Think what you like. Sure opponent will Interacts with what I play (after all I am not playing alone with myself... gross)
You are right, turn dosen't go Turn1 this, turn 2 that, like a perfect timed clock. I speculated a perfect matchup/card draw. And with that speculation, the result are terifying.
How many time will I draw that crap and tap all my creature? I hope it will be each game before turn 5. Say I give my opponent a free turn attack, because all my creature are taped to convoke that "*****y artifact" How many damage should I expect from him? 3? 5? 10? Hey we are talking a turn 3/4/5 convoke. Most people are building there board up to turn 5.
Agro deck will likely have 3 creature attacking turn 4. What will he do next turn? He will be facing a bunch of 3/3 token.
Control deck might blow up all my creature the turn after that artifact hit the battlefield. He would have done it anyway without the Artifact. Atleast I can use my turn 6 to cast Elspeth and build an army of 3/3.
What did you expect from Obelisk? Sure you have to play it with a bunch of token, I would never play it with Hydra or Kraken tribal. Obelisk is a pressure card and a finish card. Early, it put enough pressure to Agro deck to make him stop attacking start defending. Turn 7? You should have a bunch of creature that would like to attack with a +2/+2 bonus.
Think what you like. But I love that artifact in any situation.
Is it just me or many things in M15 seem to point to a tribal set incoming? (AKA Tarkir) This artifact is just one piece. Other pieces include that M15 containss a vanilla 1/1 wizard, for example. And many goblins.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Is Obelisk of Urd supposed to look like a sliver? Because it kinda does to me.
Anyway, this has EDH applications. I know I want one for Kemba, but in standard, I dunno. It depends on what we get for slivers (I wasn't clear if any of the M14 Slivers were coming back alongside the new cycle.) but I'm still not sure they want this.
The reminder text is adorable. "Your creature can help cast this spell." If that didn't make you squee, you have no heart
I was just pointing out that your math suggesting 1 land with 4 creature to convoke Obelisk and attack for 8 turn two was wrong.
Obelisk require 6 mana.
Your land + 4 creature = 5 mana. 5=/=6.
Well now we don't know if Memnite might be reprinted, but if you want to play modern/legacy with obelisk. Sure you can use Memnite, Thopter and other 0CMC creature. Not sure how efficient it will be to have many 0CMC creature with all different creature type. But you do what you want. I won't judge you.
Understand, Dredge is not really a Magic: The Gathering deck. When a card is playable in it, it doesn't mean it's a tournament playable card. It means it's playable in whatever crazy fantasy world that Dredge operates in.
I want to make a joke about this card, but I already flushed all the bad ones down the toilet.
Gotcha covered.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
This type of effect is worth about 3-4 mana. The ability to cast it for cheaper is fine and a nice bonus. Realistically you're going to be paying about three or four anyway so it's a decent enough trade-off. If you autolose to tapping out once in your creature deck ,it means either you're bad, or don't acknowledge your opponent's board state. Dictate of Heliod is a decent enough card but you pay for the flash. You're also under the fallacy that because the card lets you pay less for it you must tap out your board to cast it. Is the card going to be a tournament all star? Most likely not, but it's a card to keep in mind.
Hmm. Actually alright in a token tribal deck. I think the convoke ability is very strong, not entirely in standard due to the tapped creatures, but in a tribal commander deck watch out. It's pretty good. I want it.
This is it, I have solved the upcoming Standard format. I must now go in hiding to avoid the Wizards of the Coast agents who will want me dead for ruining their game. I fear this might be my last post on this forum. Farewell, friends.
Magical Christmas Land, yet quite palatable.

I believe Obelisk of Urf would include the text "you may cast spells without paying their mana costs."
