Can all the neckbeards please stop debating depictions of women in fantasy and what they think women want from men? It's just cringe-worthy at this point.
On-Topic: I'm pretty unhappy to see Liliana 1.0 is probably coming back. Liliana of the Veil could really use a reprint.
Just for some baseless optimism-
Perhaps it will indeed be Liliana of the Veil in M15.
I wouldn't be surprised if the artwork for LotV was deemed too racy to put on a product that will be in Toys R Us,
and Liliana Vess may be a choice less likely to get angry emails/phone calls.
Too racy as it sits on the shelf next to bikini carwash Barbie, right?
If the artwork was fine the first time, it's fine now.

To be fair, wizards has had to do censoring before with Nissa's previous iteration when it came to the DotP promotions. But that was because of the ESRB.
It's a shame they didn't keep Nissa's original outfit though; I personally preferred that one to the new outfit.
Also, I'm pretty curious about articulation. It looks like some of the figures lack elbow joints? I hope it's just that they were really good with hiding the joint.
It's not unreasonable to suspect that the art provided will be the ones on the M15 cards, for consistant marketing purposes. Judging by the art they used, I think it's reasonable to say that Chandra will be a reprint, Nissa will be our green walker in her 2.0 form, Jace and Ajani will both get new versions in their original colors, and Garruk will take the spot of the black walker of the set.

That's a lot of new walkers for a core set!
An interesting perspective. It's possible that they only included Liliana because she's the most iconic B planeswalker, which would also be why they used her original art in her mugshot.
Yes Magic is a fantasy game that uses the usually fantasy tropes of muscled men and sexy women. There's also been some really phallic looking worm monsters and a bunch of ****** monsters and it's all really terrible and monsterous and we're terribly sorry and we won't let it happened again.
Speak for yourself, if drawing *****-headed wurms makes social justice warriors cry I'll make it my favorite hobby.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

I would say Garruk is likely black in this set, Green is Nissa. Chances of multicolor cards in Core Sets are low, Nicol Bolas was an exception.
Who knows? Maybe this M15 Garruk will be the multicolor planeswalker representative? Because unless he is totally consumed by the Chainveil Curse I do not see him losing his green ties yet.
Also, I'm pretty curious about articulation. It looks like some of the figures lack elbow joints? I hope it's just that they were really good with hiding the joint.
This makes me curious as well... it would sort of suck if the articulation would be lacking for some of the characters. :/

Attraction is not hard coded into genetics. The only way you could think that is if you completely ignore non-western, non-heterosexual people altogether.
So being gay is a choice a person makes, not something they're born as, according to you?
That's complicated. For some it is, for others it isn't. Same with being trans; not everyone who is trans has felt dysphoric about their gender their whole life or even at all. They've just decided that its for them. You might notice a lot of "You can't be mad because its not their/our choice," type rhetoric comes from either straight allies or very mainstream, corporately funded LGBT organizations. Its more digestable for straight people, because it still implies that non-het sexualities are somehow bad.
Let me ask you again, you said, and I quote "Attraction is not hard coded into genetics." Are you saying, that being gay is a choice? Are you saying that being born gay implies that it's a bad thing?
Also, no, it's important because a common argument is that being gay is abnormal and not natural, it has very little to do with making out to be an affliction. You are by far one of the most hateful people I've seen on here.
Now you're just twisting my words. I said that using the "Its not a choice," rhetoric reinforces the idea that being not-straight is somehow wrong. Gaining straight allies isn't important enough to me that I'm willing to risk internalizing that line of thinking.
As for your question, I already answered it. Its a choice for some and not one for others.
@Demagoguery: You are conflating physical attraction/attractiveness with sexuality. The latter is not a choice while the former, if not a choice, is strongly affected by culture and environment. For example, I am a straight male and I happen to find brunette women physically attractive. All other things equal, a red-headed woman would be less attractive, but it's possible I'd still be physically attracted to her in ways that would not be possible regarding a man.
On the whole, I think this Nissa "artwork" is mildly better than her PW card art (check the neck-line on that one. If that isn't fan-service I have no idea what is) and certainly worse than her depiction in Groundswell, but I don't think it's sexist, or that she or any of them are hyper-sexualized aside from Liliana, but that's her thing (now, that being a dumb trope is a different discussion). Honestly, with their designs being as stiff as they are, and their markings/tattoos/face paint being as jarring as it is, it's hard to claim that any of them are all that sexualized. The Nissa one is kind of cool looking, so I might pick that one up, but on the whole I just hope the next round are better made.
I think we've strayed far enough from the topic, I must commend the new art for Nissa. I hope she's the new green walker in M15.
I'm right there with you - and if the new art is indicative of new cards, I have to say that Nissa and Jace are my favorites, although the angle would be a little odd for a planeswalker card.

Also, why the hell does everyone have a cape?
Because they can FLY!!!!!!
But being serious having a cape would help then ( in flavor) if they happen to planeswalk to a could plane or if they are luck , they can cary something they find in they way (making a bag with the cape).
lol, awesome reference. they should really make a sequel already.

Better in terms of perspective - Liliana of the Veil has the character more angular, with her head dipped. It would make an awkward headshot.
Liliana Vess has a face looking more directly onward and upward - much better for a headshot.

Think again next time don't be a moralist try to think about before go all the way *****ing about sexualit or men vs women ...
Because nobody listens to Edna Mode.
Everyone gets offended over everything these days. Jesus. Everyone chill and worry about yourself.
Anyway, I like action figures. Jace looks emo. Liliana looks like a derp.
