Finally a spell to get rid of the abomination that is Bestow. Cant let people voltron up some creature with other creatures who all fall off once the original creature dies like it is already the case in Limited.
Although it would have been nice to have it a bit cheaper but then the creature brigade would have complained again kinda like they do now in the current Standard.
This doesn't seem black at all. Exiling to me was always more white. This card is just expensive and evil. I really like the art and name but I really don't see where the exiling with auras becomes part of black's persona. That art is not very exiling like either. It's still good, and it can remove gods, which is scary.
the art on this card is so brutal! party's over ya damn satyr revelers.
as for the card itself, seems pretty good in EDH. just striving for one extra target is pretty effective, particularly when there are avacyns or gods around. sideboard in standard perhaps? i don't think this card is anywhere near as good as hero's downfall because it can't kill planeswalkers.
This card could easily see play in standard. Sure its expensive... but its an instant speed removal effect that can hit gods. moreover if you draw it in games where you have drawn 15+ lands... (which has happened to me) its a quasi board wipe.
Man...Wizards seems to think black is still the underdog. They are giving them so many options.
Black deserves it. Do you realize what it was like playing black or predominantly black decks from Lorwyn up until Theros ? It was a disaster on huge proportions.
I hear that a lot, but I guess I don't understand why. Black has had some great removal the past few years. Jund has been a great archetype for a long time. And Lorwyn? C'mon, didn't you get Bitterblossom?
Faeries was a blue deck that that splashed black for Bitterblossom and Thoughtseize. That's it. 2 cards.
Jund was RG deck that splashed black for Blightning, Broodmate Dragon and Terminate. This time it's 3.
Neither of your examples were predominantly black decks. They were just decks that did light splashes. The way it's been since Lorwyn is that black has gotten 1 or two really strong cards in a block but with everything else being awful usually due to high mana costs.
Ah that makes more sense now. What about other years? Weren't there a bunch of strong black vampires in Zendikar? (I don't speak from experience since I did not play during Zendikar of Scars blocks.) In Innistrad zombies was a very competitive archetype, and I know Jund did very well in RTR with some monoblack cards and several black multicolored cards.
Naw, Jund back then played more than 3 black cards. It played blightning, broodmate, terminate, maelstrom pulse, putrid leech, bituminous Blast, and sometimes sprouting thrinax. It's very heavy on the black if you wanted it to be. Just because it's a BBE deck + bolt, doesn't mean it isn't heavy on black. You can see a sample decklist here. This particular deck has equal representation from all 3 colours.
Standard monoB vampires were a thing back then, just tier 1.5.
The blocks involving innistrad obviously have Lilianna, unburial rites, Olivia, etc. Wizards treated black pretty well in Innistrad in general.

This new card is pretty sweet, especially in EDH where 7 mana isn't unheard of and getting rid of Avacyn at instant speed is pretty important.
Oh, the stupid interactions this has with the gods.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
Just realised that I’ve been misreading the Strive mechanic all this time! Targeting one creature costs 2BB、but an additional target will cost the casting cost AND the extra 2B。In other words、you have to pay an additional 4BBB to target a second creature。

No dont think so. The article makes that clear.
One creature costs 2BB, two creatures cost 4BBB, three creatures cost 6BBBB etc.
I like the card a lot, can probably take the place of a Far/Away in some lists that I run. I'll be the voice of dissent on the art though. It's graphic, sure. But certainly not great. Not after Ashiok, anyway.
hmmmm..... better or worse than Sever the bloodline?.. that is actually a hard question.
Depends on the format, in standard right now, id say better than sever the bloodline, and also against newer edh players. but if you have some tokeny friends, or you want to utilize your graveyard more, severe the bloodline

To be fair, jund played sprouting thrinax and putrid leech. Black during Innistrad though was basically a support or splash color (for things like drownyard and lingering souls). A lot of decks played black to get one strong effect and that was it.
EDH is like French fries: some people like waffle cut, crinkle cut, or plain old straight cut, and while there's slight flavor difference and personal preference, at the end of the day they're still fries.
More rare spot removal - Yuck. Should be common, MAYBE uncommon.
I also don't like how it's worded. "Exile any number of target creatures" gives the impression that's what the card does. (It would be overpowered at 2BB, but still.) A better wording would have been:
Multikicker 2B
Choose target creature, then choose another target creature for each time ~ was kicked. Exile those creatures and all Auras attached to them.

This would never be common, especially nowadays. It's a potentially devastating card that can generate tons of card advantage in limited, especially with bestow as a significant part of the format.
This card will play a very similar role in standard as did Sever the Bloodline. Helped stop the graveyard decks (g/b dredge is a thing now, and will be next season too)
Fine card, expect things to need to actually be exiled. (Ashen Rider)
Great now black can wreck you if you play bestow cards in standard.
This might be the best card in the set or in the block for limited, seeing as the format is all about sticking a threat and slapping a bunch of stuff on it. This killing all bestowed auras on its target is a huge blowout, and then there's even more blowout potential if you get to 7 mana.

Agreed.
I dont play Limited but I know that Bestow is a really big part of it. Everyone who gets this card will wreck opponents left and right Im sure.

Doubt it, we just had GY themes in ISD. No need to go back to that so quickly.

Honestly, I was really looking forward to playing something other than mono-b, but apparently, wizards says no.
