Although I am all for the reprinting of the expensive cards for legacy like Force of Will and Wasteland, I would also be really okay if they reprinted some of the less-expensive cards with the new card frame and new art like Stifle and Nimble Mongoose. Either way I am super stoked for this set, I've been getting more into limited and EDH recently, and I expect some good stuff for both of those formats in this set.
Vindicate would be cool, too or maybe Deed. I was just picking the extreme end of pre-modern, non reserved list stuff that might actually be fun to draft. I just don't really think an expensive reprint or two would be a big deal for pack prices if it's printed to demand like they said. I'd personally be happy with jank pet cards like new border Crush of WurmsCauldron Dance or Ashes to Ashes. There's still a few of my non reserved list favorites that haven't graced the new border yet. Alternate art would be cool, too, though. I love a lot of the new art they put on lots of cheaper cards in Modern Masters and duel decks.
I'll be happy enough if the set's cards live up to the name. Draft-specific mechanics are fun enough, but what I'm really hoping for are a score of abilities/effects that will allow you to form tenuous alliances which you can turn around again and abuse at a moment's notice, while your opponents try to do the same in a constant dance of favors and betrayals. If the set achieves this well enough, I'll be thrilled. Will of the Council sure has gotten me hopeful on a design level...
If older mechanics are able to return, I'd like more crazy stuff involving Join Forces or Tempting Offer, though that seems highly unlikely. A new, more powerful "Hunted" creature cycle like the ones from Ravnica would be another thing I'd go nuts over.
As far as reprints go, I'm cautiously getting my hopes up for some derpy political stuff that we've yet to see in Modern frames or with new artwork. Aside from that, my short list includes subtle power-balance-shifters like Lantern of Insight and Spectral Searchlight, or plain old huge bargaining chips like Soul Conduit and Alms Beast.
And for randomness-sakes Wizards, would it absolutely kill you to use this opportunity to reprint Liar's Pendulum?

Ashes to Ashes was reprinted in the Oloro deck. The art is neat c:
I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.

Tarmogoyf counts the number of different card types in your graveyard. The reminder text which reminds you what those are at the time of the card’s printing is irrelevant.

It has to do with the fact that there is a new card type "Conspiracy" in the new set.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.
Getting the "Tarmo" as we say here in Finland (I believe you speak of Goyf, but Tarmo is a finnish first name) reprinted in Conspiracy might make CNS-boxes ungettable, or Tarmogoyf's prices might drop significantly, which would be awesome for a more Casual player like myself. It's hitting 129euros(~178$) in our stores. Nonfoil. Foil's 395euros(~545$)
I think the reprinting of Tarmogoyf in this product is "the conspiracy." Amirite?

I got excited when I saw he answered this, because I thought they had released some new information about the set. I forgot that they mentioned there would be a new card type at PAX. I didn't expect the Conspiracy cards to be eternal legal, though. I thought they were going to be like Vanguards or Scheme Cards.

OK that makes sense. I just read Tarm and CNS in the same post and jumped to conclusions
It isn't out of the question-
if this new card type is not legal in other formats,
Conspiracy Drafts are the only place this rules question would come up.

We know there are 13 new cards in Conspiracy that will not be legal in Legacy or Vintage. To my knowledge, they haven't revealed whether cards of the new type "Conspiracy" are the ones that won't be legal. It does seem like a safe guess. However, the one partial card they revealed was shown with a black border. That is an indicator it exists in "real" Magic and not just Un-Magic.
Just some speculation about that card type Conspiracy itself: Since the theme of the set seems to be multiplayer shenanigans in the form of political plays (making alliances and then backstabbing your "friends" etc), I'm wondering if the Conspiracy cards do something along the lines of giving you a different win condition (or changing the rules of the game for you) as long as you have it in your hand. eg "Conspiracy of Murder -- When there are 30 creature cards in all graveyards, you may reveal this card from your hand. If you do, you win the game."
So they would give each player their own secret goal or conspiracy to be working towards that the other players don't know about (but will be trying to guess and foil). It could also explain why they'd automatically be banned in other formats than Conspiracy itself.
Just an idea that came to me, almost certainly 100% wrong ;D

That'd be very cool indeed.
Edit: Although, giving it a second thought, I doubt that effects saying "You/target player wins the game" can exist in Conspiracy. We know that, after draft players divide into two or more groups, each of 3-4 players. Assuming that finals is also multiplayer-ish, it should be that into finals go two players standing per each group. I mean, when there are only two ore less players alive in a group, the game ends, and those player proceed to the finals.
Just guessing, though. It maybe that finals is just a normal duel.

It is indeed a cool idea, but with only 13 it will not be all that hard to suss out the conspiracy a player is working towards- especially if (like all MTG products) they are of varrying usability. I do like the seed of the idea though.
I also think the idea is very cool. If I'm reading it correctly, it reminds me of Coalition Victory. But that is an effect that can be done in regular Magic.
I think in order to be auto-banned, the Conspiracy cards have abilities that ONLY work during a draft or do something that is forbidden in regular Magic. For the first point, Cogwork Librarian's ability isn't useful during a Legacy game, but it doesn't need auto-banned because of it. For the second, I keep thinking maybe Conspiracies are cards that can physically switch hands and/or decks... basically something team-related that breaks a tournament rule in regular events.
My thought on Conspiracy cards is that they will be something you can draft for an effect, but don't actually include in your deck. They'll function from the Command Zone, like Schemes, Planes, Hero's Path cards, etc. They'll likely be hidden from the beginning of the game, and have a condition that needs to be fulfilled before you can activate them, either for a one time or continuous effect.
So, similar to Serpens' idea, only from the command zone instead of hand and some effect other than winning the game.
So something like:
Conspiracy to Commit Murder
Conspiracy
You may execute Conspiracy to Commit Murder if there are ten or more creature cards among all graveyards.
Destroy two target creatures
Conspiracy to Commit Fraud
Conspiracy
You may execute Conspiracy to Commit Fraud only if you have more cards in your hand than each other player.
Reveal your hand. Then, for each other player, exile a card in your hand facedown. Each player guesses the name of the card you exiled for that player, then you reveal those cards. For each player that guesses incorrectly, search your library for a card and put it into your hand. Then, return each exiled card that an opponent guessed incorrectly to your hand.
Conspiracy to Commit Theft
Conspiracy
You may excecute Conspiracy to Commit Theft only if you control more nonland permanents than each other player
Gain control of target nonland permanent
Etc.

It was already known that all cards in Conspiracy have black borders including the banned in Vintage ones. Every time MaRo was asked if the banned cards had silver borders he said no and everyone just kept ignoring him. There has never been any indication that Conspiracy has any connection to "Un-Magic". The chance that this side product will add an entirely new card type to eternal formats, even when we know there are 13 cards that won't be legal in those formats, is basically nonexistent regardless of their border colour.
I would be willing to safely bet that the 13 "illegal" cards are of the "Conspiracy" type (with the scroll frame). All it would take is a couple lines in the comprehensive rules to render them illegal in any format other than Conspiracy Draft. As a side note, I would also think it is a safe bet that the next "spoiled" card will be one of these types of cards. We are about 6 weeks out from the release, so I would expect at least one or two more puzzles before the official spoilers start.
Hydra heads and Hero cards also have black borders, and are still illegal in every format. Who is to say Conspiracies even have regular card backs?
Considering that the set is draftable, I think it's very likely that they have regular card backs.
Innistrad was also draftable. Even with the double-faced cards.
And we don't know how Conspiracies work. We don't know if they will be drafted as regular cards or have some effect in the draft itself or automatically being taken by the player who opens the pack.
