What I would like is the fetch's be put on the reseverd list. Not because I hoard them or like shuffling hundred dollar bills, but because I'd like to read a thread about a new product and not see It derail into yet another goddamn conversation about fetch land reprints.
They're going to re print them, so get over it. You're all acting like bloated 7 year olds a month before Christmas. "I want a pony now! And if Santa doesn't give me one, I'm going to make time until the next time I get stuff miserable!"

The highest price fetchlands can sustain if they reprint them at rare in a normal block (or M15) is about 15 bucks apiece. If it gets any pricier than that, people will just buy more boxes and open them for fetches. I was opening something like 4-6 shocklands per box of RTR at 90 bucks a box. Do the math.
The chase ones, maybe 20? But even then I'd rather open boxes, buylist the rest than pay some assclown 30 bucks a fetchland
Maybe, worst case scenario you get online dealers trying to get 100/box instead of 90, but I doubt it.
Stop comparing Fetches and Shocks. They are vastly different. Shocks see less than half the play Feteches do in eternal formats. Shocks topped out around $40 (Breeding Pool/Hallowed Fountain) whereas Fetches topped out just short of $100 (Misty/Tarn). There is no comparison to be made. Fetches are not going to be under $20.
How about not clogging every new product discussion about fetches? could we do that, for once?
You either suck at magic and/or at life so you can't win with out them or afford them. We get it.
We don't live in a perfect world. People want clean water, health insurance, not to have missiles fired at them, and you want over reprinted fetches so you can have a cheap hobby. Fetche's are not a necessity for you to exist in the world healthily. They're a luxury item that's part of a hobby. Yet you all act like there's some huge injustice that you're not getting what you want. S.T.F.U.
It would be nice, when wizard's announces a new product, people get excited about it, discuss it, and not see it as a huge failure because THEY DIDN'T REPRINT EVERY THING I WANTED!
At this point you babies would only be happy if the printed a set called Tarmagoyf's vacation to zendikar, and all it was was fetch lands and goyf. And even then you'd find a reason to *****.

That's not a problem of justice. The problem is if no card in a modern deck able to win 2 games in a row is under 10$ and you cannot build one for less than 700$, then we all have a problem. No new players due to that barrier will make the format die. Not even remotely a problem for me as I don't like the format, but those interested in it surviving should be concerned about prices of singles.

I'm really over the barrier to entry argument. "Hey, I'm new to magic! I think I'll build pod and play in a scg open!"
That sentence has been probably said once, ever.
Anyway, the only people crying about fetch reprints are people who either have neither the means or the talent to get them on their own. The only constructed format I play is Edh, an occasionally limited. That occasional limited playing goes far. So with that, getting cards from trade and not being a jack ass with my meager 25k a year job, I've been able to build a nice collection. It didn't happen over night, but over years.
So if a complete dip ***** with below average talent at the game can aquire expensive cards just through trading and not spending money on my little pony wall scrolls, then anyone can.

The EDH stax primer When you absolutely, positively got to kill every permanent in the room, accept no substitutes.
As a new player myself, I don't really have an aggressive stance on the matter. I'm not going to be disappointed whether certain cards get reprinted or not. I'm just happy with what I get, playing drafts mostly. However, as a new player, trouble starts when you start seeing old timers playing other formats, such as Modern or Legacy. I won't take Legacy as my example here because the format has certain things I strongly dislike (I find the possibility of winning on turn 1 when lucky, or to have absolutely ridiculous combos very unappealing), but let's take Modern. I saw a couple of guys play it, looked at the cards, and thought, "well this looks neat." Then I had a talk with them about how much their decks cost, and the price of singles in general. And my reaction was simply "Oh. Forget it."
Please understand that as a newcomer, I do enjoy Magic very much. I do understand the nature of a collectible card game. But being new, having next to nothing in terms of cards, and seeing the prices Goyf or Confidant just makes you conclude that your money will be better spent elsewhere.
Yes, you can call people impatient little kids, that want everything right away. The fact is, when you get into the game, and enjoy the game, you'd like your passion to grow. MtG is an expensive game. Even drafting and playing limited is far from cheap. I'm a patient guy. But thinking "Ok, I'll just play limited for the next 5 years and once I get a decent collection going, I'll play some Modern as well" is not patience. Once you get into the game, you'd like to enjoy every aspect. Without plunking thousands of dollars in it, and sometimes hundreds of dollars for a single card. From a newcomers perspective, it's gotten completely out of hand.
Now playing casually is always an option, and doesn't require as much money. It does however require friends that agree to play casually. Sadly, in my case, none of my friends play Magic. So I'm stuck going at FNM every week, and meeting competitive and socially awkward people to play. Nothing wrong with that, I like meeting new people. Casual is out, however.
I'm rambling, and this has gone on for too long already. My apologies. The point I simply wanted to get across is that a new, mediocre player won't even bother to try those formats once he sees the price of fetchlands, for example. I believe there's a Timmy in every new player. And Timmy doesn't get excited by a land. When the most expensive card in your deck is a land, and you've got to invest 200-300 dollars in a set of them, the new player will not feel excited or happy. He'll just decide to keep playing what he's already playing.
This is dangerous for formats such as Modern and Legacy. Fresh blood is needed as much as new cards are needed. Else things will just go stale. Yes, patience is key. But once again, waiting years to get a collection going is more than patience. As for reprinting, well...I suppose it would fix numerous things. I started playing last August though, a couple months after Modern Masters was released. I'm sure there are reasons for this kind of "limited" reprinting. MM was obviously not a set for beginners, either. But when one looks at the result, 300 dollars for a box, and cards like Goyf being even more expensive than before, you've got to wonder if that was a good choice. Would printing and edition like MM just as much as any regular edition, for about a year or so, have really been so bad?
Anyway, done for now, and sorry for the length. It's most likely nonsense, but as a new guy, I wanted to chime in.
Just for the sake of being on topic: I really hope this will be massively printed, so I can get my paws on a copy for MSRP. Here in Switzerland, we don't really have many LGS, and rely on online stores, or, for boosters and such, a couple department stores that carry Magic.
I find I enjoy tokens, and other than GW Hatebears and Modern D&T, this is probably the kind of deck I'd enjoy playing most! (As you might have guessed, I'm quite partial to white).

