As has been said over and over, this is a real home-run of a batch.
I'm a bit surprised to see so many Legendaries-
other than Norn, most of them will probably be under $20 after a few months,
since they go in far fewer decks than a card like Greater Good
(soooo glad I didn't buy the 9th foil last week like I was tempted, though I may prefer the original art).

Anyone got an estimate for how much Nekusar, the Mindrazer is gonna cost? I don't know how long i can live without one...
Karador, Ghost Chieftain is already down to $30 despite having only been available a couple of months so far.
After another couple of months, I would be fairly surprised if it's more than $20-
It's a card nobody needs multiples of, so I don't see how it could possibly settle for more than Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed,
who is both a Commander and a utility card.
I would expect a similar path for these guys, especially Riku.
Nekusar and Oloro may be a bit more since they seem really popular,
but I'd be shocked if either is more than $30 in a year.

Not a fan of the sword. It would've been sweet if they had gotten Mark Zug to do new artwork to match the Darksteel Swords (Kinda a reversal of what they did for Modern Masters). Lastly, why did they crop the artwork??? The tip of the sword is right up against the frame, the messed the composition up and it looks bad.
The Hanna is absolutely beautiful. And I am definitely getting the Greater Good for EDH.

I've also been hoping for Mark Zug artwork for the newer swords,
and I still hope they do this for MM2. Nice to see others agree- maybe it's more likely.
They haven't done a promo that's new art on the old frame, so maybe that's something they avoid.
The more I look at these, the more they bother me.
FoW, SoFaF, Greater Good, and Elesh Norn are rock solid,
but the others are only playable in a handful of decks.
I don't know if this is a special case or something,
but I don't like how almost half of these are Legendaries from Commander products.
There are LOTS of other cards more in need of foiling/reprint.
They should come up with a way of making these guys in foil
that doesn't involve printing a bunch of promos that less than 10% of even EDH players want.

Not a judge, but I wish they would stop doing so many EDH cards. Granted there's Sword of F&F, but if I were a judge I'd be awfully annoyed at EDH promos constantly.

I vastly prefer the old art as well, and would have loved to see Mark Zug take on the new swords. Especially because it would help make the set match.
That being said, I'll take this version too. I have a thing for promo foil equipment.

Most judges that I've met (though it's not always the case) have the kind of personality where they absolutely LOVE EDH. They're the crowd that really started making it popular as a format. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain a lot of judges liquidate their packs immediately for cash.
Also, I'm getting judge certified soon (hopefully, I'm being mentored right now), I wonder if I'll be able to get any of these puppies!

Also, most judges get these promos from judging at large events. Its difficult to balance wanting to be competitive at large constructed events, while not actually playing in them. My impressions have always been that judges skew more towards the variant formats than the major competitive ones.

Isn't it like, half the promos tend to be highly playable cards throughout the ages (FoW, SoFaF) while the other half is more casual appeal? Seems to me that's always been the case. Half of the promos carry a high pricetag, the other have a high casual appeal. A nice balance, I'd say.

Yep, want pretty much all of these.
I'm slightly upset that this is most likely the only time in the remotely near future there's going to be a Modern frame Force of Will in paper and they're going to be so exceedingly rare that a lot of us may never even see one.

I remember bugging Maro a few months ago about making a judge promo Force of Will and a Phyrexian Elesh Norn, and I wonder how many other people asked him. Someone asked him how they could reprint Force of Will but he said they had to be careful since it's an expensive staple and they didn't want to devalue the card too much. I figured a judge promo would be the best way since they're very limited. I'd imagine they'd make judge promos of other non-reserved staples, like Mana Drain or Imperial Seal.
BTW, consider that the foil Elesh Norn is 70, the judge is more than twice of it. I'll easily say it's still price gouging. Gouging i.e. overcharging.
That would be assuming both are equally available in supply. One was a foil in a pack that was in a print run that spanned 1.5 years. The other, a limited print run distributed to a much smaller pool of individuals.

I think the markup is fair.

Ekcol: The markup, I assure you isn't fair. The fact that in recent years prices have gone up by a significant margin. Some even by 100%, 200% even. These are attributed to the advent of Modern and the explosion in popularity in EDH. It may seem fair in the sense with the reasons I've stated, but the problem I've here is that people have become numbed by the prices. Do you accept it simply because it's stated in black and white? I bought my Norn foils for 10, and see no reason for this Judge foil to be beyond the normal foil. 2+ times the price is seriously beyond imagination.
@ Empathogen: Yea it's probably all hype and gas. We could only hope a handful took the bait. But knowing the number of sharks we've in the waters, they buy them in swaths and batches. I'm worried the majority of those cards are sitting in binders and not in decks.

Yes and no- while there's definitely been a number of casual/EDH promos in the past,
those were cards like Bribery, Doubling Season, and Crucible of Worlds.
I'm not sure how to check on such things,
but I wouldn't be surprised to find out Bribery is in 5-10x more EDH decks than Karador, Ghost Chieftain and Riku of Two Reflections are.
I'll be the first to say that every card deserves a foil printing,
