Hey guys, Maro said his preview card is something that could only be done on Theros. So maybe it is King Midas then. He might want to spoil it himself because it produces a unique token. I'm sure he's got a story about the card's design/development.

That Gold token is almost certainly a pegasus that was turned to gold. King Midas fits the Greek theme, unique ability resulting in gold, and given that Maro is going to introduce something interesting on Thursday, I'd be willing to place my bet alongside Karric's and say this is probably it. Though I personally doubt it'll actually be a creature with the Midas touch, but who can say?
Maybe a sacrifice permanent to create a Gold artifact token kind of ability?
Why would Gold be exclusive to Greek thro? Lots of cultures use Gold as a currency. A Wild West themed setting would definitely want Gold. I could definitely see Gold in a future Ravnica or Zendikar return.

Immediately after the draft, you may notice how freakin' screwed you are, as someone just used Lore Seeker to get a pack of Zendikar with a power nine inside.

I believe Gold came out in this set because Gold is the common currency of the Underworld (as said in the wizards article). Gold is also shown on numerous magic cards from these 2 sets. Plus Gold is a very common tribute for gods/goddesses throughout History, so I think they were doing the best they could to stick to the flavor of the set.
I cant wait to get some gold tokens, the jokes my friends and I will crack with these will all be stupid, but they will be funny, and they will be endless lol
Wow, such cool tokens this time around, and quite a bit for a small set, too. I especially love Kiora's Kraken token, and the Returned Children Zombie token. It's very creepy, and disturbing.
I think Gold tokens are produced by a removal instead of a creature hability.
"Destroy Target Creature, it's controller puts a gold token with blablablabla."
Or
"Destroy Target Creature, it's controller puts X gold token with blablablabla. onto the battlefield where X is that creature Thoughness" or something like that... Maybe black, white or blue.
The gold token has to have something to do with King Midas. Deathtouch = when dies get gold tokens doesn't make sense though. They would just word it without deathtouch, such as "Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a creature, that creatures controller get's x Gold Tokens, where x is that creatures toughness"
Or something like that.
What would really be cool would be a 2WR
Legendary Creature - Human Cleric
"Defender" "Deathtouch"
Whenever ~ deals lethal damage to a creature, that creatures owner gets x gold tokens where x is that creatures power/toughness.
"If fetch lands are reprinted I really believe they will be in allied colors (aka Onslaught fetches). If the fetch lands are reprinted you better believe that we'll all be fetching up basics. This would lead me to believe that the set after THS may have a reprint as the temples can't be fetched but it's pure speculation." - posted 03/22/2014 proved correct during Khans spoiler season.
"The set releases for fall 2015 (Blood, Sweat and Tears) and fall 2016 (Lock, Stock and Barrel). One or both of those 2 blocks (I'm betting) are going to contain either Fetch reprints or (more likely) Filter reprints. Filter lands still need a reprint. They are getting pretty high up there and it's been longer than ZEN so it makes a little more sense that Filter lands would see print earlier that fetches." - posted 03/22/2014 proved incorrect about filters coming earlier than fetches, still pending on filters in Origins block.

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Zombie token, bird token and gold token are all money though.

Thanks you very much DarkNightCavalier for the Sig.

Obviously it would be the brand new Midas touch keyword.
Wolf token - finally. A wolf that looks plausible AND powerful.
Nicely done.

I can't decide which is creepier, the zombie children on the token, or the faceless ones pictured mid-kidnap on the Pseudamma. Yikes!
Favorite wolf token art so far.
Has there ever been any official word on why the tokens are no longer printed with Haste? Rules-wise, it kinda matters... (Though not often)
Or something like that.

Yep! I concur. The only horse-feathers we have in Theros I think is Cavalry Pegasus.
King Midas wants to hit the disco in Meletis, hops on his trusty steed only to have it collapse into gold. Goldmember begins to wig out. (?)
