This is why I like Monstrosity way more than Tribute: Already good body for the cost, and then on top of that you get a Gelatinous Genesis trigger for Polukranos costing.

7/7 for 6 is already pretty nice. Even better if you keep in mind Green's ability to ramp. The Monstrosity can be easily paid in the right devo decks. Plus, it's a flavorful Hydra. Always like that.

This is really close to being playable in standard, but I'm not sure it can make the cut, it really depends on how good green devotion is post rotation. I doubt it's good now because u/w/x control is everywhere, but post rotation there's a lot less removal.

If MTG is a part of your life, the formats are like relationships:
Standard/Block = The on-again, off-again holiday fling
Modern/Vintage/Legacy = Stable, homely. A ***** after absence/misreading
Limited/Sealed = Heart breaking free spirit
Commander/Cube = Agreeable, needy and expensive
Pauper/Peasant = Sweet, kind, practical, but shy and boring
This looks like a really fun timmy card, and it seems at least okay for EDH. I'm pretty skeptical about seeing it in (competitive) constructed, though. Are there any decks that are really in the market for an unprotected 6-drop that doesn't do anything if it dies before you untap? It's a powerful effect for sure, but with RG monsters already cutting Garruk, Caller of Beasts (a 6-drop that provides significant immediate value, is at least somewhat harder to kill, and is good in the problematic control matchups), I don't think there are any Standard-competitive decks that want what this Hydra is selling.
It's going straight in my Mayael the Anima deck, though.
It might even make the cut as a 1-2 topper in standard, no? I mean, on curve its a 10/10 followed by a 3/3, 3/3 & 3/3.
Not too many finishers are available that dodge removal anyway, so you can't hold that against it

I love stupid big monsters, nothing I can do bout that
Good question:
Would Training Grounds reduce the xx cost of it's monstrosity?
It's going straight in my Mayael the Anima deck, though.
Yes, it would. With Training Grounds out, you would get 3 3/3's for 5 mana, 4 4/4's for 7 mana, etc.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
