good flavor, pretty awful card though. I'll not be happy to open this. If only it said artifact or enchantment.
Tell me which artifacts are seeing play right now?
You shouldnt forget that the god weapons are artifact enchantments and many creatures are now enchantments too.
This card will see play 100%.
Well sol ring, mana crypt, mind's eye, gauntlets of power and chaos, SDT, scroll rack, skull clamp, winter orb...
Oh did you mean for standard? Well not everyone plays standard, and for all those people this card is craptacular. It's almost strictly worse than the unplayable erase except in (bleh) standard. Mostly it's just a bummer to get such a vanilla effect at such a high rarity, since the search clause is going to be meaningless in most formats. It's clearly rare for the flavor, not the effect.
Of course Im talking about Standard. This is a Standard set after all so most cards are meant for it. Not really a surprise or uncommon knowledge...
I wish that were the case. Then I could get people saying the infinitely pointless statement "it's good in limited" to hold their tongue.
**** Xenagos will die ( but still hoping that he have planeswalked away after being murdered by elspeth )
If he gets trapped in the godsend, it could set up the MTG movie as an awful buddy movie. Elsepth, the up-tight do-gooder who never lets her hair down. Xenagos, the fun lovin' partygoer who just doesn't stop reveling - until he's trapped in a spear! Together, they're roaming the planes, in search of truth, justice and a damned good revel.
Not sure what the fuss is about. 1W is fair for an instant enchantment exiler. And the labodomy effect is infinatly more narrow than the exile enchantment effect. U/W/X decks don't really need this. The decks with Gods tend to be match-ups U/W/X is already favoured in. I can't think of a deck that really gets an edge here. WotC does this to provide an out to a potential block monster or experimental card design. The odds that this will make the Gods completely unplayable in standard is pretty low. You can put Phenax away though, you plucky people have punished yourselves more than enough already!
Revoke existence was just reprinted last set, couldn't they have shoehorned this onto a different kind of card?
You're also surgical extraction-ing the god in question. That's kinda big. The design space is also different because you can't hit artifacts and this current set has some nice ones.
As a whole, this is one of the few bright spots for the block. It's a home run in terms of design, flavor, and art.
I'm not impressed by the design it feels too Yu-Gi-Oh to me. The effect makes sense but its so specific that it doesn't interact with the rest of MTG that way I like this sort of card to do. True, applying to fifteen cards isn't absurdly narrow but it just bugs me.
It's not narrow at all. Read the card again. It exiles any enchantment card. Then, if the exiled card happens to be a god, you get the icing on the cake of being able to exile the rest of them.
This. It's a nice effect to begin with. The upside if you hit a god is very powerful but you don't need to hit a god, it can be any enchantment.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.

Yeah I wasn't actually asking what you were talking about, I was using feigned confusion to illustrate that not everyone plays the same format you do. Pulling this card is like pulling a stabilizer - a narrow hate card that's incredibly lame to open. Sorry for trying to be subtle.
The fact remains that enchantment-only removal has never been printed at rare since aura mutation. And at least aura mutation's secondary effect is pretty strong. The card is rare for flavor reasons, not because the effect needs to be rare. It doesn't feel rare at all to me.
If Deicide does see play (it will for the first effect), I'll just have to Deicide my own Thassa in response. Sure it's a 2-for-1 but at least I get to say something sarcastic as I deny info while I search my library "looking" for Thassas to exile.
And of course, I will be casting a second copy during my main phase 2.
Really awesome art! I bet a foil version would look REALLY cool.
It probably won't see play outside of Standard and would be limited in the Sideboards. For some reason, it reminds me a lot of Renounce the Guilds with a little less flexibility and a little more upside when played against the right deck (take that Thassa!).
It's a wonderful art, but I can't help but notice that the size of Godsend in that picture seems abnormally large. The blade looks about the length of her torso and about the width of her head.

