It'd be so much, much stronger than mind control if its bestow was 3uu. It would be ridiculous.

“A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there. It aint the heart of a creature that is bound in the way that God has set for it. You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”
― Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West
I'm surprised this wasn't a 2/2 like it was originally intended to be. Actually it was supposed to be a dragon as well costing 2 and bestowing for 5. I wonder why they made it this bad :/
Source on this 'original version,' as I have a hard time seeing:
1. Red getting to permanently take control of a permanent.
2. A dragon in blue, that's a Bear, and all upside.
My local judge posted a blank version of it on Facebook awhile ago. It was blue.
Never red.

Anyone who thinks this should have cost less than six should just. stop. posting in preview threads. Seven is pretty conservative but five or four are crazy.
I think it's got mojo in Mono Blue Devotion. There are some creatures that are extremely hard to beat, like Polukranos or Archangel of Thune. This solves all the problems that Domestication had, and while not as efficient as Rapid Hybridization at dealing with must-kill creatures, you still get that option of a blue 1/1 flyer. And no, 7 mana isn't much of an issue, not when there's an option to play it for 1 mana. The deck usually runs 25 lands with Nykthos.
Heck, you can run 16 flying 1 drops if you were inclined to abuse Bident. That sub-archetype of blue devotion has popped up before.

The problem I was having was with the collection of facts there, Dragons aren't generally in blue, and blue isn't generally given 2/2s for 2, let alone 2/2s for 2 with flying and an upside effect. Hence my question of source.

At least it's a hot Flying Men. Siren tribal anyone?

I mean, it's not a powerhouse, but its built-in tension is great and you want it in your deck. Great card for the format.
