People like the Planeswalkers as characters enough to buy figurines of them? That's even setting aside that these don't look great.
Is this a joke? My LGS sells planeswalkers so fast that they recently took 20ish some dual lands that sat in the case for between months to a year, and turned them into a big retailer at GP Vegas for credit to buy Planeswalkers.
Planeswalkers are probably the most popular card type around at this point, this is proven by the initial price of any planeswalker on day 1 of a new set.
I also think that Garruk is not quite Garruk Relentless, they have a similar mask but the action-figure looks nothing like Garruk Relentless.
Poor Liliana, they should have had Steve Argyle to give her face the teasing/evil look we love.

Cult of the Succubi Eating Kitten and Brotherhood of Hamsters - Zombie One/Hulking One - Brotherhood of Hamsters disapproves of Damage on the Stack amputation, the corruption of Mythics, and the "Major changes to Extended" in July 2010. You aborted our cards., but we approve of the Modern format. Even if it doesn't ha ve Carrion Feeder or Caller of the Claw in it.

The thing is, Steve Argyle is the only one who depicts her like that. I do prefer his depiction, it has more personality (and is a lot prettier,) but I get the feeling his Liliana isn't the "official" one as far as Wizards is concerned (even though I'm sure most players would disagree.)
I imagine these will sell well. I think it would have been much cooler if they chose to go with high quality sculpts like McFarlane figures, rather than cartoony toys.

Pop vinyl figures are becoming quite popular lately, thus why mtg is jumping on the bandwagon. The action figures above them are similar to most McFarlane figures I have seen.
Been waiting for MtG to expand to something like this, talk about timing since I have since retired into buying cards (that I don't use anyway coz given up playing the game as well).

Sorry, but Pre-Mending characters it seems would stay only as cards right now.
As per Liliana's face, not surprising from the type of production for these quality of toys. I mean, like heck WOTC would venture into partnering up with HOT TOYS (who make awesome faces tho real pricey).

Well this is because Argyle's Liliana is based off an actual human modeling for him. A lot of his cards are actually based off friends/models (See Chosen of Markov for example.)
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.

They've done action figures and statues before. I assume they just didn't sell well.
Here's hoping for an additional line of figures. I want a Karn figure.

Yeah, I know of a couple of those (like that Kitsune one from Kamigawa if I remember correctly and one of a Shivan Dragon?). I just feel that this is just more extensive than their previous efforts, hence feeling like it's really a ground-breaking move.

I'm also throwing my hat in the "Nissa will be in the next core set" ring, based on the fact that the second set will be released around the same time as M15. I also think Garuuk will be G/B, based on his appearance here and in the promo art for M15. As for the figures themselves, they're not really my thing, but I think it's cool that Magic is branching out into something other than pieces of silver.
If these sell well there surely will be more waves of new figs. Gideon would probably be high on the list, though it's stiff competition between him and Elspeth for who would be the next mono-white planeswalker they do.

Pretty much this. And if we are to learn from ventures before, if DATA suggests that these didn't sell much there won't ever be a second outing ever.
So to all y'all, don't delay, if you have the money already just buy it when it comes out.

I was referring to the action figures when I meant they were cartoony. To me, it looks like they are trying to be serious-looking, but failing. The pop figures are fine.

Pretty sure these aren't to scale with one another, otherwise Garruk would be taller. The guy is ridiculously big.

Part of her appeal (to me at least) was that she was sensibly dressed.

You mean the planeswalker whose cleavage had to be censored in DotP because it was too revealing?

Screw action figures, I want McFarlane statuettes. These aren't good enough.

The first series was Serra Angel, Kamahl, Pit Fighter, Lord of Atlantis, Ernham Djinn, Sengir Vampire, and Shadowmage Infiltrator.
And yes, I hope these do well, because I too would like some non card products.
