Wait, are we supposed to be getting more Slivers in M15? I had sort of assumed they were just an M14 thing... are we getting reprints of the M14 slivers or are we getting all new Slivers? Anybody know? I'm out of the loop I think.
"Slivers!
What? Weren't Slivers M14's thing? Yes, they were, but I didn't want people who made Sliver decks in M14 to never get any new toys to play with. Because Slivers don't reside on Theros, M15 was the only other chance we had to get new Slivers into Standard alongside Galerider Sliver, Predatory Sliver, and the rest of the M14 crew. There is a cycle of five uncommons, many of which play well on their own and are devastating in combination, as well as a new mythic rare Sliver that every Sliver aficionado has been waiting for."
"Or you could check the mother ship, read this thread, use Google, or many of the other forms of finding information for yourself instead of just sounding stupid by saying why print a Sliver land with no slivers. I mean, if you want to look stupid complaining about something that's not true, feel free to continue failing to read before commenting, but I'd suggest otherwise.
Okay, it's clear that this whole 'helpful' angle is one you've not yet equipped yourself to take, so let's go ahead and back into this in a way that forces you to decide, for yourself, if being useful is more important than being haughty. I went through this thread- including both articles posted on the first page- and have yet to see the rationale behind including this land in M15, though that's not to say I reject it as irrational. Oversight or not, for better or worse and one reason or the other, I can't find it. Where, on this thread, can you direct me to a place that addresses this question? You'd apparently direct me to Google and other forums to answer a question you could have just easily answered yourself in far less of the time and space it took for you to sustain your Johnny Sikburn image.
Here you go, the post (quoted only a couple above your original one) with a direct quote from the article that mentioned the fact that we were getting a cycle of Slivers.
I like Soul of Innistrad in BG dredge. Mill him into the graveyard, bring back any Nighthowlers or Heralds you milled. You probably don't want him as a 4-of, though, because he's much worse drawn than milled (you can use Lotleth troll to pitch him now, but post rotation that's not an option).
At least the Slivers in the art are back to their old design... no more of that "Predator" BS.
Couldn't agree more.
This, this, a thousand times this.
They listened to us and Slivers get to be bizarre alien creatures again instead of the Predator. Hooray!
I liked the predator look.
I like the old look too, but the new one was sweet as well.
I liked the concept that the slivers had yet again evolved, this time even taking on a new form O.O i thought the move towards bipedalism was a sign they had started to adapt physical traits from their prey and thought it made sense that they were testing out new forms. I can see why people got a bit miffed because slivers are so iconic buuuut i always equate slivers with the Zerg.. the whole evolve or perish scheme.
Love the old sliver art on the land! Hopefully they got the hint and the slivers in M15 will have old design as well. As for the soul that art is great but not really what I was hoping for in its ability. At least the activation cost isn't as bad as the blue soul.
Very expensive mana sink. Possibly playable in control.
Verdict, activate Mutavault get a token.
Playable in control ? you need a Sliver in play to activate and make a Sliver token...
What he's saying is he has at least 7 lands in play. 1 Mutavault taps for a colorless and activates itself to become a 2/2 sliver. Then he taps 5 lands and the sliver land to put the 1/1 sliver into play.
Yes i know that, but it's not really an option when you have excellent win conditions in standard AKA Elspeth
The only thing is though that the slivers are all uncommons so I doubt they will have either hexproof or indestructible. Or if they do, they won't be aggressively costed
All I want is a sliver that gives Convoke to slivers in your hand.
Such a sliver already exists. It's called Gemhide Sliver.
Judging by the sliver hive art, it seems that the m14 redesign has been discarded. Can you confirm or deny it?

Based on player feedback, we generally pulled back from the M14 look and aimed the M15 slivers less humanoid and more bestial. But there’s individual variation. Some look entirely retro, as on M15’s Sliver Hive. Some are more humanoid, using the ”rearrangeable plates” concept from M14’s design. Some split the difference, lying somewhere between the M14 look and the old look, carving out some new space. You’ll see what I’m talking about when more of M15 has been previewed. But overall M15 represents a visual shift away from the look of M14’s slivers.
So there's a bit of both. It sounds like Sliver Hive is on the far end of what they're doing now, while the new slivers are the other. Personally, that's the area I was most excited to see them carve out, but I know some people were hoping for a more homogeneous look again.
I suspect that the reason that Sliver Hive exists and has the old style of art, is that there is a demand for tokens to use with Sliver Queen (i.e., colorless, but not artifacts), so they want these tokens to fit her look. This card is still really nice in tribal, but the fact that it makes tokens is gravy.
I hope. I'll be sadly disappointed if they re-print the M14 token's art.
Lol, I find it funny that Shandalar was a plane that was basically only important in the obscure MicroProse game and it gets an avatar yet Kamigawa which had an entire block dedicated to it got no avatar much like Soul of Theros, Soul of Ravnica, Soul of Innistrad, Soul of Zendikar, and Soul of New Phyrexia (aka, Mirrodin). They probably didn't make a Soul of Kamigawa because it would probably be the only creature that merits being legendary from Kamigawa (as I feel that the other 6 M15 Soul of >Insert plane here< should be legendary, as well) and like 120% of each permanent in the Kamigawa block was legendary. However, how epic would it have been if Soul of Kamigawa gave each creature in your hand ninjutsu where the ninjutsu cost was equal to its casting cost? That would've been the most broken of all the souls. I would've preferred that as the black soul avatar instead of Soul of Innistrad.
