IDK if it was mentioned but what it is a return to Kamigawa where some kind of war tribe is invading the lands explored in kamigawa block or something? a bit similar to scars i suppose but....
It's not going to be Return to Kamigawa. MaRo confirmed new plane AND struck down the possibility of ever revisiting that one, specifically.
I'm hoping to see a Plane War. There hasn't been one of those since we resolved the Dominarian-Rathi-Phyrexian War. Every block conflict since then has been limited to a single plane.
There's a reason for that: It's a formula that works. I doubt they'll change it now, especially given how hard it would be to tell that kind of story in this framework.

I'm officially proposing we retire the word "insane" from the MtG vocabulary.

I'm giving 80% odds of gold tokens being a not-insignificant theme, as we received two cards that made them during this block and Wizards seems to be tapping into GDS mechanics lately.

I think I can be cool with this. A sort of Arabian Nights // Kamigawa set I'm hoping. I think they can definitely make it good and I think It'll be better than Theros flavor-wise.
I hope they keep continue with mechanics that offer deck consistency in limited. Mechanics that make it easier to end up with a good hand. I think these mechanics give us more decisions to make during a game. Theros offered:
- Scrying lets you dig for specific answers. (Scry for lands, scry away lands, scry for removal..)
- Bestow gives you options for two different game states.
- Monstrosity gives you flood ensurance.
What's the chance that scry will stick around with the next block?

We may see some scry spells in M15 but I don't think there will be anything in the next block.

Oops, posted this in the Warlords of Khanar thread thinking it was this one, sorry, but here's a link that popped up on my Facebook feed. I'm assuming it's old news, but if it's true then it does point to Sarkan coming back what with his being connected to dragons.
That's "obiviously" gonna be an "Return-to-Onslauhght-ish" set! We need the return of allied fetches, the savage steppes tropes, beasts and barbarians warlords etc. In any case we need at least the return of the fetches

I'm giving 0% odds of gold tokens being a theme ever, because the template doesn't work the way you think it does.

What do you think the template would do with three+ color tokens?

Gold tokens are tokens created by Gild and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed, not tokens with more than one colour (or more than two) and are thereby represented with gold-coloured borders. There is a significant minority of people who believe the existence of two cards in Theros block positively demonstrates a set-up for a theme in Tarkir block. However, "Gold tokens matter" cards are extremely unlikely due to the way they are templated: they are tokens named Gold rather than tokens with the subtype Gold (probably due to potential confusion with multicoloured tokens, as you demonstrate). This means anything that wants to key off it needs to use the awkward template of referring to a token or artifact "named Gold" rather than simply say "Gold token". If they had intended these cards as a plant for a future theme they would have used a more elegant template. There is a lot of design space for Gold tokens but not any that benefit from other Gold token producers being in an adjacent block, therefore Gild being in BNG is totally irrelevant to the token's chances in Tarkir.
Looks pretty cool.
MaRo looks surprisingly in shape and healthy plus he seemed rather happy like hinting at some secret tech he is proud of.
Cannot think of "Something that players have been begging us to do this for years"
I can think of Banding brought back as people have been theory-crafting that Theros seemed to have an emphasis on "going wide" and banding works with that notion.
Things that are obvious to even the most casual observer--
SARKHAN VOL 3.0 will be printed.
Anyone that's been playing at any time between Conflux and Dark Ascension ought
to be able to recognize promoting a Planeswalker when they see it. Return to Ravnica
and Theros were both less about Planeswalkers than Innistrad was, but really people--
with Dack Fayden in Conspiracy, there aren't any characters in the Multiverse that are Planeswalkers that don't have cards.
They *don't* miss chances to print new versions of Lorwyn 5 or Elspeth, Tezzeret, Bolas and Sarkhan.
Questions that people will want answered:
ARE THEY GOING TO RE-INTRODUCE DRAGONS TO TARKIR SOMEHOW?
IS NICOL BOLAS' STORY GOING TO GET INVOLVED?
WILL THE COOL LANDS BE SNOW-COVERED OR ONLSAUGHT FETCHES?
WHAT IS THE MYTHIC RARE BLUE CARD DE JOUR THAT COPIES A POWER NINE ABILITY?
WHAT CARDS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN IN MODERN MASTERS WILL BE IN THIS BLOCK?
I am probably every color-combination it is possible to be, though it's really hard to figure out what it would mean to be 4-colored....it doesn't seem logical to be 4-colored without being 5-colored.
