mentions Ugin. While this does not mean much, the fact that they are mentioning him again might mean he will play an important part in Tarkir?
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well. Maybe Ugin returns as the next colorless Planeswalker and he brings with him a whole hoard of dragons and frees Sarkhan from his Bolas-induced dementia. 8D

They have suggested that Ugin is hanging around Sarkhan these days.
Someone needs to talk to Avacyn about that...thing she's apparently wearing.
....It does kinda look like Liliana's clothing....
What's wrong with her outfit? It's the same thing she was wearing in her first version: black dress and thigh-highs. It's just at a different angle by another artist.

She had a cloth that drapes in front that's longer than she is tall and a matching one in the back.
The previous version had that at a length that someone might actually wear.

Really? This outfit seems more purple to me, and more like the cut Liliana of the Veil had....ah well, maybe I'm looking at it wrong.
On the one hand, I like having an Avacyn that I'll actually be able to afford. On the other, I don't like how much less epic she is than her previous incarnation, art included. If you want to see your favorite characters printed again you'd hate for them to get worse because their awesome abilities are part of what made you like them in the first place. Unless this version is from the past it just feels weird that she would grow weaker over time. Oh well, she is not that bad and should be quite fun to play with.

I think it fits. Avacyn is designed to fluctuate based on what Innistrad needs. When she was restored, many demons came with her, as well as a massive amount of monsters were already running rampant after she went missing. Once all of those are fixed and it's normal Innistrad, there's less of a need to make everyone safe from the terrors, and instead she can allow the balance to be a little more lenient so the vampires (and zombies and spirits) don't die off either.
Huh. Can you respond to Perilous Vault's activation by destroying it, or doesn't the "exile itself" clause mean you can't respond to it? I feel suddenly confused about rulings here.

Exiling is part of the cost so there's no chance of saving it in the graveyard.

Sorry. I mean, your opponent activates Perilous Vault. Can you respond to the activation via Naturalize and stop it entirely, or does the fact it exiles itself as part of the activation cost mean you can't respond? Can this be prevented?

Exile is a cost. When you activate it you exile it to use the ability, so once you activate it, it goes away.
"It's fitting that, just as Garruk's journey takes a turn, we see the original Liliana that started him on his dark path."
I know it's their job to pretend to be excited about unexciting things, but could they at least try a little harder? If they wanted a card that accented Garruk's journey with the curse of the Chain Veil, wouldn't Liliana of the Veil be much more fitting?
Interesting new take on Avacyn, takes her from being a very expensive "cheat into play" style creature with a huge effect on the game. To an affordable creature with decent stats (5 for a 5/4 vigilant flyer is pretty awesome) and a couple of nice utility abilities. I sort of wish that the abilities gave actual protection instead of preventing coloured damage but even so she's a solid card that should see play and that i'll be chasing a foil version of for my Captain Sisay EDH deck.
Perilous Vault is a nice take on the Nevy's Disk/O-Stone style of card, it's a bit expensive but a 5th turn board wipe that hits everything (importantly including planeswalkers and enchantments) is worth considering, it's nice that it gives this ability to colors like blue that otherwise lacked it (depending on what counters/draw we get MUC could be a thing again).

A big majority of the outfit is the same but there are some changes if you compare it to the Avacyn 1.0 art, dunno if it's intended but it seems to be an edited version of the Avacyn design where she is hovering above some townsfolk... plus some flowy stuff here and there.

Another thing, the thing that I find rather off with this Avacyn is it missed the fact that she is indestructible in the whole scheme of Innistrad.
Like please correct my Gameplay knowledge, but the 1W ability does not protect Avacyn right?

And then has a Kaiju battle with the Eldrazi.
Not when you compare it to Oblivion Stone in Modern.
I think that he will, since Sarkhan is hearing Ugin's voice in his head and Sarkhan will be in Tarkir.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

I'm happy. Only 1 more mana than Oblivion Stone and wrecks Pod pretty nicely.
and im so dissapointed
