That dictate is quite easily the worst of the cycle.
And I'm not particularly stoked that a format that already includes Detention Sphere, Chained to the Rocks, and Banisher Priest gets another card in the same mold. Like, that's some extremely lazy design to me.

It means that nonblue white decks can get a noncreature way of exiling creatures.

"De potentia juvenis somniabat, nunc de Mundo somniat..."
So the question is now... do you play 4 detention sphere and 4 o-ring? 2 detention sphere and 4 o-ring? 4 detention sphere and 2 o-ring? what is the split?

Bring back Transmute as a U/B mechanic and take your mill back to the depths of hell where it came from!
These previews make me quite excited. Grave Pact is my favorite card and a grave pact with flash makes me super happy :). New Mesmeric Fiend and Oblivion Ring are great as well.

It's pretty game ending in Limited but I they've been clear that the Dictates are aimed at EDH. Dropping it to punish a person who thinks they have a one sided sweeper will bring people a lot of joy.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Dictate of Erebos is an interesting take on Grave Pact.

Interesting = So much easier to play in 3 color decks + combat trick.
Holy crap, that's such a good card to see. First they make Furnace of Rath easier to play and then Grave Pact. Niiiiice Wizards.

They aren't reprinting necro in any form ever again...although I wish they would.

The new Oblivion Ring everyone was expecting showed up pretty quickly after the new rules tech was revealed.
You mean non-blue non-red white decks that aren't aggressive enough for Banisher Priest?

Won't be a replacement for Grave Pact in a monoB deck, but man that art is awesome.
