These cards are so damn weird I can't help it but start seeing this as the third un-set. Wordings like this and the other spoiled constructs give me brain damage.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
People going 'Oh it's just a bad Craw Wurm'... You do realize Craw Wurm gets a lot better when it brings something with it, right? Even if you just drafted an actual Craw Wurm after this, it'd be 7 for 2. Which is not bad at all.

Agreed, I really dont' think you need much to make up the ~2 mana you're overpaying for the creature. Theoretically, I'd be looking to target removal or maybe a bread and butter, value common (ie something I should have multiple copies of). I mean, really, does thins guy need to come with anything better than a Hill Giant to be worth playing?
The real question that should probably be asked is, where's the line where this card isn't worth it? Most of the uncommons I sort of feel like this is maybe a third-fouth pick rare, and that you'll often want to pick up high-end uncommons before picking this guy. (I'm not going to lie, I'd love to pick up a Screeching Seahawk after this guy and just go all-in).
One thing I think needs to be remembered when evaluating this card is that the basic land slot is taken up by conspiracies and draft changing cards. This is not your pack rare, and the people next to you will be opening sweet conspiracies as well. Now they are still not going to pass you a bomb, but with the full 15 viable draft-able cards in the pack, the chances of getting a decent card passed to you on your second/third pick is pretty good.
I'm not going to take this over a bomb, but I will first or second pick it if there isn't a bomb in the pack. a 6/4 for 7 isn't the worst stats, and whatever card you get is straight value. Just remember to pick and reveal after the person next to you has taken their pick.
Also we cant forget Magical Christmas land where you draft a clockwork librarian in pack one, and then draft the searcher and a bomb out of the second pack.
Interesting, kind of gets a meh from me BUT I will say I really am skeptical of all of these draft-only cards if they are good for the game, might be a ton of fun to draft but entirely useless outside of it unless you repack all the cards to draft again later...

I believe it only replaces the pack's basic land. So no loss.
Wonder if that would be allowed ...

Whispergear Sneak also lets you plan around this. Still a very interesting draft choice in any case.
