this looks super fun with master of waves. just tap all your tokens to boost them and keep them alive even without the master. I also dig the art, sweet card overall.
This is it, I have solved the upcoming Standard format. I must now go in hiding to avoid the Wizards of the Coast agents who will want me dead for ruining their game. I fear this might be my last post on this forum. Farewell, friends.
I laughed when I read this!
Anyhow, I really like this. I'm liking these Coat of Arms style pumps given to any creature types.
What saddens me most about this card is that even with a god draw of lackey dropping siege gang then convoking into this, you won't kill without other cards.

Drop thopters turn one so you can swing for eight turn two. He'll, while we're at it, make those Memnites instead and swing for twelve.
I actually didn't look much at the goblin tribal in standard. But for Soldier Tribal you can get the artifact out turn 3. How much damage would you do by turn 4 without the artifact?
Best case scenario:
Turn 1 - Soldier of the Pantheon or Favored Hoplite
Turn 2 - Attack for 2 or 1 damage, cast Raise the Alarm or two 1CMC creature
Turn 3 - Cast more 1CMC creature or Raise the Alarm then convoke Obelisk of Urd (You could have attacked for 4 or more instead, but won't since creature are taped for OoU)
Turn 4 - Launch the Fleet for 4 total mana (4 total target). Attack with 8 x (3/3)token soldier + 1 (4/3)Soldier of the Pantheon = Total potential damage of 28
Turn 4 without Artifact - Total potential damage of 10
Well, it would be in a perfect scenario. But even so. Having the artifact out for virtually 0 mana, it just make the rest of the game easier, notably when Elspeth or Brimaz finally hit the field.
Wow, this card seems great for Slivers, Elves, Cats, etc. tribal in EDH and I'm sure many other tribes I overlooked. If you can get this thing in for cheap and abuse it quickly, it can be a powerhouse.

If someone is playing Icy Manipulator against you, you've already won.
I think the fact that you have to cast it on your turn and therefore must sacrifice attackers to help cast it means a lot. However, I understand that if your opp can't kill you with an alpha strike, they won't swing, since your swing back would be worse.

I don't want to be harsh or anything but you need to understand this card is crap, MTG dosent go: turn 1 this, turn 2 that, turn 3 this.. opponent interacts with nothing plays nothing. It's a fun card for tribal decks, it's made for casual player and not for tournament play, how many times will you draw this crap and tap all your guys and mana just to have this give +2/+2 to your TAPPED guys.. and then take a bunch of damage from opponent on the next turn.
This could only see play in an hyper token deck, where your deck produces a bunch of 1/1 tokens and Obelisk was your kill condition, which i expect would never be a competitive deck.

The only way I could think it possible in turn 1 would be if they reprinted Membites in standard. 8 * 0CMC creature in standard + Obelisk.
Why would you want to stop attacking and cast that with your guys? A creature is just better
Hahahaha thats a nice joke.

So 8 heroic guys and only 4 things that target? 4 Elspeth with 22 land? I have no idea how this would work.
