Well, on Monday we'll know all the cards, half the people on this forum will call it the best set since Innistrad, others will say its as bad as Homelands. Same deal every few months

I'm still holding out for a Serum Visions reprint, since a functional reprint seems unlikely due to the consistency Modern decks could get from running eight copies. I know that there are flavor issues, since Serum is a specific hallucinogen on Mirrodin, but I think it's pretty excusable. Especially since drug-induced hallucinations seem very ancient Greek. Wasn't there a story in The Odyssey about the sailors getting high off a "special flower"?
They couldn't have made it 1UU Draw 2, Scry 1? I mean they only stapled scry 1 onto a bunch of other core set reprints. Heck even a 3U Draw 2, Scry 1 would have made me happier than this being reprinted again. Everyone saying them printing it here means it won't be in the core set is sorely underestimating Wizard's incompetence. It will almost certainly be in M15.
Sweet art, pretty boring reprint. I wouldn't mind a new card UU1 Draw 3. Or just U2 Draw 3.
Lolololol. You really aren't on the up and up when it comes to card power, are you? 3 mana to draw 3 cards? That'd be insanely good. Concentrate costs 2UU and is an amazingly powerful draw spell, lowering its mana cost by 1 and it seeing print is about as likely as Counterspell being reprinted.
Divination is a perfectly acceptable spell. It has and continues to see Standard play. Excellent reprint.
@broodwarjc: It's not incompetent for it to be in M15; in fact, quite the opposite. Cards are reprinted for the sake of Limited as well. They don't design new cards 'just because' when there's a pre-existing card that fulfills the necessary role. That's what makes good Magic design.
Imagine how many of the m10 core set lands we could have been playing...

“A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there. It aint the heart of a creature that is bound in the way that God has set for it. You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”

Yep. Land of the Lotus Eaters, I believe, is what you're thinking about
This was supposed to be the art for the reasonable cantrip we've been deserving for a while now.

I like it. Great new artwork, and a solid, playable card. I'm pretty sure Divination is blue's Giant Growth. Unexciting, but a staple card with a staple effect. Seems to work flavor wise too. Haters need to chill.

I was hoping for a reprint of Planar Portal with this art, but this isn't a bad choice either I guess. I will definitely play with this version over the other two arts.
Anyhow, the best I can come up with myself is a game in the top 8 of a PTQ back during Urza block in which we were starting game 3 with time already expired, so the tiebreaker rule was that whoever had more life after 3 turns would win. And I lost to... healing salve.
Replaces itself when it comes in, and nets you another card when the creature dies. Granted, it needs a friendly target, so it doesn't do wonders for creature-less control, but I get the feeling that is a part of Wizards' plan here.
They seem to be trying out a Creature-based control with UB this round. Plenty of x/3 2-3 mana critters, a -2/-2 sweeper, Inspiration (a creature-based control mechanic), some of the UB Heroic cards too (looking at you Agent of the Fates. Even Phenax is an Inspiration enabler, albeit a weird one. And coincidence that Hidden Strings is around, and that Cipher was a thing? I'm not sure! Not sure I like it, really, but they ARE trying to push creatures as a thing more and more.
That said, for now if you want a two mana card that draws 1... gotta have a target. But maybe you can also draw 2 off of it
It's Divination.........woo.

Biggest overstatement I've seen yet. 10/10
We really need some good cheap card draw again...I miss Ponder, Think Twice, Desperate Ravings & Forbidden Alchemy >_>
It is played. In a top-tier deck, no less.
... because it has an awesome new art. Such marketing strategy, but well I honestly like a foil playset of this just for art alone.

Me too, but I would've settled for concentrate or jace's ingenuity. Divination is so boring that I may have even preferred brilliant plan!