Insert generic buddy movie title here.
She's a no nonsense planeswalker, come back to an old world to seek answers and help.
He's a laid back, fun loving planeswalker, who just wants to have more power.
Things could not get funnier.
This summer, Owen Wilson (Elspeth) and Ben Stiller (Xenagos) are going to turn this pantheon into a laughathon.
"Mmmmm. I just mmm don't know what I'm mmlooking for you know? You know, it's like. mm answers. You know? mmmmm"
"POWer you know! You stupid doodoomonkeypants! Cmon Satyr, Maytrmatyr, guys! Let's just DANCE? Okayokok?"
With special guest Will Ferril as Ajani Goldmane.
"Rawr. You smell like cat. Wet Cat. [Whispers] I love that."
And Vince Vaughn as Heliod.
"All right everyone, stay vigilant. Ha, that's funny, I just thought of that, wasn't that great? I'm just funny like that, you know, sometimes, out of nowhere, crazy.."
Watch them stumble through it all, laughing all the way, and in the end, find out what it really means to be a planeswalker, and to be true to yourself.
Born of the Good Gods. Coming Summer 2015
I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
It's a wonderful art, but I can't help but notice that the size of Godsend in that picture seems abnormally large. The blade looks about the length of her torso and about the width of her head.
Because it's Magic. Magic can explain perpetual movement, self-enlarging weapons and elephants riding magic carpets.
Wizards: "Let's make the gods constructed playable in this set" "BUT WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE U/W CONTROL HAS A SIDEBOARD INSTANT-SPEED ANSWER"
You know, on top on of the eight spheres and the counterspells... yeah, I'm abandoning my plans on building a deck around Athreos, at least in Standard. Not to mention that with all the enchantments that will be around, this might be maindeckable. Let's hose 15 mythics in a block.
It wouldn't make sense flavor-wise, but I'd rather expect something like this in the Fall set to make us move on to its new mechanics, not now already.
Good card for the block, but they should have just made it any enchantment. Its almost unplayable outside of block/standard.
It can exile any enchantment.
If you talk about it taking away all copies of any enchantment this card would have been just broken. Yes I exile all your Underworld Connections, Detention Spheres, Courser of Kruphix, your gods etc.

Black Lotus is broken, Yawgmoth's Will is broken. Being able to exile all copies of one enchantment isn't. Look at Scour, it's an old card that cost 4 and is uncommon. With Decide being rare and the fact that we are getting all these powerful enchantments, I think we need an updated version of Scour. Adding the God stipulation just makes the card unplayable.
I feel like this card is more preventive (preventing the meta being too God-centered) than really powerful in itself. It mere possibility reduces the god dependency in decks, but in turn in a Godless meta it would be weaker than other alternatives, so it wouldn´t be used, and Gods would appear again.
Just a regulator, although it´s a headbutt-ish one.
Well said.
If the meta does become 'Godless', we'll have to see if cards like Master of the Feast take off. Galerian made me realize that it also answers Enchantment Creatures so I really think that this card has a lot potential. Its playability will probably be similar to something like Dark Betrayal maybe? It will definitely replace Revoke Existence and maybe Wear/Tear in some sideboards.
How about "You may discard your hand, pay 5 life, rip this card, remove 3 digits from any number of target fingers you control, and concede at the end of the next end step rather than pay It Will Go Through!!'s mana cost.

The difference is that when Scour was legal it wasn't during an enchantment block. People are maindecking Revoke Existence sometimes and with the new block having even more enchantments I fully expect white control to run 2 Deicide in their 60.

Actually Urzas block was an enchantment block, it was where Scour was first printed.
@urweak unplayable? It is an instant speed answer versus one of the most used card types on standard. Revoke existence sees maindeck use, and the only thing it does better than this is exiling godsend. The god clause makes this an answer against thassa, mainly, maybe versus athreos depending on how much play it sees- it makes the card better, not worse- let alone unplayable lmao
I think you missed the part where I clarified that I think the card is unplayable outside of Block/Standard. It's in the nested quotes if you read carefully.
I wish that were the case. Then I could get people saying the infinitely pointless statement "it's good in limited" to hold their tongue.
why wizards like to kill planeswalker that have just apeared for the 1st time ( as cards ) ( Venser, Xenagos , possibly Koth)?
