I support any and all new tribal lords! Even if I don't like centaurs much! I hope one day I'll get my Squirrel and Wolf lords.
Forgetting about this guy or does it have to be a squirrel? More on topic, mediocre rare tho to powerful at uncommon? what with merrow reejerey at uncommon maybe not...
There's about a dozen centaurs in standard that cost 3cmc, two that costs 2cmc (call of the conclave included), and the rest are more expensive than four.
Who that this would be a good idea? It's not even undercosted and it's green. There's no +1 counter synergy, not even a G devotion synergy. This would have been 10x better as 1GG or should have been more powerful at 2GG.

This rare sucks.
Odds are we're going to be seeing more centaurs in the next block, given it's looking to be mongolian themed.
I wish all of you that want this at uncommon to travel to alternate dimenssion where this is true and play against a guy who drafted/opened in sealed 2-3 of them and just pwns you with his crappy centaurs... you don't know for what you're wishing. It's incredibly brutal lord despite his tribe being medicore at best at the moment.

Here's my solution
1) Make rare spot removal cards uncommon
2) Make rare "limited only" cards like this uncommon
3) They will cancel each other out! (according to the logic of you guys)
With this guy available we might see some tier2 standard decks that are G/W/r splashing for xenagod all because how can you not love centaurs. Even if they aren't a great deck it anyway has plenty of strong creatures. Call of conclave centaur healer fated intervention abs now this guy can only hope for a decent 2 and 3 drop to run once rotation happens.
Idk maybe I'm just partial to centaurs and see more potential in them as a worthy 1.5 or 2 tier deck that can be tough for even tier 1 and 1.5 to deal with
Not a standard card, but since every single Centaur in the block is highly Limited playable (and there's a very limited playable instant that poops out two centaurs) I would love to see this guy P1P1.

He's definitely good, but I want an actual 1GG Squirrel that pumps other squirrels and does something else, either generating squirrel tokens or something interesting!

Any of the uncommon lords from Lorwyn is probably bad precedent, as they ended up disliking Lorwyn limited for how complicated the boardstates were, partially because of the availability of lords everywhere. Add to that the fact that this isn't a tribal block and it makes sense for the lords to be rare, as they're intended for casual appeal, not build around strategies in limited.
There were powerful lords at uncommon in Lorwyn because it was a tribal-themed block. When something is a block theme, they -always- make more of the things that support that at higher power at lower rarity. The default rarity for lords that give +1/+1 and grant an ability is rare and it has been since alpha, outside of blocks that are trying specifically to have a tribal theme or subtheme. See Rageblood Shaman, Captain of the Watch, Elvish Archdruid, Master of the Pearl Trident, Cemetery Reaper, Goblin Chieftan, Lord of the Unreal, Knight Exemplar, Captivating Vampire, Merfolk Sovereign, and so on, all the way back to the beginning. Uncommon lords outside of blocks with strong tribal themes or subthemes aren't unheard of, but they're heavily outnumbered by rare lords. The fact that this is a reasonable guy even with nothing else on the board and that it grants two keywords makes it an obvious rare.
If we're going to have bulk rares, I'd much rather have interesting lords (multiple effects, not 3 mana, unique tribe) like this that will show up at a casual FNM brew than a Mindreaver or Whims of the Fates.
The rough english translation looks like
Enjoy
At least, there's enough centaurs in the current standard to make a centaur fan deck:
4 Experiment One
4 Call of the Conclave
4 Swordwise Centaur
1 Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage
4 Centaur Healer
1 Courser's Kruphix
4 Chronicler of Heroes
4 The new centaur lord
2 Fated Intervention
1 Hall of Truimph
It's got more than 10 different strategies you can choose from.
Comment about it here.

Giving out not one, but two keywords is a good enough reason to keep an eye on this guy, I think. It also combines nicely with Stonebrow, Krosan Hero.
