I like this for Kaalia of the Vast EDH because of all of the large, angry, flying Legends under her command. The buff would actually be secondary to getting to durdle for just the right Legendary winged beatstick every turn. It would also help me dig her back out after she got tucked with Condemn or Hinder.

This... this make me want to re jig my Derevi deck with a stack of ledgendaries including Sissay.. whats that I can tap and untap this thing over and over.
I am a huge fan of Coat of arms.. but yeah I do love this card. I just wish I had a deck that could use it. maybe just maybe there is a way to make it work in standard.
This is a wonderfully hilarious idea. Sadly, the big, gaping hole in this idea is that if you don't have adequate devotion to the right colors, the gods of the colors in question won't count as creature cards and therefore the Podium won't be able to grab them for you. I'm not saying it's impossible to put together 5+ devotion to all five colors, just that you'll be very hard-pressed to do so.

They're creatures all the time except if they are on the battlefield with insufficient devotion. It will grab them just fine.

Not actually true. When the gods are outside of the battlefield anywhere (hand, graveyard, library, etc.), they are creatures regardless of your current devotion to their colors, and so the podium will always allow you to reveal them.

So you're saying that the text in the gods' text boxes that says "~ isn't a creature" only applies when said god is on the battlefield? It still seems a bit ambiguous to me, but considering that you can Zombify and Worldly Tutor creatures with shroud, I suppose you're probably right.

It seems that I was wrong, but even if I were right, if someone were willing to dump enough money to put all 15 gods together into a Karona EDH deck, I'd be willing to make a house rule just to see that deck in action.

Not really that overcosted given what it does. I can't envision a Standard deck that would want this, but it's way more interesting than something completely unplayable like Search the City. Really sweet design, actually.
When Theros finishes there might a critical mass of Legendaries for a Casual FNM deck that could stand up to Tier 1 decks like Clan Defiance + Boros Reckoner and Casual Extort.
Oh my Captain Sisay deck is so happy. First I get a g/w god that thins out mana and now I get a tutorable coat of arms for legendary creatures that can search for more creatures? It's like Christmas!
I'm working on something similar 15 gods, 10 of the hybrid mana avatars to turn them on. But progenitus as commander cuz he fits a theros flavor better.
Man I feel sorry for the long-term box value of this set. Narrow mana-wasting jank.
I wouldn't count this one out as a fairly decent value card. It's going to be an EDH card that sees a decent amount of play methinks, and could almost be a staple. If EDH has proven anything, it's that it can single handedly maintain some rather high prices for cards used in the format.
If I can, I'm going to get a few foils on the cheap just for that reason. It's one of those cards that the worst case scenario is you waste a couple dollars getting and has good potential to go up in value due to the format that wants it.
EDH alone is not able to rise prices of cards from recent sets much on its own. Sylvan Primordial is much more versatile and powerful EDH card than the Podium could ever hope to be and it costs $0.25 online and $1 in paper.
Note that EDH is singleton format and still isn't still as popular as Standard. And the supply of recent sets is enormous.
That is true, which is why I wouldn't go in on Non-foil version.
I would like to point out, however, that the foil version of Primordial commands a real price tag. So if I can find a couple of these for dirt cheap in foil versions, I'll get a few.
Considering how much drafting I do, however, I will have more than enough regular versions to my chagrin (This is easily a 13-14th pick; people will take it only over complete chaffe). At the least it's significantly better than Pyxis is, meaning I can possibly unload excess regulars as throw-ins to people who may want them, particularly new players. Hell, I may just put extras in my give-away box that I bring to the LGS for new players to pilfer through my unused commons/uncommons (And particularly worthless rares). It is worth point out, however, that BNG being a small set and being drafted as BNG-THS-THS (And JOU-BNG-THS later on) means that unlike the Primordials, there will be far fewer copies out. It won't drive the prices to ridiculous levels but it could bump it up somewhat simply due to far less product opened than Gatecrash. It's not a huge long-term gain, but if I can get a few foils on the cheap, and a few copies as a 12-14th pick in draft, I can see some value to them in the long futures game.
So I do suppose it won't really affect the value of the set. It's early, I just woke up, and wasn't thinking intelligently about things.
Casual elves all legends, with coa too lol

Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)

Heroes - plural
Rakdos - singular ending in "s"
Therein lies the difference.

Isn't this already reasonable legendary focused?
