I know it's only a dream... but tell me that the picture in Forsythe's article (the one in "The Garruk Story" section) doesn't remind you a Polluted Delta!
EDIT: here it is:
Not aimed at you particularly, but I've seen others comment on this: it's literally an M14 Swamp.

I'm so excited about the new Flinthoof Boar cycle (Going the other direction).
Me too, but I hoped that the new cycle would have been enemy colored. Green creature with a blue activation and so on... But still a good addition to M15!
I think Return to the Ranks has the potential to be pretty good, just not as any sort of huge blowout. With a few token-generating support cards in addition to a primarily traditional-creature focused spell base it should actually be a decent option for recovering from a board wipe. Dudes like Doomed Traveler would be sweet, in particular.
Most interesting for me is the "familiar faces" comment regarding the new legendary creature cycle. Returning characters with new cards? First-timers on cards that we know of vaguely from story or flavor text? Plane-restricted or not, given that Garruk is hunting across many planes?
guys, i think i know. i think geralf and gisa of innistrad could get a card this time
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
I think the thing that makes me happiest is that Wizards seems to be trying to hit home every person, and doing a damn good job at it:
The Gimmick-lover: new Garruk vs. your deck thing? Not my cup of tea, but I know people liked the "Battle the..." series, so, this will appease them most likely.
The Commander-lover: 5 new legendaries. Wizards likes to print the big creatures that tend to sway into "meant for Commander" territory, but rarely outright give commanders. I approve wholeheartedly.
The Sliver-lover (or maybe we can call this the "last-core-lover"): Slivers coming back for just a small 3-month shot? That's kinda cool. I know some people jumped at the Sliver deck, so adding a 3-month period of giving them as much as they can have will ultimately be pretty neat. I like them giving the last core set a final "hurrah".
The Limited-lover: I mean, Wizards already does this.
The Standard-lover: The "Soul of..." cycle seems deceptively good. I think too many people are giving it hate, and I feel that they'll do swimmingly, specifically the Soul of New Phyrexia.
Obviously there's more, but I just wanted to say I like that they're going for the community as a whole, and to me it seems to be working out well.
Also, Soul of Shandalar could be the sleeper hit of the cycle. Punish the Enemy is a great mana sink, and one I'd both be willing to use every turn and from the graveyard.
EDIT I'm not a fan of most of the cards designed by people outside WotC. They're so awkward or overdone...
Thanks for pointing that out! Wow! Ob Nixilis! I was hoping we would see him in Planeswalker form, but just seeing him get a new card is pretty awesome.
Green legend doesn't make squirrels, though.
Warden of Beyond is veeery interesting...
I think M15 is possibly the wackiest core set that's been made.
I was hoping to get something more interesing from Isaiah Cartwright (lead game designer for Guild Wars 2), but I guess that's... interesting too. Oh well, every single one of these can't be amazing.
Jalira, Master Polymorphist and Yisan, the Wanderer Bard are really similar... maybe Brian Fargo designed Yisan first and then Wizards made a similar cards around him? They said that there are going to be some Legendary Creatures, but I don't think that these are going to be a cycle. At least Ob Nixilis has nothing to do with these guys... except that he is going to kill them if you use their abilities.
My favorite one is still the Genesis Hydra. Green Nykthos Deck approves!
Am I the only one excited about Soul of Shandalar? Repeated damage to player/creature seems good. And just think if you have Dictate of the Twin Gods? Janky perhaps, but it'll still be fun!

Soul of Shandaral wins games in limited and sealed. 6/6 First Strike is really powerful and repeated well designed damage is awesome.
EDH/Commander is a social format, right? So why don't people use their social skills to discuss what they like and don't like, instead of adopting a list with 60+ banned cards?

Soul of New Phyrexia is the worst though since he can go into any color.
Yeah, all the new cards seem incredibly fear-based, as in fear of cards being good enough to be worth playing overcomes all other considerations.
In the end, we have a bunch of cards with great art, some cool flavor, but none worth actually much in constructed.
My least-unfavorite is the green bard, but how long is it going to stick around? Dies to pretty much any form of red or black removal; you'd have to be an idiot to count on it doing any actual work.
And the red "sacrifice a land for two cards" enchantment....What's the point of drawing cards you don't have land to play?
All of these cards are cool mechanics at a glance, but then you see that they have been weakened beyond any reasonable expectation of actual utility.
I dont like how they autofix new cards in fear on being broken:
-Transmuter dont hitting legendaries: "Oh, no, people can put emrakul into play using this crappy rare!!".
Well, that's certainly part of that, but the nonlegendary clause also means you can play more Transmuters without danger of flipping a second one, which would mean you sacrificed a creature for nothing.
So could Kird Ape be in the set? On the mothership there is a picture of a red ape in a forest and it's mentioned that this time there will be a red creature that triggers something off of forests/ gets a buff when you have a forest out.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
I'm beginning to think that this coreset is the Return to Zendikar. We have Obby, potentially Nissa, confirmation that the Eldrazi have disappeared. Fetch land, man land, and HL3 confirmed?

No they are saying they have creatures that up upgrade if you control a certain land, like Prized Elephant and we are getting a cycle reversed of the one in M13 (the white one this time will work with islands)
People really need to read through the articles. -_-

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
I think that we will be getting at least one multicolored card in this set, in the card image gallery there is a tab for multicolored cards and other (probably tokens and the Garruk the Slayer event card).
Also, this is shaping up to be a very interesting Core Set, lot's of interesting cards already and I really like that we are getting "reprints" that are not in booster packs.
They seemed to have played it a little too safe with these cards, like they've been doing with everything since Theros block began, but even I have to concede they've come up with some fun designs this time around.