Shocks topped out around $40 (Breeding Pool/Hallowed Fountain) whereas Fetches topped out just short of $100 (Misty/Tarn). There is no comparison to be made. Fetches are not going to be under $20.
The prices do have to be somewhat in proportion to the price of boxes. If they're $30.00, and you average even 3 in a box, then you can literally buy boxes and everything else is free. Unless the set has literally nothing else worth anything, no one will buy them at $30.00 each while in print. They could sit at $20.00 possibly, but any higher would be tough to maintain while in print and if there is any other value in the set even that might be tough.
It's very possible that once fetches are reprinted, the originals will maintain their price while they are now standard legal and tons of people will be using them. Once they rotate out again though, the price will plummet. An example of this can currently be seen in mutavaults. I would imagine that as soon as mutavault rotates out of standard again, they are going to drop in price by at least half.

Amen. This fetchlands discussion will continue to plague our vision. I mean, honestly, we can just await the release the deck list release.
Why complain that people are discussing fetchland reprints in a product discussion that may or may not include fetchlands?
There is almost nothing to discuss here, it's a preconstructed deck with no decklist, without the fetchland discussion it's just an empty thread.
I don't know why anyone would come into this thread, REPEATEDLY, just to complain that people are discussing fetchlands instead of nothing.
Because every time we see it's been bumped to the top some of us hope there's actual news regarding the product. Instead it's just more bickering over hypothetical price fluctuations of cards that may or may not get reprinted in the near future. It's kind of annoying.

I have a direct account with WOTC and received my allocation today (I am an advanced level WPN location). I was allocated four(!) modern event decks and three cases of Conspiracy. The allocations are always based on previous ordering and player numbers based on reported games through the WER. This means that each store could have a different allocation of product. It does look like the modern event deck is extremely limited, though. It reminds me of the Commander's Arsenal. I was hoping for a bigger print run...It looks like Conspiracy is somewhere in the middle. I'd say call your LGS to get the scoop from them directly as every store is allocated individually.
If that's true then it seems like a weird move after what happened with prices of Mind Seize and MM boxes.
Any new news about availability after initial shipments?
Absolutely none, hopefully the print keeps up with demand because I know there will be more demand than 4 decks per store.
Hey StompingGrounds, you keep coming on these threads talking your store up, but is it just me or do you stock absolutely meaningless stock on your store? I see 3 different Commander decks and nothing else. Where are the duel decks and other pre con products? It smells like false advertising/hype.

What a grossly immature thing to say about other players. Lemme fill you in on the situation, friendo. Magic The Gathering is a product. Players are the consumers of said product. Thus, they have a right to express interest in particulars of said product. If the consumers were to stop making demands for said product, the product would stop selling, which would lead to the elimination of future sets, tournaments, everything. Your hundred card investments wouldn't worth a fraction of a percent of what you probably sunk into them. Not to mention your little diatribe about players "Sucking at life"... Well that's just rude. It's a card game. As in, meant for fun. If the meta had 90% less of your sort, the game would be a hell of a lot more fun than it is.
