She's kind of bizarre. The 'owner's' clause is strange.
I'm surprised she even has anything to do with the graveyard at all. I truly expected something juggling life loss / life gain with her whole potion shtick.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
She's still better than any of the ally-colored "minor" gods. Stop complaining, she's awesome for commander, and a nice SB option at the very least for standard dredge.
Who gives a rats ass about Commander?
Commander this, Commander that. Some people don't care and will not care. Like me.
This card is Standard unplayable, it needs mana to do anything. And tons of standard players had waited for her and wished for her to be good.
So maybe it's you who should stop going on about Commander and start complaining

if only brand or homeward path were in a format to play with her... would negate the 'owner' factor and make for some really interesting combat sequences.
She really isn't even that great for EDH. There are other ways of destroying your opponents graveyard that don't involve them getting free Deathtouchers. And I wouldn't even think of using the ability on my own graveyard. Exile precious graveyard resources for a 1/1? No thanks.
Never heard of political cards? All of the gods are targeted at a different section of the player base.
Thank god they made it so the owner of the card you exile gets the snake. I can't imagine how badly paying 2 mana for a situational Sedge Scorpion would've just broken standard in half.
Do you really think that using a card for a 1/1 deathtouch is equivalent to not using a card for a 1/1 deathtouch?
I don't think the steps you need to go through to get a 1/1 deathtoucher from Pharika are all that much better.

I'm filing this one under garbage. The owner thing poopoos the ability completely, because those colors want stuff in the yard to do degenerate things, not make garden snakes.
Dude, chill out. Some people play some formats, other people play other formats. This isn't the Modern forums or the Standard forums or the EDH forums, we can discuss whatever we want, thank you very much. You discuss her impact in legacy/modern with other legacy/modern players, he'll discuss it in standard with other standard players, some other people will discuss it in EDH, some others in limited... we're all one big happy family.
EDIT: Whoops, I didn't see that you were responding to someone being equally intolerant. In that case, everything I said is directed at him, not you. My bad!
I really need to remind myself to come back to this thread 2 months from now, because the sheer number of people thinking this is a bad card is hilarious. 3cmc is already outstanding. The utility of making instant speed DT blockers is outstanding. The ability to gain further value from dead dudes is amazing. Add to the fact that black and green currently have some of the best devotion enablers (BTE, Jarad, Nightveil, Tusker, etc.), and you have a legitimate beater that also gives you some sweeper recovery or an oustanding Jarad Fling target.
I can't believe people are actually complaining that the controller of the graveyard gets the token. Pharika is a house.
Bummer, not even an equal variant of Necrogenesis, Night Soil, or Drudge Spell. I'm quite disappointed at the "Its owner puts" part of the ability. Was Necrogenesis so overpowered they had to move it to mythic and make it worse?

Its just like those who complain about cards designed for limited being "Junk rares". They aren't supposed to be made for constructed, they're supposed to cater to those who play limited. No one wants the Centaur lord to be uncommon in a sealed format, its just they feel the need to complain.
This is awesome for those of us who play commander; or BG dredge in standard. Pack Rat needs mana AND cards to do anything, but guess what? It's insanely good. Now, admittedly this is no pack rat, but arbitrarily saying that "it needs mana to do anything" as an argument against it is just plain terrible rhetoric. Also, this is easily splashable in either black devotion or green devotion as a 5/5 indestructible beater, in addition to granting access to Abrupt Decay and Golgari Charm to the deck. So no, I don't need to start complaining.
For what it's worth, the opposite of evergreen is "deciduous" so I suggest we start using that from now on to refer to shroud, banding, islandhome, etc.

I was going to say something snarky about standard not being the only format etc., but I'm just going to assume you were being sarcastic.

I think it's pretty good in the right deck. Two mana to murder a non-evasive creature at the expense of one thing in your graveyard. Holds off attackers 'til you can reanimate some fatties.
Seems meh against non-creature decks though. I think it's a good one or two of in main or side, depending on the meta.

Trolljutai, YOLOghan, Swagumgar, Bromoka, and Derptarka, the Elder Dragons.
This is the secret EDH card of the set but no one will notice because they think EDH is just for things with high CMC.
Yeah, good call. Her templating lets you play politics as well as manage graveyards. "You're being attacked? Have a deathtouching blocker." Multiplayer is a different beast like that.

On MTGO as Protoman.
On 7/14/10, broke 1900 mark! <3 ROE.
AM I the only one who remembers that every one of these token trigger constellation cards like... Oh I dunno... Eidolon of Blossoms? This card is NUTS and it WILL see standard play.

This card is Limited annoying. It's a 5/5 indestructible and it's ability doesn't match the story Wizards has been building up.
So maybe you could stop going on about money formats, and enjoy the damn game?

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

Eidolon of Blossoms, unfortunately, isn't all that good. It will only take one really good constellation card to break this, though.

- Thassa is slightly easier to animate
- Thassa's activated ability is better
- Thassa has a genuinely useful triggered ability.
Well, she costs 3. That's really cool.

Don't like giving your opponents deathtouch snakes? Pharika's own Archetype of Finality takes care of that. Enjoy your 1/1's.

Yeah, good graveyard hate does not include giving your opponent 1/1 deathtouch creatures to fudge up your combat strategies.
