1.) That Bob is constructed unplayable. Let's just get that out of the way early. Anything that requires other cards just to tap it to do something isn't going to be good enough.
Also. It probably isn't very good in limited either. If you had the choice of putting it into your hand or not, it would be good enough to be a good limited card.
2.) The archetype cards will probably also be unplayable. In limited, however, they should be very good. I'd like to see the others for comparison.
3.) The multicolored Gods still have a lot of potential. Yes, they require 7 devotion, but they only *really* require 5 since each one has 2 in its own cost. In reality it is just 1 more than the mono-gods.
I can see the minor gods' devotion abilities being confusing. This is one of the cases where reminder text would be quite useful.
The only advantage Bob 2.0 has is that it's easier to stop it from killing yourself. What really kills it is the no cards until at least two turns later without help. I wonder if they tried 2/1 with haste.
New bob can't attack as it will get destroyed in combat most likely, so doubt it will be anywhere near as good. IMO it needs to go in a control deck and maybe Ral Zarek will make a comeback as a spec target?
Damn, I JUST REALIZED typing this.
Prophet of Kruphix + Bob 2 = INSTANT DECK!!!! Luckily I have 8 copies of Kruphix but now I'm convinced that card will go way up in price
Bug Control...they go together so well, you get to draw on your opponent's upkeep and if you have multiple Pain Seers out...damn.
What people fail to realise is that Pain Seers problem isn't that he has to attack, because decks that want to play him will generally have enough removal and want to keep beating in each chance they get, as in Satanic Sligh where the original Bob saw the most play and was usually beating in, but rather that unlike Bob, he doesn't get you a card on your next turn unless you have a way to tap him. He basically takes two turns instead of one to start getting you cards, but he does have more tricks he can do as a result.
It's kind of sad, but this is one of the few times I wish a card came into play tapped :(.

Considering that control decks tend to revolve around high-cost cards (both of your enablers are 5 mana), I don't think that this will see play in Control.
The cards in the Mechanics article are always pretty straightforward examples of both new and old mechanics, hence they are usually Commons and Uncommons. The Lands were already known (though seeing their awesome art is nice) and were totally expected, meaning the real cream of the crop is the two spoiled Constructed cards. How good either Pain Seer or Ephara are can't really be quantified until the rest of the set is out, but the Seer looks like a card worth testing with, and Ephara will certainly make waves in casual Constructed.
@Demagogue: Yep, the biggest issue with the card is that it is slow to recoup any advantage. Nonetheless, 2/2s for 2 mana with potential upside are the bread and butter of Constructed Magic, so it could gain some traction.
Though to be honest, for 2 mana in Black I am pretty sure you'll be better off with casting Pack Rat.
It's not better than Bob, but it isn't strictly worse either. The 1 toughness makes opponents need to commit Electrolyze/Forked Bolt effects to kill it, and being able to turn it off when you're low isn't nothing.
That said, I think the downside of needing to attack AND survive until it untaps (which gives the opponent two whole turns to kill it before you get a single card) makes it considerable worse in most situations.
That said, I could see aggro decks loving this card, Maybe some Jund aggro with an insanely low curve in modern would like this as draw engines 5-8. Even though the body isn't too efficient for an aggro deck, it isn't *bad*, and it puts your opponent in an interesting position of having to decide whether to kill your threats or your card advantage. Before the deck wouldn't be able to keep a Bob on board at all, but this gives the deck much better Bob density.
.
You're misreading Ephara. You would have to cast a creature during your opponents' turn as well to draw a card next upkeep. So you don't draw 3 cards ( with 4 opponents) through a whole cycle of turns by your opponents.
Oh, dammit!
I read it as "if a creature ETB during your last turn"

Bad Bob (the name will stick, it's only a matter of time) isn't strictly worse than Dark Confidant, but please don't fool yourselves. This is Blood Scrivener all over again.
The good stuff is that the trigger isn't mandatory and the toughness is 2 (this means it can kill Deathrite Shaman), the bad news is you basically need another combo piece for it to be good or it will die too early and you may not even draw any cards from it, and that just begs the question, why not just run Underworld Connections?
He will see some standard play, probably with Xanthrid Necromancer[/CARD], Springleaf Drum, and maybe with some other new cards we haven't seen yet but honestly this seems like a lot of work and combo for Dark Tutelage .
On a different note, I really like Ephara, God of the Polis. How do you think that card will fare money wise? Hopefully not too much, I think she'd be a great general for EDH, and she'll certainly go in my Grand Arbiter Augustin IV deck if she's not a fortune.
This is pretty hilarious, but I guess the Inspired mechanic is going to render Imposing Sovereign more or less unplayable in Standard. Awww, just as she was getting her career off the ground.
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
The site has Ephara wrong. It checks on EACH upkeep. So if you play a creature on your turn, you draw during your opponents upkeep. If you play on on your opponents, you draw one on yours. As long as you don't play more than one creature each turn (yours or opponents) they all cantrip. Seems decent.

You should try and not misuse the word entitled when making an exaggerated point to attack a subset of players.

I'm thinking something like:
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Dark Seer
4 Dark Confidant
4 Deathrite Shaman
2 Grim Lavamancer
3 Kitchen Finks
2 Scavenging Ooze
1 Burst Lightning
2 Terminate
2 Thoughseize
2 Domri Rade
4 Verdant Catacombs
1 Arid Mesa
1 Marsh Flats
2 Overgrown Tomb
1 Stomping Ground
1 Blood Crypt
3 Treetop Village
1 Copperline Gorge
2 Blackcleave Cliffs
2 Forest
2 Swamp
2 Mountain
Will the red archetype give haste or first strike?
Will the green one give reach or trample?
Will the black one give intimidate or deathtouch?
White will most likely get vigilance

Have some irony:
How was that misused or exaggerated?
