Problem there is if they discard a land, you get the BB during your untap phase.
That likely means they are not playing lands. You want to hit your land drops in magic. Holding onto them so you can discard them is not often a good idea. What if the next card you draw is one CMC more than what you had on the field and you needed to play it, yet you discarded that land so your opponent wouldn't get a 2/2 zombie from Waste Not?
Waste not will not likely net you BB unless the opponent has no need of more lands.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
I like this card. Definitely one of the most interesting we have seen in this set so far.
I would agree this card is very good in limited, but part of me wants to make this work in constructed as well. I can see a good many casual decks wanting this card.

Lol, this + Duskmantle Seer. If your opponent has an empty hand you can stack the triggers so Duskmantle Seer goes off first. So they reveal the top card of their library, take the damage, then discard it and mill one. This card is extremly good. I think this will eventually get placed up there with Finkel and Pychatog in the top 5 UB creatures ever. If you can find ways of untapping it at instant speed, it can screw with scry and brainstorm, and with effects like Springleaf Drum, you can essentially give it haste. This is INSPIRING.
Wow. I'm really impressed with that ability, especially on a low cmc evasive creature. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's constructed playable. Think of it as a Specter for less mana (as most Specters are 3+ mana).
edit: whoops. I thought it was UB, not 1UB. It's still good, especially if there are tap-untap hacks. This may be a sideboard card against ramp or slower decks.
Great limited card for reasons stated to exhaustion in this thread but I kinda wish it didn't mill. In my experience incidental mill is more often than not a Time Walk for your opponent.
BUG control/mill looks like it could be fun but it's hard to say how consistent it would be. This zombie lady paired with Springleaf Drum and Kiora's Follower would be fun. Then you ramp into Phenax for the end game.
I don't think that works. Duskmantle Seer triggers at the beginning of the upkeep, while inspired triggers at untap (which typically happens before upkeep phase).
No triggers can happen during the untap step. The trigger gets put on the stack during the upkeep, which is when Duskmantle Seer puts its trigger on the stack. You will be able to stack the triggers however you like. If you don't believe me, check out the mechanics article for BNG.
Here's the exact quote: "Inspired abilities that trigger during the untap step are all put onto the stack as the upkeep step begins, at the same time as "at the beginning of your upkeep" triggers. You put your inspired triggers and upkeep triggers on the stack all at once, in any order you wish."
Well, it might not be constructed playable, as Nightveil Specter outclasses it in terms of size, mana flexibility and devotion count. However, my LGS does 2HG sealed at the pre-release and I will be more than happy to jam all the Sirens and Ashiok's Adepts I can get my hands on--what a bomb Siren is in 2HG Sealed. (I love cards that say "each opponent.")
Doesn't really seem to have a lot of synergy with Phenax but still an interesting card with cool art.
Not much synergy? Um, Phenax allows it to tap itself without attacking, so that it then untaps and triggers its inspiration effect. Phenax has fairly good synergy with inspiration effects, if you don't just want to swing in with creatures.
wow, this is definitely a top tier uncommon. The ability is costed fairly, and can get pretty crazy if you use an inspired enabler, making this go unchecked. worth mentioning that this + nightveil + phenax is enough to turn on Phenax. This would allow you to get both the mill from inspired and the mill from phenax (even if phenax isnt on), and really end the game in 1 or 2 turns. If they shut down the mill plan, then you just hammer them with efficient flying beaters.
I really like the power level of the uncommons in this set

Nick: I lay a swamp, tap, dark ritual...
Me: If you cast a hypnotic specter I'll punch you in the face
Nick:...ahh I take 3 points of mana burn
The reason I play black according to CrovaxtheCursed:
Its definitely not an auto-include anywhere but people shouldn’t under estimate a repeatable discard engine that can be activated during an opponents turn. With a kioras follower out you can effectively make it so instead of top-decking they are just handless the rest of the game.

It's a good twist on the specters.

For standard... who knows? Some BUG deck with Prophet of Kruphix and Springleaf Drum? Grixis control?

Check out Shipwreck Singer and Blood-Toll Harpy. Sirens have arms AND wings, harpies don't.
You get it in your Upkeep, there's no priority during the untap phase.
