Seems cheap that neither has new art. Both are reused from prior printings. Seems... very mediocre.
That seems to be the general sentiment. I guess finally having a foil Karador is nice for those who like EDH, but what are they trying to say about Entomb? Do they think Reanimator is the cure for Legacy's SnT problem?
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
From the looks of the pics on the mothership, this is the missing Entomb judge foil from 2011, #4/8. Note the copyright for the Entomb is longer than for Karador. Now I can finish my complete set
Both should be out at PT Valencia, then in the regular GP package after that. Look for the first big burst of them available in the US after GP Richmond.
These foils seems pretty mediocre valuewise. Mainly because entomb already had several foil printings. Karador may fetch a little bit but nowhere near last year's packets (Recruiter, SnT)
Just awful. Mediocre edh general with no constructed or cube potential, and a card with multiple foul printings already.
Like what the heck is wizards doing into the judge foil department. There are so many cards that need promo printings, and this is what they come up with. The worst part is, these are one area where value of cards has to be important to Wotc. These are the payment for judges. These are both going to be very low value foils. And they weren't needed, just like the last round, which include stp and vindicate. So frustrating.
Could have been, for example, baleful strip, shard less agent, ravages of war, mana drain, or an old frame printing of any number of new frame staples. Instead, mediocrity.

Agreed. Unfortunately, the only feedback that could possibly affect wizards is judges not finding it worth their time/money to travel out to these events, which hurts everyone.
Entomb foils are around $18 and I cant see demand for Karador making this promo worth 15$

To be fair, Entomb has only been printed twice before, and it's still hovering around $20. Granted, it's not on the same level as some previous judge foils, but it's not total jank. I would have liked some new art, though.
wishing Karador had some new art. That would have been pretty nice. Overall, I'm fairly happy. Karador will be worth something even though it is original art because this is (correct me if I'm wrong) his first foil printing.
Oh, come on. STP and vindicate were both gorgeous.
Stp and vindicate both already had foil promo printings. Repeats should not be a priority when there are so many cards that have yet to be promos or seen print in new or old frame.
Considering that judges frequently play EDH, and was started by judges, having one of the judge foils be a card that has never been foiled printed as a judge foil seems like a great choice. These are not meant to provide value to nonjudges so they can get cheaper cards that are popular. They are meant to reward judges, and this is a card a lot of judges will love.
If there's one Legacy staple that needed a foil printing, it was Entomb. I'm glad judges will be compensated for ten hours of grueling work dealing with angry hypercompetitive Magic players with a $30 card with they can sell on Ebay for $25, and then Paypal will take $3 of that.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

Judge Gift Program? Pft, more like "Sheldon Menery Appreciation Year". Whatever, Karador is nice but I feel bad for the judges who will be getting "compensated" with fairly garbage promos.

The thing is that there are usualy a Commander card and an Eternal card, and while the Commander card is usualy of low value (Overwhelming Forces, Bribery, Command Tower), the Eternal card compensated a lot (Show and Tell, Imperial Recruiter, Karakas).
Here, both of the cards are mediocre, hence the issue. As judges usualy need to resell these cards to pay for their travel expenses, making both cards mediocre mean less possibilities for judges to travel to events.
I'll agree that Entomb is a choice that is lacking. I was only commenting on the Karador hate as it is a reasonable choice. Were there other Commander options? Sure, and they will get foil printings, but there's no reason Karador shouldn't get one.

I've seen way more decks for Ghave, Guru of Spores.
And Entomb is just silly after getting it in Graveborn.

It's on the Reserve List. You're not getting it in foil. Sorry!
