I get why this isn't an enchantment (text doesn't fit), but from a Vorthos perspective I think it should be and have the appropiate Nyx border. I even wonder why it's not red, knowing who forged it.
6 is a huge amount of opportunity cost to get a creature up and running and even at that point you've got it on a 2 drop that might already be removed.
Very, very clunky. Cool card but too slow and too conditional on combat interactions which your opponent has control over.
But the thing is unless you give it trample your guy is not getting in for any damage. So you would still be able to chump block the creature it is equipped with.
the art is inspiring but the ability doesnt seem mythicy to me. just seems like the blocking part isnt that scary unless maybe equipped to Phage the Untouchable or something

From a Vorthos perspective it really should have some red in it there somewhere.
It was created by Purphoros to kill Heliod in the first place, Heliod then several years later transforms it. The name Godsend should be read as God's End first and GodSend second, it literally tears Nyx apart.
I beg to disagree in several points.
1)It was not designed to KILL Heliod, the gods cannot kill each other (it is said even in the beginning where they fight and Purphoros uses the sword). It can cut Nyx substance apart, that is true.
2)When Heliod transforms the sword to Godsend, he says "it is no more Purphoros's sword", erasing the red god's influence. From Vorthos's point of view, it is cool that it costs the same as Heliod's spear, to which likeness it was transformed. The only thing is that it could technically have also enchantment type, as it originated from Nyx.

This is going straight into my Ephara midrange/control deck! I'm running a bunch of token generators, including Brimaz and the vigilance-granting god of the sun himself! The hard-to-remove 2 devotion is the cherry on this divine sundae!
This seals it. Journey into Nyx is my favorite set in the Theros block. I like this card, and I would expect it sees play in something. I'm not sure exactly where this card fits in standard, but it has to have a home somewhere. Some professional deck builder is already toying with this as an idea and trying to figure out a good deck to slot it into. So at the very least, this card is worth experimenting with.

All your base are belong to us!
RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
this gives stoneforge mystic decks in legacy an out to true-name nemesis. That's HUGE. This card WILL see play in legacy
It's still a source you control. TNN is safe. Not even the Godslayer can stop it.
The Godsend doesn't target, so I think it gets around protection, even from players. Provided the opponent chooses to block or attack into a creature holding it, of course.
It has PRO-PLAYER. All sources of the player, INCLUDING EQUIPMENT, do jack-crap against TNN. Does no one here seriously play legacy?
I don't play legacy and yet I still know you're wrong. If the card doesn't say "target," it doesn't target. Period. The number of MTG players who still don't understand what protection means is absolutely staggering.
That said, I don't really see why people think it's a good answer to TNN. It's just plain worse against him than anything that gives your creature pro-blue, unblockable or flying. He's almost certainly not blocking anyway and, if he does, it's because losing his TNN and not being able to cast more is better for him than taking the damage.
But the thing is unless you give it trample your guy is not getting in for any damage. So you would still be able to chump block the creature it is equipped with.
Sure, you can chump block it, but when you chump block it with your Voice of Resurgence, or herald of torment or whatever, you are not only losing that creature, you're losing the other 3 in your deck.
Technically, this card can remove 4 creatures from the game at a time... Remember that when you go to chump block then you draw the same card you blocked with 2 turns later, it's a dead card in your hand.
this bothers me. Equipments are colorless. the god weapons being colored is fine, but we have i believe 7 equipment in the block so far, 6 colored, 2 of which are white, and a swiftfoot boots lite. I would like to play this, but white doesn't appeal to me. seriously, even 1 white would be fine, i can do that, but 2 is too much. mono-anything but white just can't have the most hyped card in the set? why!?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
So what you're telling me is that this card can do away with True-Name Nemesis, but as far as I can tell the only way it can do that is for True-Name Nemesis to block your creature who has this equipped (since you can't block him).
And really the only way that this could ever logically happen against a player who knows what he's doing, is for you to have a means to flash Godsend in (e.g. Stoneforge Mystic) AND equip at instant speed (e.g. Auriok Windwalker or Brass Squire) after you've already declared an attacker and seen it blocked by TNN.
Seems like a really tall order expecting that to ever happen when you need it to...

I assure you that the wording on the card allows you to make your opponent sac his true name nemesis if it blocks your creature. Not only that, but they can't play any more of them either.
Protection means you can't target it or deal damage to it, Godsend doesn't target or deal damage, gets Progenitus too. Same reason why Supreme Verdict still works. Yep, this is gonna go up from where it is now, preorder now!
Just for reference:
Protection from a player is a new variant of the protection ability. It means the following: -- True-Name Nemesis can’t be the target of spells or abilities controlled by the chosen player. -- True-Name Nemesis can’t be enchanted by Auras or equipped by Equipment controlled by the chosen player. (The same is true for Fortifications controlled by the chosen player, if True-Name Nemesis becomes a land.) -- True-Name Nemesis can’t be blocked by creatures controlled by the chosen player. -- All damage that would be dealt to True-Name Nemesis by sources controlled by the chosen player is prevented. (The same is true for sources owned by the chosen player that don’t have controllers.)
If they block with it (you still can't block it), Godsend triggers and it's gone. And given that you're making your creature enormous (larger than TNN no matter who you equip it to), you can force them to block it eventually. Godsend + Batterskull on a Germ token is just dirty.
How does this work with blocked/blocking generals? If it works the way I think it does it's pretty good in EDH.
Same thing that happens when generals are exiled normally; they can choose to send it to the Command Zone. If they do, it hasn't been exiled with Godsend, so they can still cast it.
But... what if someone ELSE is running the same creature, just not as their general and you exile THAT, then get the general back in the command zone? Since it says "Opponents can't cast cards with the same name," in theory that would prevent the general from being able to be cast from the command zone, correct?

Yes, if you exile a different players version of the card, then they can't cast their commander while Godsend is on the battlefield.
I don't understand all the fuss about this vs True-Name Nemesis. They would have to block with True-Name... Your going to have to force them to do it, and you get bet as soon as this drops down, they are going to assume some sort of Lure effect will be attaching to it, so they will just keep True-Name swinging. And even then, they are still playing blue, I mean really they will probably have some form of control anyways to bounce the equipped creature or something, which will be totally worth it since you most likely will have to go all in just to get that 1 card.

And it wouldn't work anyway -- if you equip Godsend after the block is announced, it won't trigger.

That said, it's another Elbrus, the Binding Blade junk to be considered for serious constructed play. Cept that it's bonkers in limited.

I would think so, but you'd have to equip it to a non-white creature for it to get around white protection.
