I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Nice, not sure if it'll make it in constructed, but a 7/7 for 6 is solid and if you play an 7th land the next turn you can monstrous for 3 making it a 10/10 and getting 3 3/3 hydra tokens (an excellent deal). If it had trample (or haste or protection etc.) it would definitely see play somewhere, as it is it might see play as a 1-2 of in green devotion.
It might even make the cut as a 1-2 topper in standard, no? I mean, on curve its a 10/10 followed by a 3/3, 3/3 & 3/3.
Not too many finishers are available that dodge removal anyway, so you can't hold that against it

I could really see this as a 1-of/2-of curve topper in Standard. The monstrosity ability can get out of hand really, really fast, especially for decks that focus on 1-for-1 removal to control the board.
Otherwise, solid beater in Limited, and will swing the game in your favor if you get to untap with it. Unless a flying, heroic voltron is doing you in, but then again that does most things in.
I like this in combo elves A LOT. This could get annoying really fast in conjuction with Cloudstone Curio. If you can generate infinite mana, then you get infinite X/X's. With Cloudstone Curio, though, you generate infinite X/X's and then you could theoretically bounce all elves and Hydra Broodmaster back to your hand to do it again next turn.
Unfortunately, since the tokens don't have haste this isn't good enough for Dictate of Karametra.
you could "flash" the tokens in EOT, but if you do that the turn you play Dictate, you have less mana. You could totally run it with Propeth of Kruphix though. I have hopes for GU this season...

You could, but as you said there would be less tokens and they'd be weaker. And you are definitely right about UGx this season.
my Jarad, Golgari Lich-Lord deck is developing a major Hydra sub theme.
This could also be fun in standard once Cyclonic Rift rotates.
