“A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there. It aint the heart of a creature that is bound in the way that God has set for it. You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”

Come on MTG! all Black Mythics from M14 to Journey are not usable in standard! all cost way to much. I would appreciate at least one Black mythic that cost less then 6!

You have to feel bad for black mages. All these years waiting for mono-black to finally be playable again, and always complaining when it wasn't, and now they get these crappy mythics. I guess Wizards should throw them a bone again or something. /sarcasm
This is a very awesome card, but why was the wording of this ability changed from its first appearance on mindslaver? What was wrong with the original wording? Technically, the card allows its caster to make decisions for the other player, but does not actually control the player themselves. I also am very glad that this card exiles itself, since it would be far too powerful if it could be replayed after having been played once.
I'm mad this card exiles itself. Mindslaver does the same thing an is likely more abusable since you can combo it with a million things that bring artifacts back from the graveyard.
I was wondering when they were going to make this a sorcery! Fun idea...for that cost I wish it were an instant...
Think about this. How would this card be much better if it were an instant? It would be fun in EDH for surprise factors (although in general its just a feel-bad effect) but otherwise what does that do?
A lot, actually. End of your turn I cast this card. Now I'm free on my turn instead of tapping out to cast an 8 mana sorcery and then passing, I'm free to set up your demise by casting other stuff like bomb creatures or another large spell such as Army of the Damned or Rise of the Dark Realms. .

I think they regret not making Mindslaver exile itself. Rosewater imagined a Timmy/Johnny card where people would find themselves in board states they might not have imagined before. Turning mindslaver into a repeatable prison lock was probably not the card's purpose. Worst Fears is just a fixed black version of mindslaver.
But can he choose to rip his cards to pieces?
Can the player who's turn has been taken over concede?
The player who's turn has been taken over can indeed choose to concede. As for the ripping cards to pieces, I suppose if he doesn't mind being disqualified, getting a game loss, probably banned, and/or getting his ass kicked; then sure, there's nothing stopping him from doing that.
i mean how good is that ability any way? what u tap them out and thats it
I can only assume you've never had the pleasure of playing vs/with Mindslaver or Sorin Markov. All kinds of fun stuff can happen; such as targetting them and/or their creatures with their own burn or removal spells, attacking into unfavorable board states, casting tutors and failing to find anything, countering their own spells, sacrificing permanents to effects, buffing opposing creatures....need I go on?

Idk, I'm a little doubtful they'd print a combo with it in the same block without noticing (Bringer of the White Dawn). as far as intentions and regrets, who knows, you could be right. but they surely knew it would/could show up when they designed those two cards. but then again, this was the same block that thought 6 artifact lands with the affinity mechanic would be fine and balanced.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

Let's see, in black
-you can sac everything they own to your desecration demon
-force them to attack so you can choose to block with bigger guys
-counter their own spells (you can choose to make them syncopate for 0 and not have them pay for it for counters)
-burn their own creatures with burn spells.
-burn themselves with burn spells
-kill their creatures with their own removal
-pick bad piles for them with Jace, Architect of Thoughts (pick the 0 pile)
-activate Jace's ulti for land
-make Vraska kill herself
-Use Kiora on your planeswalker (prevent all damage dealt to your walker)
-Stop Elspeth for ulting -3 herself (if you have no target for her to wipe, even better)
-make your opponent sphinx's revelation for zero
-detention sphere your opponent's own permanent
-control their scry (via Thassa)
-cast Master of Waves, kill off the tokens by Rapid Hydralization their own Master of Waves.
-Make them overextend on creatures and kill them all off in one turn.
-Discard good cards to pack rats and then proceed to kill their pack rats with their own removals
msun: Knives scoop ice cream.
Highroller: No they don't, knives don't scoop. Spoons scoop.
msun: Well, knives SHOULD scoop icecream.
Highroller: We have spoons that do it. Moreover, the shape of a knife that would scoop ice cream would make it horrible for performing the functions of a knife.
msun: Highroller, you bring up spoons as though they were the utensil used for scooping ice cream.
Cool card. Exactly what a mythic rare should be. Janky/ fun game twisting effect.
To all those that complain about unplayable mythics in standard - you have already fallen into the money trap.
When mythic rare's first came out Wizards said they would not make standard staples mythics.
They lied.
And another victim of misreading. WOTC had stated that being Mythic did not mean that the card would instantly be a must-have-4-of in tournament decks, NOT that there'd be no Standard Staple Mythics. And generally, aside from a few outliers, most of the mythics HAVE been big, splashy, amazing cards rather then 4-of-tournament-staples. So no, Wizards did not lie. Just a lot of folks decided to read their words to their own liking.

Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.

Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Fun card for casual and EDH, and good use of a mythic slot if we actually mean it when we complain that we do not want rarity to reflect power level. It's very unique, very splashy... that's mythic alright.
