Oh hey look! It's the expedition cycle from Zendikar!
These are more like the capsules from Alara. Kind of underwhelming, but potentially abusable. I'm particularly interested in the green one and to a lesser extent, the blue one.
3 mana farseek, 1GG. I don't know if that is good.
Think of it this way: If you dropped the Font of Fertility on Turn 1, you can play nothing on Turn 2 and respond to your opponent's play with a counterspell or a Lightning Strike. If not, you can crack it at the end of their turn. It's not the best card out there but it's certainly not the worst. It should be fine in limited.
I really like the flavor, since the people of theros have lost there devotion, the enchantments don't stick around to count for it, and they could be worse, i kinda like the black one
i killed a cerberus barehanded, snuck past polukranos, and ran away from some flesheating boar and all i get is this awful deer
pls
Right? I'm thinking "this is going to be some sweet artifact or possible a land". Nope, a deer...
I would have slaughtered the **** out of that deer if I had to do all that and found it waiting
I think it's fair to say that Harness by Force is a ways better than Traitorous Blood, given that it can target any number of things. Granted, it's kind of useless in more casual formats because Insurrection is a card after you start trying to target more than two creatures, but I think this could see some constructed play.
Disciple of Deceit seems breakable. Also, I am really happy that Dictate of Karametra finally got its Rampant Growth effect, even if it is a much worse version of Rampant Growth.
Jesus Christ why are so many commons and uncommons constructed unplayable in Theros block? Can they throw us a bone?
inb4 "muh limited", 90% cards are good in limited
in before namedropping the three uncommon/common cards across the block so far that see play in constructed and 0 play in modern
Are you a masochist?
I went back and checked. Out of every single spoiler from this set, the previous set, and Theros, you had something positive to say a grand total of 7 times. If spoiler season makes you this bitter and resentful towards every single card, why bother playing?

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Has anybody noticed the flavor text on the RW card where they reference Gideon Jura by his Theros name?
Do you mean it's an actual alias of Gideon's?
Try pronouncing it. It's kind of like a Grecized version of his name.

“A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there. It aint the heart of a creature that is bound in the way that God has set for it. You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”
― Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West
Given the bad power level of the Fonts, they probably were good enough in synergy with constellation (in limited of course).
I wish they just reprinted the seals or better yet, a new cycle of seals.
Love the art of Harness by Force.
Of course the Transmute in Disciple of Deceit is great, but I sill don't like Inspired as a mechanic.
I LOOOOVE Trasmute Looter!!! This could defiantly see play, especially in singleton formats. Repeatable tutoring and card filtering is nothing to sneeze at, especially if you can discard flashback or other yard shenanigans.
The enchantment cycle is solid. The White and Black ones aren't amazing, but the Green, Blue and Red ones all have potential. The Bkue and Green might even be constructed playable. Yes, it's a slow Rampant Growth, but it being an enchantment could lead to tangible advantages. The other advantage is that if you don't need the land late game it will provide some devotion.
Harness by Force is serious business. A multiple target Treathen effect can swing a game around real fast, or simply crush any chance of opposition.
The Mana Elk is cute and a decent Limited card. Desperate Stand also seems like a beating in Limited.
Disciple of Deceit is interesting. Transmute isn't drawing a card, but it does give you tons of flexibility. I wouldn't be surprised if this card saw play, for some reason. The interactions might be there.
You captured the Golden Hind, it's the only thing that can kill a god!

My 540 Card Cube (WIP)
pls
Why couldn't a Transmute effect be on Phenax? Instead of that mill thing he does?
Act of Treason that can snag multiple creatures at a time (even if at a high cost) is definitely rare.
Draft my cube! (630 cards)

A strictly better version is, apparently.
unfortunately act of treason mana at rare would be to strong, so they made it tratorous blood mana cost without the trample

That is amazing and I'm surprised I hadn't noticed that.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Huh, does the Order of Heliud (from the Purifying Fire novel) which Gideon investigated have anything to do with Heliod?
Do you mean it's an actual alias of Gideon's?

Please Wizards, enough of these stupid cycles, it makes the game so much worse...

Golden Hind helps City of Ass if you have an Ass deck.
